1.- Ana, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born in a different country but moved to Slovenia when I was young due to the financial struggles and mainly because my parents wanted better life opportunities for me and my brother. I grew up in a small town called Litija, I did move out of there a while ago, but it is still one of my favourite places in the entire world. It holds quite a lot of memories for me, although my first year’s there were a bit of struggle with being new and not speaking Slovenian language, I did overcome those struggles and they did shape me into the person I am today. Because of that I am extremely grateful and happy I got a chance at picking up the school I wanted, having good medical system and so on. Litija will always have a special place in my heart!
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
Hobbies are something I quite enjoy. I am a bit of hyperactive person so I like to do a lot of things otherwise I do tend to get bored easily. Learning new languages and everything about the culture is one of my favourite hobby. Currently I am learning Italian.
I picked up basic sawing and creating new looks and revamping old clothing is something I do when I am stressed. Also, I do love all sorts of adrenaline adventures, listening to music and traveling around the globe, trying new food, vine tasting, the list goes on.
3.-International Model, Miss Heritage Slovenia 2024 – Miss Aura Slovenia 2023 – Miss Earth Slovenia Air 2021 – World Top Model Slovenia 2019 . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
My road into fashion and pageantry was totally spontaneous. Being rather tall among my classmates, people always instructed my parents I should do something related to fashion. And they did sign me up for modeling academy and I fell in love with everything fashion related. My grandma was also a sewer, she sowed and made different type of garments, she was my true inspiration and my fuel for every step in my career.
Last year I represented Slovenia in Miss Aura International in Turkey, such a fun experience and my first ever International Miss Competition of that calibre abroad. I learned quite a few things that I plan do use this year.
Quite frankly South Africa was not on my bingo card for this year, but it happened. I got an amazing offer from a Balkan national director at the beginning of the year and I will be proudly presenting my country Slovenia at the Miss Heritage Global this September. The words cannot describe the excitement I am feeling from the moment contract was finalized. The preparations are undergoing, and they are a bit challenging, but I do have faith in myself and faith in my people who are giving me energy to be and present my country in the shiniest of lights. Definitely stay tuned for all the exciting announcements and fun ride to Afrika. I will also be celebrating my 24th birthday there, so I am even more excited for that.
For me achieving my dreams and passions and being recognized as an influential woman did evoke a wide range of feelings, including pride, fulfillment, gratitude, but also a sense of responsibility. It’s a validation for my hard work and dedication, and it also brings a sense of purpose knowing that I am making a positive impact on others. Overall, it’s a deeply rewarding experience!
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Ana in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
Ana’s distinctive stamp as a beauty queen and model lies in her unique blend of grace, confidence, professionalism, advocacy, and empowerment. She brings a fresh and inspiring perspective to the industry, making a positive impact wherever she goes. I want Ana to be just like your sister or your best friend or maybe your cousin you look up to and ask for advice any time you need. To put it simply a ray of sunshine. Those are the words I told myself before entering the modeling industry and for everyday life I also take these as guidelines. Being always optimistic and positive is something that makes me who I am, no matter the circumstances I can overcome everything.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
The main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model is confidence. Confidence is key in the competitive world of modeling as it helps models exude poise, grace, and charisma on the runway and in front of the camera. Additionally, confidence allows models to showcase their unique beauty and personality, making them stand out in the industry. Other important virtues for international models include professionalism, perseverance, and a strong work ethic. All of these can be applied to any other carrier as well as in life in general.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
Personally, I am very grateful for the opportunity I have to spread awareness on different topics and for the platform pageantry allows me to have, where I want to encourage young girls to take a leap of faith and pursue their dream. To tell people that everything is possible just hard work and dedication are separating them from their dream. I am somewhat of a fashion mom. Sharing advice and personal experience is fulfilling and at the end of the day all my platforms are for me to share my context, creativity and an outlet for me to be simply me.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I would dare to say fashion in general for me was love at first sight. By chance I stumbled into this world, but I can confidently say that without it my life would not be complete. Modeling gave me an insight into the fashion industry. From my adolescent years I wanted to be a fashion designer, but the more I did modeling, the more I realized that fashion designer is not the job for me that’s when I discovered digital marketing and fashion marketing a career, I hope to pursue in the future.
Beauty pageants bring a lot of joy to me. Meeting all the Queens around the Globe will always be a special feeling. Learning about different culture, tasting the food and listening to music and of course a heatly dose of competition trills me. Being able to compete is Beaty pageant also brings me sense of being proud. Slovenia gave me abundance of opportunities, so I love giving a small dosage back. Being able to represent my small country which consist of only 2M people and show its beautiful heritage, nature, traditions is a unique feeling. Along side that I’m very grateful to get a platform, where I can state my opinion, share my knowledge, passion, culture and being able to learn from girl about their interests and cultures is an empowering feeling.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
The power of social media today is undeniable and far-reaching. Social media has revolutionized the way we communicate, connect, and share information on a global scale. That can be an amazing thing. It has the ability to amplify voices, raise awareness about important issues, mobilize communities, and create social change.
Social media platforms provide a space for individuals to express themselves, share their stories, and connect with others who share similar interests or experiences. It has democratized communication and enabled marginalized groups to have a platform to advocate for their rights and use their voices.
