1.- Lenka , tell me about the city where you were born and raised.,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born in Hradec Králové. But I grew up most of my life in the village of Dolany. I really liked it there from the point of view of nature and it was wonderfully peaceful. But I always wanted to move to a bigger city. I also like my homeland just because there are a lot of beautiful memories and moments with my family. My dad, an amazing guy, raised his two kids in this place and I am forever grateful to him. He is one of the few who believes in my dreams and didn’t break my wings.
2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or give you joy?
My hobbies are psychology, playing games on PC, spending time with friends, workout, cooking, music, traveling and other various activities. What makes me happiest? I guess it’s when I can do what I enjoy —> my other job is modeling and spending time with loved ones brings me joy.
3.- International Model, Fotomodelka Europy Finalist 2024 – Miss Continental Europe Czech Republic 2023 Ed. Miss Planet . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
All my life, since I was a child, I have been heading down this path. I’ve always liked to wear make-up and fancy clothes. I’ve loved fashion since I was a little girl and even when I’m not on stage or on the runway, my runway is mostly city streets. So my first step was to shoot my first portfolio in 2023. After the photos were released on instagram, I got an offer from Miss Europe Continental, I remember I was driving home from work and I got a message from MEC company saying they would love to see me among the finalists of the pageant, so in March I started working on myself a lot, workout, hair extensions, and of course I had to earn all the clothes and the pageant itself. My friends even helped me financially in some parts and gave me a huge support as well, which I would like to thank them here. . I flew to Italy for the pageant and met a lot of amazing girls and I’m still talking to some of them now.
Even though I didn’t bring home a crown for my country, I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of such a great project and that I was able to go abroad.
I am grateful for the time and resources I invested just to pursue my dream. I am grateful for the mistakes and the downs, the experiences and the happy memories, and looking back, I am grateful for everything that came my way and vice versa. I’m still running towards what I want, you just have to believe in yourself, or have supportive people close to you, just that you are the one who can do it, not just seeing the destination of your journey, but seeing the small steps first, and just step by step rising towards the goal. Vision, discipline, perseverance.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Lenka in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
I think such a unique thing with me is emotional intelligence. Like being there for those who need it. Whatever the show or competition is, I never try to go against other women in my industry, but rather the opposite, to help make everything perfect. I wish to be a successful model and achieve financial freedom, I would like to pass on my story to people and give them hope that they too have a chance to succeed, even if it seems there are no options, we will always find a way. The more obstacles, the better the life story.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
Every model, miss or any girl in this industry should behave elegantly and be a representation of the agency, organization or even be a representation of herself. Being beautiful is just a bonus to the character.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
A lot of girls wrote to me asking where they could participate in castings or how they could achieve participation in international competitions. I’m happy to answer their questions, because no one has ever answered such things for me. I think that girls nowadays, lack awareness about competitions and agencies, which is a pity. In my opinion, then girls would be more prepared for any competition or casting. It also makes me very happy to see that girls are getting back to me with supportive messages and I would like to thank everyone who sends me feedback for my work.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I remember that I was very excited for the first shoot, I knew inside that my journey would only begin here. Of course, I struggle with self-esteem and so the first time I was a bit self-conscious, I thought, um…am I pretty enough for all this? My first shoot was absolutely amazing as I had a great photographer,makeup artist for fitting and a makeup artist so I had a professional package right from the start to make the shoot turn out the best. From the first moment I fell in love with the job. I loved the photo shoots, fashion shows and the competition I performed in front of thousands of people. I didn’t feel stage fright, more like adrenaline. The catwalk, the photo studios are my second home.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I think they definitely have a big impact on all of us. Social sites have become a platform for advertising, a great opportunity to get visibility and make money. Social sites are a drug for a lot of users nowadays. I try to be on social sites as little as possible although it’s a paradox because for my work I need to be more active, but when I don’t have to I don’t spend time on social sites. There are two sides to every thing, advantages and disadvantages, so we should inform ourselves in both directions, what effect those social networks can have on us, for example. It’s a big topic that could be talked about for hours.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
My favourite platform is Instagram. I like its founding history, like the fact that the owner of instagram could have owned a cast of Facebook, but eventually decided to invent his own platform. And instagram was born. Instagram was originally a platform just for sharing photos, no statuses or messages. This platform was originally meant for visual artists,designers, photographers etc… to make themselves more visible through this app. I try to reply to my followers on their messages and so far I only share my work page with them, I would like to expand it further to more interesting content regarding information and interesting facts, we will see what happens.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
We all have a talent, but each of us has a different one –> we just need to find it and start developing it. There is no right advice or answer for people who don’t want to take the first step, they would have to answer it for themselves, rather I have a question for them…Would you make a change in your life that would move you to where you want to be? Why I ask, it’s very simple…life is like a gym, through regular exercise our muscles grow, our mental health gets better and we gain muscle mass, better results come and with that comes feeling good, so either we’re going to be the ones sitting on the bench watching others grow, gain muscle and see results, or we’re going to go work out too, find our weaknesses, our strengths. ..life was given to us as an opportunity, it’s up to us how we spend it.
