Priya Bagga – Miss Universe Great Britain 2020 Finalist
I am British born, but of Indian heritage. I am proud of my culture and I love to embrace every aspect of it.
I am a lawyer and I love it…I love being able to help others, especially those who need it the most.
I started the modelling at 17 as I was scouted at college.
. It wasn’t something that I applied for, I was selected for a shoot and I just went with it. I started to take it more serious later on in life.
Being true to who you are, and remembering where you came from. It’s important to remain humble and to always been yourself.
Putting yourself in a positive mindset is very important. It can be hard but I think once you have mastered this, it’s the key to success in many realms.
If they were blessed with a beautiful talent then this was given to them for a reason. I would advise that there is no harm in trying because at the end of the day they will end up regretting it later on in live if they did not at least just try.
The true value of the person is humility, solidarity, helping others and justice.
My guest today shows us the true beauty of a woman, of a queen.
It is an honor to present from Great Britain the beautiful Priya Bagga, Lawyer, Miss Eco 2015, Miss Asiana 2018, Miss Asian Face of England 2019 and Miss Universe Great Britain 2020 Finalist.

1.- Priya, you were born in Great Britain, Do you have Indian ancestry? What do you like about your hometown? What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
I am British born, but of Indian heritage. I am proud of my culture and I love to embrace every aspect of it. My hobbies will always include the great outdoors as I absolutely love nature. I love going on long adventures in the countryside, running marathons and photography, involving taking pictures of flowers especially.
2.- Are you lawyer? Why did you decide to embrace this profession? What do you like most about your profession?
Yes I am a lawyer and I love it. I have always had a passion for making a positive change. I feel like law is the driving force for positive change hence why I decided to study the subject. I believe in justice and making sure justice is served for the greater good.
I love being able to help others, especially those who need it the most.
3.- Model, beauty queen, Miss Eco Huddersfield 2015 , Miss Asian Face of England 2018 , Miss Asiana 2018 and Miss Universe Great Britain 2020 National Finalist, When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized woman today?
I started the modelling at 17 as I was scouted at college. It wasn’t something that I applied for, I was selected for a shoot and I just went with it. I started to take it more serious later on in life.
I took my first steps in pageantry in 2015 where I won Miss Eco Huddersfield. From then I took a break until 2018 where I won further titles. I can honestly say that it was one of the best things I ever did, and I am so grateful for everything regarding pageantry.
I am beyond grateful for being able to fulfil my goals. I have worked hard and still continue to do so. So I am very thankful.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Priya in each activity carried out as a person?
Compassion and understanding. I feel like I am a very relatable person. I came from a humble family who have taught me values that make me the person I am today.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an beauty queen?
Being true to who you are, and remembering where you came from. It’s important to remain humble and to always been yourself.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for many girls who want to be beauty queen? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I believe this is very important as winning a pageant is not only an honor but also a responsibility. You are given a platform, and you can decide how to use this platform. It a gift to help others and to Influence others in a positive way as many will look up to you.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I felt nervous at first as it was something new and I felt the same about pageantry initially too. I had to learn to not allow my fear to take control of my thinking. Putting yourself in a positive mindset is very important. It can be hard but I think once you have mastered this, it’s the key to success in many realms.
8.- What do you think about the power of social networks today?
I think with how the world is evolving and adapting social media is and has become a huge platform. This can be a good thing, when used correctly to help others and to Influence others in a positive way. However some people do misuse this power which is very unfortunate
9.- Whats your favorite social network?
I would say Instagram as I like photography and because you can connect with people who have similar interests.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
They should not fear it at all. If they were blessed with a beautiful talent then this was given to them for a reason. I would advise that there is no harm in trying because at the end of the day they will end up regretting it later on in live if they did not at least just try.
When it comes to advising parents this is difficult, as I am not a parent myself. And ofcourse a parent will have their child’s best interests at heart always. I think the advice I would give is that allow your child to explore their talent as a hobbie first so it doesnt interfere with their education as that is exceptionally important. I am a huge advocate for the power of education as a have founded the Shine Bright Project. This is all about breaking the cycle of poverty through the power of education.
11.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I have always wanted to be an actress. My dream job !
12.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I love empowering women, I love the movement of female power and equality. I really do hope and believe that women in these small societies will be heard and a major change will take place. I founded a platform called the Happy Heart Project, although this name may change soon. This all about women and helping women all around the world suffering from the illegal cultural harms educating them and allowing them to live a life without judgement.
13.- Priya, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
I am grateful for absolutely everything. I believe that I am so blessed and I am beyond thankful for everything and everyone in my life. I know that everything in life happens for a reason, good or bad so I think that is my motivation as well as my personal movement in wanting to make a change in the world.
