1.- Nelina, you were born inBulgaria, What do you like about your hometown in Bulgaria?
I was born in the city of Blagoevgrad, which is situated just 100 km from the capital of the country- Sofia. My native town is nested at the foot of the beautiful Rila mountain and is a cultural and education centre for the South-west of Bulgaria. The American University located in Blagoevgrad attracts many young people from abroad to come here and develop their perspectives for a future career by studying in a reputable institution. Otherwise the city offers a peaceful environment to the young people and I had the chance to live and grow in an excellent, supportive atmosphere. Four years ago, I arrived in Sofia, to continue with my further education. I could comment that if there is a strong will to go higher, it definitely happens, and I amhappy to see my dreams coming true.
2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
After my working day, I enjoy going to the spa or doing regular workouts in the gym. I realize this as my personal ME-time and it fully satisfies me , giving me the opportunity to relax and recover from the pressure of the day. Travelling is what increases my experiences and excitement, so I am trying each next year to add new destinations. I also appreciate the time spent with my closest relatives and their presence makes me feel happy and always recharges my inner energy and vividness.
3.- International Model, Miss Europe Continental Planet Edition – Finalist from Bulgaria. When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
As a woman, I cannot remain indifferent to fashion and aesthetics and since an early childhood I am so much captured by the idea of beauty. Practically, I have worked as a make-up model or have been intrigued to attend amateur photo sessions, but so far I have never been hired as a professional model. This is my first Beauty Contest I have taken part in. I feel extremely excited to have gone through this contest- Miss Europe Continental Planet Edition and to be Bulgarian representative, exemplifying all the specific features of my country. , As a finalist , I am due to express all my sincere gratitude to the team working for Miss Europe Continental ,who made it possible for me to face that exquisite opportunity and live through all those memorable emotions.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Nelina in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
The traits which comprise my personality and truly build up my inner strength are very few- persistence and perseverance . I have no fears of challenges and I am ready to sacrifice and try hard , because I strongly believe that doing my best is the only way to be satisfied and reach high levels. I am also convinced that performing only at the maximum could be noticed by people around.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
Being an international model means that a single feature is not enough to express the necessary complexity which includes gracefulness , tenderness, gentle affection , charisma and confidence. The last but not the least are characteristics such as behaviour, manner and intelligence.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
Many thanks for defining me as such. I think that at that early age, being so fragile, I could be a role model for other growing up girls that dreams mean a lot and faithfully following your goals , never giving up , managing your time and tasks, could lead you to the right place. Now, parallel to participating in the beauty contest, I am studying Finances and working in the banking field.. Personally, I think that life holds great opportunities for us, and our growth can be limitless. Everyone can achieve a lot under conditions that tirelessly attempt new heights every day. Honestly. I also have situations which are unsuccessful to me, but I keep believing that if I realize what I did not implement properly I will be able to avoid this mistake any longer. My next time should be based on my previous experiences and if I am cautious and realistic this will help. Each next attempt must be more energetic and enthusiastic, done in the best possible way.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
In order to be a successful model, posing in front of the camera, there are lots of requirements– flexibility, agility, adaptiveness, artistic craftsmanship to visualize moods, emotions and a variety of mental states. It presents a really demanding field to me- to feel and embody different outer appearances as a fashion/photo model. Acting in this field delivers great possibilities for creativity, self-expression. Performing professionally as a model is a new experience for me, feeding me with so much energy in a greatly dynamic and exciting area of life, also offering incomparable career opportunities. I was gifted with a rare chance so this was a deep excitement to be on stage catwalking, under the spotlight, experiencing my presence and expressing myself through movement and style. I felt myself confident and exhilarated, grasping the subtlety of the moment to show my best.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
If we have to undoubtedly consider the benefits of social media, we have to recognize that they deliver an unimaginative space for profiling, portraying and growing steadily, especially if there is digital literacy in how to use them. I think that other than that, there is only one rule- be free from pretense, show genuineness and authenticity, be your real self and identify yourself with quality posts and meaningful content. Social media provides us with accessibility and many people contact me in terms of new job opportunities, offering new chances. There is also a potential risk in social media communication, so we all know quite well how important it is not to be naïve and to avoid being misled or vulnerable.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
