Graceson Mahoney

It is an honor to introduce Graceson Mahoney, International Model, Beauty Queen, Miss Hobart USA, Miss Washington Petite from the United States. Graceson gives me a valuable interview and we now meet the extraordinary girl behind a crown. Graceson is one of the most beautiful faces I have had the opportunity to interview in 68 countries!!!

Welcome Graceson Mahoney!!!

1.- Graceson, you were born in USA, What do you like about your hometown in USA?

My hometown is small and not well known, but has a rich history. This May our post office will be celebrating 120 years of operation.

2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?

My main hobbies include horseback riding, cuddling with my puppy, and doing public appearances.

3.- International Model , Beauty Queen, Miss Hobart USA, Miss Washington Petite. When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

I first decided to try out pageants my junior year of Highschool when there was a table at lunch to sign up for a local Miss America pageant.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Graceson in each activity carried out as a person and model?

Diversity. I am a disabled model that lives in small town USA and my dream is to own a large ranch.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?

The main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model is confidence.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

I was not aware that I was an influential woman to so many young girls. I wouldn’t say that being an idol to young girls is important to me, being a role model for girls, especially young disabled girls is important to me because I want them to know that they can still achieve their wildest dreams.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

The first time I modeled in front of a video camera it was just for fun for an ad my dance studio was doing and they needed someone who could fit in the costume. My first time being at a pageant I was nervous, my dress didn’t fit, I had lost a bunch of weight so it was practically falling off me, I froze during my talent because I accidentally submitted the wrong audio and we had no interview so I had no clue what the judges thought of me.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

I think social media is very powerful and if used correctly can do a lot of good.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

I interact with my followers on Instagram mostly through the comments on my posts or by posting polls or Q&As on my story.

10.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

The most important lesson I have learned is don’t believe the media. Pageantry is not how the media portrays us. Models are not all starved or bitchy. Pageant girls aren’t ditzy a lot of the queens I know are doctors or business owners.

11.- Graceson, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

There are always going to be obstacles, my wheelchair is one of my biggest obstacles not every brand wants to work with a model who is disabled and not every studio is wheelchair accessible. I’ve been lucky that the photographer I work with does have an accessible studio.

12.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

I think every girl at some point has thought about being an actress. Have I seriously thought about it and took steps to pursue it like I have modeling though, no. I enjoy being in Washington state and the entertainment industry is just a little too stressful for me. I prefer the cattle industry.

13.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

I hope those women come to power and shift the power dynamic and are able to use their voices to bring peace like Italy, Herzegovina, or Iceland that have female leaders.

14.- Graceson, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

I feel grateful for the opportunities I’ve been presented everyday. I’ve competed at state and local pageants and will be competing at a national pageant this year. I have the opportunity to walk in New York Fashion Week this year as well that I’m looking forward to. My biggest motivation is honestly the song lyrics “I ain’t here for a long time, I’m here for a good time” I want to enjoy my life to the absolute fullest.

15.- Graceson, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from USA?

I do and don’t like to travel. I like to experience other places and cultures however the act of travel itself like being on a plane or getting through and airport is very stressful to me. I have visited Canada and London. I always recommend Washington if visiting the US but I also recommend Florida, Southern California and the Oregon coast.