Any parental support is wonderful, but when we don’t get it, there’s no need to worry, I’m of the opinion that we can find it all around us, even in places where we don’t expect it…. life throws us as tough obstacles as a given person can bear.
In the course of my work I meet great people who always leave a mark on me. A fortnight ago, I attended a show by an amazing designer who makes beautiful bridal and evening gowns. I had the opportunity to show two of her designs from her newer collection. We talked together about how hard she had it before she built her brand, what people can be like when they see you shifting, she is really a very intelligent and beautiful woman and she told me one god sentence. “I can see you’re a fighter, you’ll get where you want to go.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I learned to be more confident, to put my knowledge into practice and to work harder on myself and improve my skills. I see more into the world of fashion and fashion brands.
12.- Lenka , being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
It depends on what you consider hard, but I definitely know that this industry needs hard work and from a psychological point of view modeling is hard, although the environment lives in the opposite. This is an industry where you have to keep improving. Paradoxically, everyone sees models as just cocky and spoiled girls who don’t have to work, that it’s just a girl who gets in front of the lens and takes pictures, but that’s not what modeling and the fashion world and the pageant world is about. It’s a game with psyche, skills, knowledge…Modeling is not a hobby, modeling is a job! There’s nerves at times, practice, catwalk, posing, acting — you have to know what company you’re shooting for, how to look, and just time is money, so how good you are, that’s how much you get paid, that’s the reality. Obstacles can happen in modeling and mostly in life. There will always be people who want to see you down, but now comes the best part –> how do you face it? You get stopped by someone who’s barely two steps ahead of you. Will an obstacle stop you in your tracks just because it’s uncomfortable right now? It doesn’t mean it’s time to back down, on the contrary, life throws obstacles in our way on purpose, be it harder, but it’s all about willpower. Willpower teaches us whether to be comfortable , or to work hard and overcome it so that we are strong and no longer get thrown off by obstacles. Simple example –> Tearing down is easy, building up is harder.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Since I was a little girl, I either wanted to be a model or an actress and when I think about it, I do both, because as I mentioned above, modeling is not only photography, it’s also acting, I’ll explain right now…When you shoot photos for a brand that is cheerful and conveys joy to customers, you have to engage not only the body and sell the product, you have to express joy in the photo, engage the face.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I think that fundamentally we are all human beings and should have the same rights. I don’t agree with abuse in any way because it’s everyone’s body and everyone’s decision and when someone takes control of yourself in any way, it will mark you. The sad part is that it doesn’t just take away from women, it takes away from children and even men. I’ve heard many stories of abuse from men as well and I admire how those people can be strong and can make relationships work, for example. In my opinion, it doesn’t matter if it happens to women or men, in general such evil shouldn’t happen. We have been given life and the opportunity to do so, it is up to us how we use that opportunity, how we behave, humans can harm ourselves the most, but we can also choose to live differently. To cultivate more love and to help ourselves.
15.- Lenka , what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is to be a better person tomorrow than I am today. That means educating myself more, eating healthier and learning more about the world, giving and receiving love, giving joy and reducing negative energy. To always be one step ahead and never stop. I’m grateful for my family, the opportunities I’ve been given and everything I have. One should be grateful for everything they have and not give attention to negative thoughts of what they don’t have yet.
16.- Lenka , Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
Yes, I’ve grown to love travelling and what I love most about travelling, apart from seeing new places, is getting to know the culture and the people who live there. So far I have visited Greece, Italy, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia. I would love to go to Peru, New York, Maldives, Mauritius, Caribbean Islands, Philippines and other destinations I have written in a long list Haha.
