Welcome Kimberly Moens!!!
1.- Kimberly, you were born in the Netherlands, What do you like about your hometown in the Netherlands? What are your hobbies?
Yes, I was born in the Netherlands. I moved around a lot though so my birthplace and now hometown are not the same. I now live in Middelburg, I like this town a lot cause it’s a beautiful city with loads of great architecture and many beautiful hidden places. I love the liveliness of the place, especially in the summer months, there is always something to do. Also, the way it keeps evolving is something I really appreciate about it.
2.- What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
That would be my dog Nero, he makes me really happy and gives me all the joy in the world. He makes me laugh with his foolish behavior and gives me so much joy with his unconditional love for me. He is the one thing I truly miss when I’m not home.
3.- International Model, Beauty Queen, Miss United Nations Globe 2022, Miss Netherlands United Nations, Mrs Heritage Netherlands 2022, Mrs Benelux Universe 2021 – When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I took my first step when my dear friend Thalita took her own life because of the many traumas woman face in this society. I wanted to create a platform where we can talk about the problems we face and how we can deal with them and eventually hopefully fix them. The feeling I get from achieving my goals and dreams is absolute euphoria and happiness, it means I will be able to grow the platform even further and we will get a step closer to our goals. Being recognized as an influential woman is very humbling and surreal to me, there are so many women in this world I look up to it’s a very special feeling to be this to others.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Kimberly in each activity carried out as a person and model?
I think I am very open, honest and welcoming, I like to empower others to own the freedom to be themselves and help them get to their greatness within.
5.- What is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?
I think she should be open-minded, true, honest, loyal, caring and unapologetically true to herself.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I don’t think I am fully aware of this. I still catch myself not believing people see me as a role model in any way cause I am still learning and developing myself to become the best version of myself.
I don’t think it’s important to be an idol, but I do think it’s important to be a good example for women everywhere and of all ages.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time is always a little scary and intimidating and to be honest, it still makes me nervous at first, but after a little bit of time and in a safe environment this will go away and you’ll get to enjoy your work. My first experience at a pageant was the same, it was intimidating because it was new, but it eventually thought me a lot and helped me grow as a person.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
It is a blessing and a curse. It is a powerful tool when the right people use it for the right goals, but it becomes a dangerous weapon when bad people abuse it to spread lies and hate.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? What’s your favorite social media?
I do not have a favorite platform, I am where I can reach the most people and right now that is Instagram and TikTok. My official page was recently blocked by Instagram for no clear reason, so I am growing a new account and hope to make this into a new useful platform. I am still learning how to use TikTok in a productive way, this is taking some time. I interact through my posts, stories, comments and replying to constructive dm’s.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
If you can dream it you can do it. Being scared won’t do anything for you, failure is a part of life. You succeed or you learn either way you win.
As parents always support your child’s dream no matter if you understand it or not, support them, build them up, be there when they fail and when they succeed. Be their safe place.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
The world is a big place and there is so much to learn, see and experience. Don’t go to your pageant to win, go there to network and learn, make your world bigger and you’ll always win.
12.- Kimberly, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
It’s never easy. It’s hard work and it’s a competitive world. You need to be confident and determent. My biggest obstacle is my age, I started this work late in life and unfortunately, the fashion world still cares a lot about the age of women. I also am Autistic with ADHD which doesn’t always make it easy to work with everyone because of the many misunderstanding about these neurodiversities.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I have and I think it would be amazing to try, but it is hard work and not an easy job so before doing that I would really like someone with experience to help me and teach me. I love the entertainment industry it’s a very exciting industry that is always moving and changing.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
Women deserve equality everywhere in the world and we are not free until we all are. I believe women will play a big role in the future of our societies and we will bring big changes. If only this generation of leaders would open up the way and stop being so stubborn and old-fashioned. We need change, big change.
15.- Kimberly, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is growing, learning, loving and being better so I can be of greater value to this world. I am grateful for waking up in good health, safety and peace every single day. I am grateful for all the blessings and lessons I receive every day. I am grateful for the people that support me and love me. I am grateful for their successes and am grateful that I can be there for them during their lessons. I could write a whole paper on the things I’m grateful for because its an important part of my daily life to show gratitude.
16.- Kimberly, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend visiting in the Netherlands?
I love to travel. Traveling gives me life, it keeps me healthy, happy and stable. I know many countries, haven’t visited all of them but I plan to in the future. I want to travel through Asia, Scandinavia and visit the Balkan in the near future. I also want to go to the South of Europe and visit several countries in Africa. If you ever visit the Netherlands I would of course recommend you to go to Amsterdam. I would also recommend Maastricht I think that is a beautiful place to visit and you should definitely visit some of our beaches.
