Born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand, Lisa Fullwood carries with her the strength of nature, resilience and creativity. At the age of twelve, she relocated to Australia, a move that shaped her personal and professional growth while keeping her deeply connected to her roots. New Zealand’s natural beauty — from mountain hikes and waterfalls to soothing hot spring pools — remains a powerful source of inspiration in her life.
Lisa is far more than a beauty queen. As a Mrs Galaxy Australia National Finalist 2026, alongside her international titles including Ms British Empire International Winner, she represents perseverance, authenticity and purpose. Her pageant journey began at just five years old and has been defined by determination, self-belief and the courage to keep going, even after setbacks. Every title she has earned reflects years of commitment and personal evolution.
What truly sets Lisa apart is her passion for sustainable fashion. Upcycling is at the heart of her creative identity; each outfit she wears during the Mrs Galaxy competition is personally designed and crafted from pre-loved clothing. Through this, she proves that elegance can coexist with responsibility and innovation.
Having experienced bullying and body insecurities in her youth, Lisa now uses her platform to inspire women and girls worldwide. Her message is clear and empowering: confidence is built through resilience, self-love and staying true to who you are.

1.- Lisa, tell me about the city where you were born and raised, what do you like about your hometown?
I was born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand and lived there for 12 years before moving to Australia. I love New Zealands natural beauty, the mountain hikes and waterfalls to the hot spring pools I enjoyed so much as a child.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
Upcycling fashion is my passion, designing new pieces from pre-loved clothing makes me happy. I’m proud to be upcycling every judged round outfit in Mrs Galaxy.
3.- Mrs Galaxy Australia National Finalist 2026, Ms British Empire International Winner 2019, Miss Sunburst Int 2RU held in Atlanta USA 2017 When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I began my pageant journey at five years old in a catwalk competition at my local mall. Achieving my dreams is exhilarating, especially because every title was earned through persistence, from winning Ms British Empire on my fourth attempt after previously placing First Runner-Up and travelling to London and Sri Lanka to compete, to finally claiming a local title on my seventh attempt after placing Runner-Up in three previous years.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Lisa in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
My distinctive stamp is the over and above effort I put into everything I do, from ongoing interview and catwalk training, to designing and making my own outfits. I’m always striving to make the biggest impact possible.”
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?
Resilience. An international model must believe in herself, adapt to challenges, handle rejection with grace and continue growing while staying true to who she is.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
It’s always been my dream to be a role model and inspire others. I know how challenging insecurities can be, I was bullied in primary school over my body. I want girls to know they’re not alone and to understand that majority of people have something they may not love about themselves and that’s normal. Pageantry has transformed how I see and love my body; stepping on stage and hearing the crowd cheer gave me a complete 180 on my body confidence and that empowerment is something I hope to share with others.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time I stepped onto a pageant stage, I was extremely nervous, I didn’t know what to do, anxious and afraid of failure. I feel blessed that I knew the best thing for me to do is work on being comfortable in an uncomfortable situation, until it becomes comfortable. That is how I overcame that feeling and that mindset helped me build the confidence I now proudly carry on stage.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media is incredibly powerful, letting us connect with the world instantly. It also comes with responsibility, we should be mindful of our words and use it in a kind, positive and impactful way.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
Facebook is my favourite because it feels more personal and private, however I’m also embracing Instagram as a great way to inspire and reach a wider audience.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I’d tell young people that stepping out of your comfort zone is the key, practicing being uncomfortable helps you grow. You never know until you try and you might discover you enjoy it more than you imagined!
For parents, I’d say supporting your child’s talents, even if it feels unfamiliar, can give them the confidence to pursue their dreams and even if they fail at first, each attempt helps them learn and grow to come back even stronger the next time.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I’ve learned resilience and the importance of trying again. Majority of pageants and competitions I’ve won came after previous attempts, gaining experience and knowledge along the way. Fun fact, I own 32 Runner-Up sashes in either 2nd or 3rd place, I used to joke I had a “runner-up curse”.
12.- Lisa, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Being a model has never been completely easy, there are always obstacles, from nerves and self-doubt to the challenges of learning new skills. I overcame them by practicing relentlessly, stepping out of my comfort zone and turning every setback into an opportunity to grow.

13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Yes, absolutely! I think I’d make a good actress, though I haven’t explored that path yet. This question has inspired me to start looking into it.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I believe women will continue to rise and create change, even in societies where they face challenges. History shows us it’s posible, New Zealand was the first country to allow women to vote, proving that progress can happen and we are capable of continuing it.
15.- Lisa, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
I will always be incredible grateful to my very supportive family, friends and of course my sponsors during my Galaxy Pageants journey CPC Conveyancing, Andre Bellaire Photography, The Glasses Lady, Ollera Beauty and Fully Marine. I’m grateful to Galaxy Pageants Australia for inspiring me to do more kind acts in my community.
My motivation is making the world a kinder place. Every day, I’m grateful for my empathetic heart, kind nature and positive outlook that allows me to connect with and inspire others.
16.- Lisa, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I love traveling! In Australia, I’d recommend Queensland for sunny weather and theme parks and New South Wales/Sydney for hiking and adventure. I’d also love to visit Paris and Italy.
Through pageantry, I’ve been blessed to travel widely, including Atlanta USA (Miss Sunburst International), London and Sri Lanka (British Empire International), Bali (Miss Sunset Coast International), Darwin (Swimsuit Supermodel Intenational), Queensland (Miss V8 Supercars, State of Origin and Swimsuit USA), Melbourne (Miss Humanity Austrlia and Miss Football Fever Australia) and soon Sydney for Mrs Galaxy Australia April 29th – May 2nd.