My social media profile is like a book, from where you could easily peer into my soul and observe my thoughts, or obtain a clear idea what kind of personality I am . I eagerly share my personal moments, which have been highly exciting for me, the usual pictures, videos, photo sessions, travels, shows and events. I always try to embed some ideas in my posts and most often I rely on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
Definitely, it’s not so easy to be successful-talent takes only 1%, all the rest 99% belong to hard work. What might it mean to have fears about making the next step? Without moving and without courage to dare, there is a danger of staying awkwardly stiff in the same place all your life. Of course, premeditating, pre-thinking your decisions and possible consequences is obligatory for a person to protect themselves from involuntary mistakes. Aiming at their best , everyone is able to make the right efforts. Efforts count, so even if you fail, it’s not the end of your path. Our national proverb says: There are no headaches based on extra experience. Making and doing are indivisible from failing, so never stop. The only failure is not to try. Family support is extremely important. From the position of being a mother one day, I am determined to sustain my child in a direction where the inner fondness takes the soul. Willingness of our children deserves respect and parents should feel responsible to strengthen the powers of their little ones. The inner drive must never be suffocated nor narrowed. Dreaming the best for our children , we are supposed to know how to advise them to be cautious while following personal goals, being brave, but at the same time careful. I would once again insist on that no matter that I am repeating it. Because parental fears and worries are not a reason to trap the growing children in parents’ feeling of certainty and safety. Children shouldn’t be enclosed in the domestic environment, they should be viewed as birds who one day fly the nest. Children and family are a whole tight unit, a micro cosmos where our consistency is born and our vulnerability is shielded protectively, safeguarded but also given wings to soar.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I learned a lot of life lessons, but mostly about visibility and confidence. Appearance contributes greatly to personal confidence . Events like this beauty contest totally change the idea we keep about ourselves and we and the way we perceive ourselves.
12.- Nelina, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
The beauty contest was held in Naples, Italy. My journey was thoroughly planned and organized. Personally, I struggled to maintain all my responsibilities , as a state university student who is also working in the field of finances, but now looking back, I could say that I dealt successfully with everything . I am proud to prove myself that I have the potential to succeed. I was so happy and so emotional to see my closest relatives coming to see me at the final event of the contest. I felt their cordial support while watching me from the area of the audience. They stayed a few more days, so we spent an unforgettable holiday together.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I am open to the upcoming , new opportunities and especially the ones I will consider deserve my attention and wake up my dreams. I really expect many chances for a promising professional career and job offers.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
A woman is an incredible creature, bearing the eternal powers of Mother Nature , epitomizing the beauty, fragile tenderness, kindness and geniality. Women are a true inspiration. The modern times we live in, give us immense freedom that lets women leave a mark or heritage to the next generation. Women possess the ability to wear many faces- a loving family, doing regular housework, or walking in the park to listen to the songs of the birds. Sadly, there are societies where women are disrespected or violated and we have to be sensitive to such issues. I really believe that in the modern world every human being or living creature develops its full capacity only if they have the freedom to pursue harmony and happiness.
15.- Nelina, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is based on the thought that every next day is a new challenge and I have to go through it in the best possible way, with curiosity, with enthusiasm and inner drive. I am really thankful for being healthy , which is one of the most common wish in our country when two people leave or depart- stay alive and healthy, is what they say to each other. So I am quite traditional in this- I am thankful for also having my closest relatives around me healthy. I consider that feeling of gratitude as a core of my motivation- I am grateful for everything I have and I have achieved so far, and this thought stimulates and encourages me to go further and higher.
16.- Nelina, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Bulgaria?
I would happily answer that I immensely like travelling , for me it is a synonym of happiness, great satisfaction and existing emotionally, intensively embracing life. Memories are what I mostly cherish after each single journey or unique place visited. So far I have been to some European countries. I also dream of visiting other distant and different destinations which can offer a remarkable historical past, culture , architectural landscape or divine nature.
My native country Bulgaria is like a real paradise, rich in various landforms magnetic mountains, golden beaches , picturesque villages , wonderful fresh food grown locally, hospitable , genuine and friendly people. It is incredible how a small territory like ours can be that rich of variety and places to admire. Bulgaria is definitely worth a visit. During the summer you can enjoy the Blaksea coast. If you have a preference for climbing, you could take a mountain trek around the shapes and cliffs of multiple mountainous landscapes we have in different parts of the country. You can even indulge yourself in skiing in winter . Over 30% of the territory of our country is occupied by mountains- Rila, Pirin, Rodopite, Stara planina, they are 39 all together , each with stunning breathtaking views.
