Exclusive interview, welcome Candie Dixon!!!!
1.- Candie, you were born in UK, What do you like about your hometown in UK?
I love everything about the uk. I feel like the holiday destinations here are just not marketed enough!! 7 years ago I was given a dream chance to live in Cornwall (that’s where I now live) and can I just say, this place is so stunning in the summer! From the fabulous beaches down south to the amazing countryside in the midlands, the UK really is full of beauty.
On top of that, I adore the shopping malls! I would certainly recommend to anyone visiting to take a day trip to the Trafford centre!! It’s shopping heaven!
2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
I love to be creative, so I like to draw a lot and play about with make up and different clothing / fashion looks! I studied art at school with A*’s all round so I certainly have a very artistic side to me!
3.-International Model. When do you decide to take your first steps as a model? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I decided to step into the modelling world 3 years ago. If I’m being honest, at first I felt a massive pressure to become something I’m not. This was due to the amount of trolling I received. But after the first 6months, the trolling surprisingly gave me confidence to actually BE MYSELF. So now, I genuinely feel a strong sense of acceptance within the community I have built. This in itself gives me such a drive to reach more people and spread the word that being yourself will ultimately bring you all the freedom you have ever desired.
Being recognised for just being me is amazing. I was bullied in school so I found it so hard growing up. Now, I just keep pushing because if I can help one person who felt the way I felt, then that’s good enough for me !!
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Candie in each activity carried out as model?
I most definitely stand out as ‘the girl who were herself’. And I know what your thinking! Your thinking something like “what the hell?” Haha … but let me just give you a quick background story!
I have CKD, chronic kidney disease, that effects my kidneys and bladder. My whole life I have suffered with incontinence. This of course, caused me to be horrendously bullied throughout school. And if I’m honest, still to this day trolls will try to bully me online.
When I came into the modelling industry 3 years ago, I actually tried to hide the illness. Until I met a friend who also had an illness, and she showed me that it really is okay to be yourself. So, I started to promote myself as the girl who wets herself, and it’s now my BIGGEST selling point!!
Aside from this, I feel my aura as a person shines through in everything i do! Having life experience give me an extra edge when working with such a diverse community and I honestly feel it helps me stand out and be relatable.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
To be honest with who you are and compassionate towards others in the industry
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
For me, I wish I had found someone I could look up too as a child/teenager. With so many fake personalities I feel so strongly about reaching the right audience and sending the right messages! I certainly haven’t yet reached a point of influencing that I want to reach, but I know in time I will. It’s genuinely what I live for. It’s the second most important thing to me aside my children.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera?
Oh my goodness I was so so nervous!!! But deep down I actually loved it!!! The directors are always so friendly and easy to get along with
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
It scares me !! I mean social media is so much more powerful then it use to be and it does worry me that some younger people could get the wrong impression.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media? Please tell me in which social media and online platforms can we admire you?
I try to reply to as many comments and messages as I possibly can! But as you can imagine it’s so so hard to keep up! I redirect my followers to my onlyfans where they can admire all of me, if you get my drift. (And it’s free!)
My favourite platform would have to be Facebook and Onlyfans. You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & TikTok just by simply searching my name. Or just Google me ? Haha
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
To those who have talents, I would say just reach for the stars and don’t stop. The secret to the universe is genuinely just to believe. Once you believe in your dreams and you push for them day after day you will start to notice a change.
For parents who stop or judge there kids for doing ANYTHING they believe in, my advice would be to take some time to self reflect. Projecting your own insecurities onto your kids will only result in history repeating itself .. and a child who grows up to settle for an easy life just to make you happy. Is that what you want?
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion?
Just to be myself, to be creative and to enjoy the journey.
12.- Candie , being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
No it has not been easy. The hardest part has been getting back up every time I’ve been knocked back. Standing out is hard and it’s a constant battle with changing algorithms, trolls and your own self esteem.
You have to spend a lot of time grounding yourself and not getting pulled in too much.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress (TV – Cine)? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I would love to be an actor. 100% .. I mean between you and me , some of my job is already acting! Haha some customs I am asked to do are so insane that I have to act !! I love watching soaps and entertainment- it’s definitely for me !
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
To push for far rights and never say no!! Die for the woman race !!!
15.- Candie , what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My kids motivate me. Without a constant flow of money my kids would have nothing but the bare minimum. 3 children cost a lot and a nice comfortable lifestyle is something I always will provide to that. That’s my drive.
I am grateful to my followers because ultimately, they are the ones who give me that.
16.- Candie , Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from UK?
I hate getting in planes and travelling ! I’m a home girl!!
