Isabel on July 9, 2023 was crowned as sovereign Mrs Universal Petite 2023 in addition to other titles and reigns as Mrs Universal Petite PR 2022 – International Mrs USA 2022 2nd RU. Isabel gives me an unmissable and fabulous interview, and we know her now!!!!
Welcome Isabel Vega!!!
1.- Isabel, you were born in Puerto Rico “La Isla del Encanto”, What do you like about your hometown in Puerto Rico?
I love the beautiful beaches and the gastronomy. Puerto Rico is truly an island of enchantment.
2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
I love journaling, reading and working out. Those hobbies help me connect with my self.
3.- International Model, Beauty queen, Mrs Universal Petite 2023 – Mrs Universal Petite PR 2022 – International Mrs USA 2022 2nd RU. When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
Pageantry and the beauty world have surely come a long way. I started within the pageantry industry in 2016 and it has helped me a lot with building my confidence and self esteem. For me pageantry is a platform that opens up many doors. As a pageant queen, being able to inspire others and being looked at as a role model is very motivating and allows me to make a change and impact in my community.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Isabel in each activity carried out as a person and model?
Always being transparent and treating others with respect despite the situations, have led me to be where I am today. I also consider myself to be a very dynamic person and I am always looking for new adventures.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
Persistency is key within this industry because you’re going to get told “no” more than “yes” and it will be up to you to continue that journey.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
Yes, and truly it is an honor being able to set that bar and those expectations for those girls. Also, showing them that you truly can be and do anything you set your mind to as long as you stay disciplined and dedicated.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I felt great. Every time that I step on stage or in front of a camera it’s an opportunity to showcase who I am and my own style!
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media can be a powerful tool both in good and bad ways! This is why as titleholders, beauty queens and influencers we need to share great tips, social causes and share positive and relatable information.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I love to give my followers the opportunity to ask questions which is why I use stickers on my stories a lot. Also, as a business woman myself Instagram and TikTok give me an opportunity to create relatable content as well as attract new customers.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I would tell them to go for it. I wish I would have gone for modeling years ago and because of how scared I was it took me a long time to get comfortable. Don’t let your dreams pass by because you will live with regret and the thought of “what if?”. As a parent myself, I support everything and anything my son wants to do because it gives him confidence and that would be my advice to parents.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I have learned to work hard for what I want in order to be successful. It will not happen overnight but God’s timing is perfect! I have also learned to love every stage of my life because it has allowed me to be where I am today.
12.- Isabel, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
It has not been easy! I come from a very low income family and years ago I would not have even dreamed of being where I am today. I had lack of self confidence and I was a very shy person. Pageantry has allowed me to love every bit of myself and has pushed me to step out of the box.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I would love to be in the entertainment industry. I love acting and conducting as well!
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
As women we have come a long way. We hold positions that we didn’t back in the day and we have shown the world that we are unstoppable.
15.- Isabel, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is my son and it is because of him that I go after my dreams and accomplish my goals. I want him to know that we set our own limits and we can overcome those limits.
16.- Isabel, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Puerto Rico?
I wish I could visit a new place every day! I love traveling and exploring new cultures but crazy enough I have only been out of the country twice in my entire life. I recommend touring the entire island because Puerto Rico is unique in every town, city and corner.
