1.- Glykeria, you were born inGreece, What do you like about your hometown in Greece?

In Greece I really like the sea where it combines with the mountain, I like the Greek food, the good people and the warm sun. Greece is known for its beautiful seas and islands. We are one of the countries where we have a lot of tourism especially in the summer and the tourists come to enjoy the seas with the quality food we have fresh olive oil, moussaka and gyros.

2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?

I like going out with my friends, walking on the sea, laughing, going for coffee. I also like to exercise, watch my diet and live a healthy life.

I like to take pictures, dress up in bright colors, try new combinations of clothes, go out dancing with people and have a good time. Finally, I like to meet new people and do public relations in order to grow in my personal and professional life.

3.-International Model, Miss Tourism Greece International 2023 . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

To tell the truth, I did not expect to take part in the world beauty and tourism competition miss tourism international in 2023, nevertheless, a woman proposed to me, Stavroula Nikolaou, and she told me to trust her, and in the end I understood that she was right, I really liked it as an experience and I think I would take part in a global beauty pageant again. It is very beautiful for me personally to be recognizable to people and to be admired because you are a person where every person can be inspired.

For me it is a blessing that the world learned about me from this competition and admires me because I am different and special from other Greek women, I feel very lucky and very happy.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Glykeria in each activity carried out as a  beauty queen and model?

What makes me stand out is the good character I have. I am very friendly with people very kind and happy person. In the field of fashion and beauty,I have stood out for strong and distinct features of my face, which remind me of old-time and renaissance frescoes.In addition, I live in a country where most women have curves, I make the difference, I’m thin and that’s rare in Greece.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?

I think that in order for a model to stand out worldwide and to have great designed jobs and big fashion shows, the first thing she has to do is to be kind. Then a model should learn to be different from the rest of the models and stand out by having their own personality and personal style.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

For me, it is quite important to be an idol for teenage girls because it means that I have achieved my goal, stood out and done something right. Girls who want to be models and have me as a role model. It’s motivation to keep doing what I love to grow, To test and improve as a person. It gives me extra confidence when I have people who admire me.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

When I did my first photo shoot I remember like today being stressed but at the same time I felt grateful because I was finally able to do what I love. I felt unique as I posed for the camera and that day the love and passion I have with the lens and modeling was confirmed. When it was announced to me that I will go to Malaysia to represent my country Greece at first I didn’t believe it I was very stressed Because it was a very long journey for me I went through three airports but it was worth it. I felt very honored and very excited to represent my country, I am grateful because I met new people from many countries and I was able to learn the culture and lifestyle of people in Malaysia.

Pressing enough because it is not easy to take part in a world competition many hours a day we rehearsed for the day of the final and although I did not get the proper support from my country I stepped firmly on my feet.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

I think that social media is quite useful and to become a member of society it is important to have social media. Social media helps a lot in the communication of people when there is a long distance between them, it also helps in your professional development, to make money, to be known by the world, but it is also good entertainment.

Certainly in social media there are toxic people where normally there shouldn’t be, nevertheless you have to learn to be strong and not pay attention to them just like there are good people so there are also bad people. There are many risks of fraud however if someone is properly informed they will have no problem at all.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

I personally like to have interaction between myself and my followers on social media. This is how you show enthusiasm for the creator and support for something he is doing.

My favorite app is Instagram because I upload photos of my modeling work and get feedback, reactions, comments and I can communicate with my fans. In addition, people give me many ideas for future professional collaborations.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

I believe that the advice I would give them is to follow their dreams and not listen to anyone because the world in today’s time we live in does not want our good, does not want us to evolve and is very jealous.

I will suggest them to have a strong stomach to learn to listen to experts in the space so that they can evolve, learn to set limits, respect and love themselves. I have learned that if you love yourself then you can go ahead and do many things.

I would advise the parents of these children to stand by their children and support them, because if they don’t do what they want now they will be pushed away and it will be too late to do it. I am very lucky where I had parents who supported me in my dreams and still support me because there is nothing nicer than having your parent support you.

11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

In the field of fashion and beauty I learned to be careful, to step firmly on my feet, to respect myself and that there is great exploitation by many people.

I learned to say no to dirty immoral proposals made to me. Space made me stronger and I learned many life lessons. I learned how to work with new people worldwide.

12.- Glykeria, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?

For me no it was not easy to become a model there were many difficulties in my way. Everyone thinks that being a model means you just wear clothes and pose for the camera.

Being a model is not just posing for the lens, it means running and it means endless hours out of your day. You will be fasting for many to get a photo shoot. it’s soul-destroying because you’ll hear a lot of bad reviews about your face and body, but you still have to show that it doesn’t affect you. You make sacrifices to run to castings and constantly get rejected.

In addition, you have to learn to live in the competition because there are many girl models and there is a possibility that you will not get the job and that girl will get it. For me, the only solution is to love what you do and to have by your side a very good family and good people who love you to advise you and give you strength and courage.

13.-   You are dancer . Have you ever thought of becoming an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

Yes, I am a dancer, I try to express myself through the space. The truth is that I had an offer from a great director in Greece to act in a movie, however I did not accept it for personal reasons.

For a while I strongly thought about getting involved in acting, but now it’s not something I’m interested in. I don’t know what I will do in the future I will see.

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

I feel sad for the women who have been abused and who continue to be abused. The country doesn’t matter, I think, because it’s a global phenomenon. My personal opinion is that we should respect every single woman on this planet, help her, support her and show her love.

The woman is the one where she gives birth and brings to the world the miracle for the perpetuation of humanity. People who have the audacity to raise a hand on a woman should be punished very severely. Also, women who are in danger and receive any kind of violence should learn to speak up. I am also a woman, I support women, I love them and I am by their side.

15.- Glykeria, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

What makes me feel grateful every day is that I have my health, I am well, I live, I breathe, I have my family and I do what I love.

16.- Glykeria, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Greece?

I like to travel, I have even been to Poland where I danced classical ballet and modern dance with my group. And I’ve been to Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium on vacation because my sister lives there. And recently I went to Malaysia for the Tourism International beauty pageant where I really enjoyed it and I would like to go again. An ideal destination for me is Dubai and India.

17.- You and me (Jaime William) are going to play ping pong, I will tell you one word and you will answer with another word that comes to your mind.

Marriage = churches
Childhood = love
Love = hugs
Greece = islands
Trip = airplane
Abortion = sad
Dance = oriental
Sing = microphone
Europe = summer
America = burger
Sport = volleyball
Money = shopping
Parents = life
Dreams = sleep
Passion = modeling
Madness percentage = laugh
Character = minnie

But of all those words, the one that comes to mind most is “Sport”. I think that you can get to know a person better through a sport, because it prevents the awkward silence that probably exists between two people in a cafe and you just look the other in the eyes. It removes stress and you are more ready and comfortable to meet someone.

18.- Glykeria, your last words or final tips

I would like to thank you for the wonderful interview, also I would like to remind young people once again to follow their dreams, surpass themselves, and not listen to the rest of the people around them. Life is short so we should enjoy it in every way, travel, meet new people and contribute to society in our own way. Thank you very much!