However, the power of social media also comes with challenges, such as the spread of misinformation, cyberbullying, invasion of privacy, and the negative impact on mental health, which can be quite scary. I think it’s important for users to be critical consumers of information, practice digital literacy, and engage in healthy online behaviours.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
Direct messages are my favourite way of interacting with my followers. Talking to them and getting to know them brings me joy. They often recommend new music or interesting travel destination to me.
Funnily enough my favourite social media is Pinterest. I tend to create vision boards for everything in life hence I am a visual type of person. Creating different moods and collecting photos is one of the most relaxing things. I try to take at least 15 min every day to browse and add new photos to my boards, visualise and make plans for my future. It is also one of my ways of fashion inspiration while on my styling photo sessions.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I would advise them to start by believing in themselves and their abilities. That is the most important thing of all. Manifesting their dreams into reality. It’s normal to feel fear or uncertainty when pursuing something new, but taking small, manageable steps towards their goals can help build confidence over time. Surrounding themselves with supportive friends, mentors, or resources can also provide encouragement and guidance.
As for parents who may not support their children’s talents, I would suggest having open and honest conversations with them to understand their concerns and perspectives. It’s important for parents to recognize and nurture their children’s passions and talents, even if they don’t align with their own expectations or desires. Encouraging dialogue and finding common ground can help bridge the gap and foster a supportive environment for the child to pursue their aspirations.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I learned quite a few good life lessons.
The world of fashion and beauty pageants can impart several important lessons. Something that I learn and will be forever grateful is healthy body image I developed and confidence is crucial in both industries. Participants learn to embrace and showcase their unique qualities and strengths, which can be empowering lessons applicable in various aspects of life.
Secondly resilience. Facing competition and judgment teaches resilience. Contestants learn to handle rejection, criticism, and setbacks with grace and determination, which are valuable skills in navigating life’s challenges.
Something not a lot of people think about when they think of fashion and pageantry is that we are presenters. The emphasis on presentation underscores the importance of personal grooming, styling, and poise. Participants learn how to present themselves effectively, understanding the impact of their image and how it influences perceptions.
Increasingly, there’s a push for diversity and inclusivity in fashion and beauty pageants. Participants and audiences alike learn to appreciate beauty in all its forms, celebrating diversity in ethnicity, body type, and background.
Engaging in pageants often fosters a sense of community, we are all sisters. We learn the value of networking, building relationships, and supporting one another, which can lead to collaboration and opportunities beyond the pageant world.
And one of the most powerful tools is platform. Many pageant contestants as well as myself use their platform to advocate for social causes and raise awareness about important issues, while also showing their personality and flare.
12.- Ana, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Self image and my relationship with food took a tremendous hit at the beginning of my career, I even had to take a break once just because, my mental health was not the greatest. But after rain sun shines even brighter. So, I had to relearn good eating habits, step by step. Second time around I focused a lot more on my well-being and mental health. I would lie if I told you everything is great not, I sometimes still struggle with the food intake but knowing what my triggers are and changing my diet to a meatless flexitarian gives me a sense of control. Everyday I try to better my mindset and indulge in conversation about these topics with others.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Acting is one of the jobs that I admire and as a model you also have to learn standard face expression but not to the extent of an actor or an actress. I would love to try my luck in acting for fun, however not professionally, but I do believe I would need quite a bit of practice. Until that opportunity happens, I will gladly watch all the talented actors and actresses in the entertainment industry.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I believe that the role of women in societies where they are still abused will continue to evolve and improve in the future. As awareness and advocacy for women’s rights and gender equality grow globally, there is a growing movement to empower women and challenge patriarchal norms and abusive practices. It is important for these societies to address and eliminate gender-based violence, discrimination, and abuse to create a more inclusive and equitable society for women.
Education, awareness, and legal reforms are essential in addressing the systemic issues that perpetuate the abuse of women. By promoting gender equality, providing access to education and opportunities, and ensuring the protection of women’s rights, these societies can create a more just and equitable future for women. It is crucial for individuals, communities, and governments to work together to create a safe and supportive environment where women can thrive and fulfill their potential.
15.- Ana, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
One thing that motivates me is happiness. I want to do whatever makes me happy in any given moment, that being pageantry, pharmacy, fashion, marketing or something else. I was born to be free and create my own happiness that’s why I DON’T CHASE I ATRACT, WHAT BELONGS TO ME WILL SIMPLY FIND ME.!
16.- Ana, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I love to travel anywhere and any time. It is in fact one of my favourite hobbies and helps me cleared my head space if life gets too busy. My favourite travel was Monaco a few years back where I attended a charity fashion show the night of Monaco Grand Prix Formula One race. There I accidentally discovered my love for fast cars and this sport.
People should most definitely visit Slovenia, the green capital of Europe. If you want to swim first but than ski in two hours, hike up the mountain in the morning and dive into the caves in the afternoon or just simply breath fresh air and visit forests we are the best place. We can offer interesting cuisine and a lot more fun activities.
But for me, I would love to visit some Asian countries, South Korea is on my wishlist and visiting all the Beaty salons they have and walking down Japanese streets with cherry blossoms. I love their culture and music and I am hopping I will visit these countries in the near future.
