I am honored to introduce my first guest from Ghana : Sandrine Yaa Kaboré , Fashion & Runway Model , Beauty Queen, Miss Supranational Ghana 2022. Sandrine gives me a wonderful interview and we know her now.

Welcome Sandrine Yaa Kaboré!!!

1.- Sandrine, you were born in Ghana,What do you like about your hometown in Ghana? What are your hobbies?

Yes I was born in Ghana. Those who know me well, know that I’m a foodie haha. So I like that my homeland has variety of delicious foods which portray and speaks so much about Ghana. Heard of the Ghana jollof? You should try it.

I also like how loving and accepting my people are, there’s no discrimination between us and foreigners who visit, we’re very welcoming.

My hobbies? Well I love to read, watch movies, listen to music, walks on the beach, love to cook, eat, play volley and football, I love teaching(early childhood education) I love to model and sleep a lot.

2.- What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?

Naturally I love to smile and laugh a lot so it’s mostly effortlessly to make me laugh or happy. I enjoy and take delight in the smallest and simplest things like playing with my cat, modeling and putting others first even before me, seeing them smile and happy because of me makes me content and happy.

3.- Fashion & Runway Model , Beauty Queen, Miss Supranational Ghana 2022  , When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

Growing up, I always admired beauty queens and pretty models and coincidentally, most people said and urged me to go into modeling and pageantry but coming from a very strict family background, I dared not. After I started living on my own, I decided it was finally time to make my dream a reality even if it was just as a hobby. I started modeling about 2 years ago and pageant just early this year 2022. Miss Supranational Ghana is my first beauty pageant and yes I won.

My feelings right now? I had dreams of being a beauty queen and cat walking on runways during fashion shows. It took me years to start but within 2 years, I put all my dreams into reality and living them now. Sometimes I wish I had started earlier, would’ve gotten really really far than I have now but I am so proud of what I’ve accomplished and I have no regrets whatsoever. I am happy to be an inspiration and influencer to women today.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Sandrine in each activity carried out as a person and model?

Sandrine as a person is no different from being a model or beauty queen. She’s a complete package and an amazing combination of everything; selflessness, love, kindness, smart, funny, strong, principled, beautiful, goofy, lovely and just to name a few.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?

In this kind of world that we live in today, an international model or woman should be strong. Yes the strength to withstand whatever the world throws at you is the virtue of every woman.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

Yes I am aware of being an influential woman for girls who want to be models.

It is very important to me because I am being an inspiration to so many young girls and teenagers. I was just like these girls before, I was once in their shoes so I see myself in them, how I was and felt, what I went through. I do not want to let myself down by letting them down so I’m motivated by being an idol to do more.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

The first time I modeled wasn’t just in front of a video camera but on a tv show with many watching. For my first time for something that big, I should’ve been nervous but for some reasons I was very calmed and confident. It was until I got to the end of the stage when I saw many flashes from cameras that I realized it was all a reality. I felt accompanied, finally I did it! I was full of excitement.

First time as a beauty queen was a different feeling because runway modeling and beauty pageants are two different things. I had mixed feelings, happy, excited, thankful, worried and scared. I have people looking up to me, what if I let them down? What if things get so hard since it’s my first pageant, what would I do? These and many other questions I asked myself but then I thought to myself to relax, enjoy and take every one step at a time and I’m doing just fine.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

We are living in a social media network era where everything is practically social media. As we know, everything has an advantage and disadvantage including social media. You don’t know me personally and neither do I. But through social media, it was made possible to link hence making this interview possible. But then mind you, not everything we see on social media is real and true.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

Through my detailed posts, pictures and videos as well as stories, my followers get to know what I’m about. As much as possible, I respond to all comments under my posts positively. I may not be very good at making live videos but once in a while I do to interact with my fans and followers and answer all questions.

My favorite social network will be WhatsApp and Instagram. Facebook I like also and now having a little fun on ticktock as well.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

If you have the talent(s) and decide to sit on it because of some reasons, no one would know and be able to help you even if they could. You could do a lot more with the talent especially motivate yourself first, aspire to inspire others. More often because of fear, lack of support and confidence, we throw our talents out the window and end up regretting but when regrets starts setting in, we become more burdened. No matter what time it is, it’s never too late to take a step at working and showing your talent. The youth and the world need your talent, we need you.

But then parents have an important and major role to play in supporting their children with their talents. It’s time for them to stop imposing what they want their children to do on them and rather think about what the child wants as long as it won’t put him/in danger. Think about what makes them happy. A lot of children with the right support, necessary guidance, counseling and love have made it to the top with their talents. Push your children, support and be there for them and see how proud they make you.

11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

In these industries, fashion and beauty pageants, not everyone will support you, not everyone will be happy for you, well it’s with life in general. People will take advantage of you and your kindness and talent just for their own selfish gains. But what I’ve learnt so far is to first keep going, keep living, learn from your mistakes and if you need to start over again, do it. But show the world how strong you are, besides that’s the virtue of a woman right?

12.- Sandrine, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

Being a model for me hasn’t been easy and it hasn’t been difficult either. I’ve had fun and I’m enjoying every moment. I’ve made friends, built some connections, I’ve learnt and still learning. But I’ve had a few challenges where a model gets picked by 10 designers only because they know them or know someone they know and not because they meet the requirements. But I see the positive side of it because in the end, we get paid the same amount and most importantly, I have fun whiles working even if it’s with only one designer.

13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

Yes I like the entertainment industry, I like to act and I’m pretty much good at it. I’ve been to a few commercial auditions and done commercial adverts. The directors saw me to be very natural but I haven’t thought of being an actress. Now that you mentioned it, I’ll put it into consideration.

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

Unfortunately we’re living in a world where women are mostly oppressed and abused. But then I ask myself why some men are scared to allow women take roles and positions in societies? Is it because they fear women will do better and won’t be able to abuse them no more? I support women empowerment, inspiring women, women and gender equality. Women are naturally good at everything because of our natural qualities; multitasking, supportive, understanding, foreseeing just to mention a few. I strongly believe and agree to women given roles and important positions in societies, this will help curb the abuses some women go through.

15.- Sandrine, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

My motivation is aspiring to inspire. In terms of modeling, lots of people often look down on models, don’t see modeling as a career and a total waste of time. Some irresponsible models use their lifestyle to tarnish the images of responsible ones. So I am motivated to use my self and lifestyle to educate people especially the young ones and our parents on the importance of modeling and that one can be a responsible model as well as have other careers whiles enjoying their womanhood like being good daughters, sisters, friends, wives and mothers.

I really feel grateful when I get comments and messages that I inspire people or when someone tells me she looks up to me, I am her role model and she’s following me.

16.- Sandrine Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Ghana?

I love to travel but haven’t been to to many countries yet. I’ve been to Dubai, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

I would love to see more African countries like Zambia, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Namibia, Madagascar, Tanzania as well as some European countries and Canada.

There are so many place to visit and tour in Ghana. There’s the popular Boti falls, Kakum National park, Nzulezu, Elmina Castle, James town, Labadi beach, Osu Castle, Aburi botanical gardens and just to mention a few. These are all tourist places.
