1.- Marie, you were born in Cameroon, What do you like about your hometown in Cameroon?
Certainly! Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts. As a Cameroonian woman, I cherish the richness of my hometown, embracing its vibrant cultural tapestry, diverse culinary delights, bustling markets, and the awe-inspiring natural landscapes, from lush rainforests to picturesque coastlines. Above all, the genuine warmth and friendliness of our people epitomize the essence of our renowned hospitality.
2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
I find fulfillment in reading, meditation, experimenting with new recipes, going to restaurants, frequent travel, and volunteering, which is a passion of mine. Exploring historical castles and buildings captivates me, and I’m intrigued by learning new languages. Joy and laughter stem from cherished moments with loved ones, fulfilling activities, new adventures, and finding humor in everyday life.
3.- International Model, Miss Global Cameroon 2023. When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
My journey into modeling and beauty pageants began gradually, sparked by a profound love for fashion, beauty, and self-expression. It all began in 2011 when I was elected 2nd dolphines of Miss Cameroon Centre Region. From there, I ventured into local competitions, attended modeling workshops, and honed my skills.
Becoming Miss Global Cameroon 2023 is a moment of immense pride and gratitude for me. It represents years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance finally paying off. Being acknowledged as an influential woman empowers me to inspire others, particularly young girls, to chase their dreams boldly and embrace their individuality. Knowing that my journey can positively impact and empower others fills me with fulfillment and joy.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Marie in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
Marie brings a distinctive elegance and grace to my roles as a beauty queen and model. In every activity I undertake, my poise and confidence shine through, setting me apart. Whether it’s on the runway or in a pageant, my signature style exudes sophistication and charm, leaving a lasting impression on everyone I encounter.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
To succeed as an international model, a woman must embody both versatility and confidence. Versatility enables models to adapt to diverse styles, looks, and demands from global fashion designers and brands. It involves seamlessly transitioning between various characters, moods, and aesthetics while exuding professionalism and self-assurance on the runway or in front of the camera. Confidence is essential for showcasing one’s unique beauty and style with poise and grace in the competitive world of modeling.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
It’s fulfilling for me to serve as an influencer for many girls worldwide. Through my social media posts, videos, and words of encouragement, I strive to guide them towards their dreams. I emphasize the importance of resilience and sacrifice in achieving their goals. I recognize the significance of positive role models, especially for those interested in modeling, as they provide inspiration and guidance. It’s an honor to contribute positively to someone’s aspirations and journey towards success.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
Modeling in front of a video camera for the first time might evoke a mix of excitement, nervousness, and perhaps a bit of self-consciousness as one adjusts to being in the spotlight and performing for the camera.
Similarly, participating in a beauty pageant for the first time could elicit feelings of anticipation, nervousness, and a desire to showcase oneself positively. There might also be a sense of excitement about the opportunity to compete and potentially win recognition for one’s appearance and talents.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Based on my experience as a graduate in Digital Marketing and Communication, I can affirm that the influence of social media today is profound. It acts as a versatile platform facilitating communication, self-expression, activism, and commerce. It has the ability to magnify voices, initiate movements, and mold public perceptions. Nonetheless, it confronts obstacles like misinformation, privacy infringements, and mental health implications. Its societal impact is dynamic, showcasing its potential for constructive evolution alongside its susceptibility to manipulation and adverse effects.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I enjoy maintaining close connections with my followers by responding to all comments on my posts, whether they’re videos or pictures. It’s essential for me to ensure they feel valued and appreciated since they shower me with love and positivity through their beautiful words. I strive to reciprocate that love and appreciation. As for my favorite social media platforms, I would say Facebook and Instagram are at the top of my list. While I’m also present on TikTok and X, I’m not as active there.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
For young individuals hesitant to take the next step despite possessing talent, I’d recommend the following:
- Reflect on yourself:Take time to understand your passions, strengths, and what truly drives you. Clarify your goals and aspirations.
- Begin with small steps:Break down your objectives into smaller, manageable tasks. By starting small, you can gradually build confidence and momentum.
- Find supportive networks:Surround yourself with mentors, peers, or professionals who can offer guidance and encouragement along your journey.
- Embrace setbacks:Recognize that failure is a natural part of growth. Learn from your mistakes and use them as stepping stones towards improvement.
- Envision success:Visualize where your talents could lead you in the future. By imagining success, you can overcome fears and uncertainties.
