1.- Tessa, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana. Evansville is in the very southern part of the state, on the Ohio River. I love my hometown because it is large enough to have similar entertainment and activities as large cities but also have a small-town feel. My hometown will always have a special place in my heart.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
I have several different hobbies that bring me joy. First and foremost is ballet, which I have been dancing since I was three. I am currently a student at the School of Ballet Indiana, a loving environment that I enjoy spending my free time at. I also enjoy taking care of my sweet dog, Luke, who brings me love and a welcome tail wag every time I see him after being out. Finally, even with my busy schedule, I love finding time to spend time with my friends.
3.- International Model, Miss Evansville Teen USA . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I have been drawn to fashion, performing, and entertainment from the earliest I can remember. In Spring of 2023 I was lucky enough to sign with my first agency. I am now signed with three amazing agencies. Since spring of 2023 I have had some amazing opportunities and experiences in the industry. Modeling truly brings me so much joy and I am so incredibly proud to call it a job of mine. In the Spring of 2024, I gained the title of Miss Evansville Teen USA and competed in my first pageant, Miss Indiana teen USA. I was fortunate enough to make it as a semi-finalist. I feel blessed by all of my experiences. By following my dreams, I have strengthened my character, built my confidence, and grown my passion.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Tessa in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
One thing I will always try to bring to every activity I participate in as a beauty queen and Model is authenticity. This means I am true to my own personality, values, and spirit, regardless of the pressure I might be under. Authenticity is very important to accomplish my goals and to stay true to my personal values.
5.- What’s is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?
I believe the main virtue be an international model and beauty queen is Cooperativeness. As a model, I get to work with many different people. There are agencies, designers, photographers, producers, and choreographers. Everyone needs to work together to achieve a common goal. Everything is fast paced and subject to change at the last minute, so it is important to maintain a spirit of cooperation.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I got into modeling because it was an industry I found fascinating and exciting. So, although it has been a personal goal for me, I am aware that being a model has made me an idol for other individuals, girls, and other teenagers. I feel like this is an absolute honor; if me chasing my dreams can inspire others then I feel both proud and blessed.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time in front of a camera felt very natural for me. I felt like I was in my element. This feeling continued when I participated in my first pageant. I had a feeling of belonging; like this was just right for me.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
People and technologies that have large amounts of power can use that power for both great good and great harm. Social media is no different. Harmful ideas and harmful content can get magnified and reach around the world quickly. At the same time, positive and hopeful ideas can do the same. Since we are all users of social media, we have great responsibility in how we present ourselves to others.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
My favorite social media platform would have to be Instagram. I interact with my followers by sharing content I enjoy, such as modeling, fashion, beauty, and pageantry. I continue to be grateful for all my followers and everyone who supports me.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
My advice to those who have talent and are afraid to take the next step is that it is ok to step out of our comfort zones. You will never accomplish your dreams if you never try anything new. That dream is in your heart for a reason. I believe living life wondering what would have happened if you didn’t chase your dreams is no way to live. I would advise parents to support their children’s dreams and natural talents.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I have learned to stay true to myself and I have developed a proverbial thick skin. This industry requires a lot of hard work and dedication, but, in the end, it is always so very fulfilling.
12.- Tessa, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
Being a model has not been easy for multiple reasons. Some obstacles I have had to overcome are rejection and negative comments. Through all of these experiences it has been important to maintain my belief in myself and remember my core values. Even though it has not been easy I wouldn’t change it for the world.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Yes. I would love to experience a different side of the industry. I have many friends that are actors and I feel Acting is something I believe I would enjoy doing and would love to pursue it in the future.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I think it is great that women have acquired a greater role in some societies. However, I believe there needs to be major change in places where women are still being abused and belittled. Femininity is a strength and something of which to be proud. We, as women, need to take a stand for our fellow women who are still in need.
15.- Tessa, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is my religion. I am a strong believer in Christ. My faith motivates me every day in so many ways. I feel grateful every day for my family, who provides support.
16.- Tessa, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I do love to travel. I have traveled across the United States, from California to New York, and I always enjoy seeing new places and exploring new places. I have not been able to travel outside of the USA yet, however. It is definitely something I would love to experience.
