It is an honor to present from Russia to Angelica Petrova, a young model. Angelica opened her heart to us in a spectacular interview.
Thank you very much for having me as part of this project.
1.- Angelica, you were born in Russia, currently living in USA, What do you like about your hometown in Russia? What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
Good afternoon.
Yes, you’re right, I was born in Russia, in a city located on the banks of the Volga River. The city is famous for the fact that it produces cars “LADA” and “ZHIGULI”. Soon my family moved to Moscow. Therefore, I faintly remember the city of Togliatti. I like Moscow for its dynamism, crazy energy and in this city there are a lot of ambitious people with great goals.
My hobby is modeling and cartoon shooting. I have my own YouTube channel, on which I upload cartoons of my own production.
Anything can make me laugh. I am a very cheerful and friendly person.
And if I have a misunderstanding with my family or friends, I myself try to make them laugh and correct the misunderstanding. For several years now I have been cultivating diplomatic qualities in myself. I do not like to spend time quarreling or in resentment.
2.- How did the U.S. receive you?
America has received me wonderfully. My English was weak when I entered 8th grade of middle school. However, I received tremendous help and support from teachers and students. It was a difficult year in terms of studying, but I achieved all grades “A” at the end of the 1st year of attending an American school.
3.- When do you decide to take your first steps as a model in beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized woman today?
The first time I thought about modeling was at the age of 14, but I actually started 2 years ago. I love this hobby of mine and I love the results of my work, photos. I like the people around me – bright, positive, open to everything new and beautiful. I call beautiful people who have an ambitious fire burning in their eyes. It seems to me that it’s very useful for young girls to take modeling and photo posing lessons. These classes give self-confidence and bring up in girls a desire to be beautiful, vibrant. These are the feelings I have when I achieve my dreams. It feels like a huge turn in my life that creates a strong base for my bright future.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Angelica in each activity carried out as a person and a model?
Responsibility. I clearly realize that I and only I myself am responsible for the quality of my life. I also responsibly approach any task and I always keep my promises. If I have a task, I will definitely deal with it, no matter how hard it is for me. I also like to bring any business I have to an end.
5.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I was nervous the first time I modeled in front of the camera. My arms and legs seemed to be wooden and I wasn’t sure if I was doing a good job. But despite this, I really liked the result of my work and as I gained experience, the excitement came to replace the worry of the process. As for my first pageant, let’s just say it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I was very nervous, but I just took a deep breath, put on my invisible crown and rocked the stage!
6.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I think in the 21st century the influence of social networks is enormous. Each person in this world has an opportunity to express themselves and their talents to the world, to assemble an army of fans and become famous.
7.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
My advice would be – You should always pursue your dream no matter what. Nothing and nobody should ever stop you. I wish parents to always support their children in all their new hobbies and projects. It is in childhood that a child has the greatest chance of finding his or her true passion.
8.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I learned to feel confident on stage, to cope with nervousness and walk beautifully. But the most important thing of all is that in this industry I am surrounded by people who are bright, purposeful, dedicated, and at the same time are very beautiful (fire is burning in their eyes) and stylish. I cultivate these qualities in my character.
9.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
This is a sad fact of modern society. I think that the problem is the insufficient development of education and the result is the dependency of women. First of all, it is necessary to increase the level of education and medicine in the country. And also, it is important to sponsor the creation of special centers to assist women in difficult situations.
10.- Angelica, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
For some time I was fond of reading motivational books. I can say with confidence that of the two types of motivation – external and internal, internal motivation prevails in me. It is based on my values, dreams and desires and is related to the needs of personal growth, self-realization and training. Of course, external motivation – public recognition, praise of friends, etc. is also important.
11.- Angelica Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Russia, your country?
I like traveling very much. Travels arouse interests in life, inspire new adventures and searches. Traveling changes consciousness, and this gives a new look at oneself and at the world.
In my 18 years, I have not visited much, only England, Japan, the Emirates, Cyprus, Turkey, Mexico, and of course the USA and Russia. In the near future I would like to visit the top of the world – the North Pole, and I want to get there on an icebreaker.
In Moscow, I would recommend visiting Red Square – the Heart of not only Moscow, but of the whole Russia, Old Arbat – The Soul of Moscow, and taking a mini cruise on a ship along the Moscow River.

I would like to wish each person to surround themselves with people who are bright, positive, individual, open, courageous and purposeful. Those people are not afraid to test themselves, open new pages in their lives. It is important because our surroundings make us who we are. Also believe in yourself and your strength. Remove from your life the people who pull you down. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. The one who does nothing is not mistaken. Do not give up! Tomorrow will be a new day and new opportunities. Tomorrow will be better.