As for parents who may not support their children’s talents, Here’s my advice:
If parents do not support their children’s talents, it’s important for them to reassess their perspective. Encouraging and nurturing a child’s talents can boost their confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being. I would advise such parents to listen to their children, understand their passions, and provide positive reinforcement and opportunities for growth in their areas of talent. Ultimately, supporting children’s talents can lead to their personal fulfillment and success in the future.
See Zendaya, the American actress who portrayed the latest Spider-Man character, faced opposition from her father regarding her career choice. Despite his initial reluctance, she insisted it was acting or nothing. In response, her father encouraged her to excel, becoming a pillar of support throughout her journey, leading to her remarkable success today.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
From the world of fashion and beauty pageants, several important lessons emerge:
- Diversity and Inclusivity:Embracing diversity in body types, ethnicities, and cultures is crucial. Beauty comes in various forms, and celebrating this diversity fosters inclusivity and empowerment.
- Confidence and Self-Expression:Fashion and beauty pageants emphasize the importance of confidence and self-expression. Being comfortable in one’s skin and expressing oneself authentically are key aspects of personal growth and empowerment.
- Attention to Detail:The world of fashion and beauty pageants underscores the significance of paying attention to detail. From grooming to styling, every aspect contributes to creating a polished and cohesive look.
- Hard Work and Dedication:Success in fashion and beauty pageants often requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Contestants invest time and effort into physical fitness, talent development, and presentation skills, highlighting the value of commitment and determination in achieving goals.
- Adaptability and Creativity:Fashion trends evolve rapidly, and pageant contestants need to stay adaptable and creative to remain relevant. Flexibility and innovation are key attributes in navigating the ever-changing landscape of fashion and beauty.

12.- Marie, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
As a black model, the fashion industry can present various obstacles such as limited representation, racial bias, and stereotyping. Overcoming these challenges often requires resilience, determination, and advocacy for diversity and inclusion within the industry.
Some ways i used to overcome obstacles include:
- Building a Strong Network:Connecting with other professionals in the industry who share similar experiences can provide support and opportunities for advancement.
- Advocating for Inclusion: Speaking out against discriminatory practices and advocating for diversity and representation in fashion campaigns, runway shows, and editorial spreads can help challenge industry norms.
- Seeking Support from Agencies:Aligning with modeling agencies that prioritize diversity and actively promote their talents can provide a platform for visibility and opportunities.
- Maintaining Confidence and Resilience:Despite facing obstacles, maintaining self-confidence and resilience in the face of adversity is crucial for navigating the competitive fashion industry.
While progress has been made in recent years towards greater diversity and inclusivity in fashion, there is still work to be done to ensure equal opportunities for models of all backgrounds.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Certainly! I’m intrigued by the entertainment industry because of its creativity, diversity, and societal impact. Acting, in particular, captivates me with its emphasis on performance and storytelling, making it an exciting avenue to explore within the industry.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
The role of women in societies where they are still abused remains a critical issue requiring significant attention and change. While progress has been made globally, the future role of women in these societies depends on various factors including legal reforms, cultural shifts, and education. Empowering women through education, economic opportunities, and legal protections can lead to more equitable societies where women can thrive and contribute meaningfully. However, addressing deep-rooted cultural norms and systemic inequalities will require sustained efforts from both local and global communities to ensure a future where women are respected, valued, and treated equally.
15.- Marie, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
I’m passionate about volunteering and humanitarian work, collaborating with NGOs to support the unemployed and orphanages in Africa. Through my professional Facebook page, I share personal development tips and strategies for achieving goals while staying true to oneself.
I believe young people need mentorship to succeed despite challenges, urging them to pursue dreams while upholding values. My mission is empowering women and girls, promoting their strength, health, and leadership for a future free from poverty and violence. They deserve guidance to realize their potential and forge brighter paths.
And about been graterul, I express gratitude to God for life and personal growth. Today, I perceive a notable difference from who I was five years ago, feeling more open to people, less introverted, and significantly more understanding of others’ flaws and shortcomings.
16.- Marie, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Cameroon?
Certainly!
I’m familiar with countries like Congo Brazzaville, Morocco, and popular destinations such as France, Switzerland, Germany, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
And would like to visite Tanzania with Zanzibar Islands, USA, Dubaï and Australia.
About Cameroon, it offers a plethora of incredible places to explore.

- Douala: The economic capital, famous for its bustling port, lively nightlife, and beautiful coastline.
