1. Sharona, congratulations on winning two prestigious titles at Miss Unity Netherlands! How did it feel to be crowned Miss Unity Lingerie 2025 and Miss Unity Talent 2025?
It was truly surreal! And it still feels that way. I enjoyed the final and let everything flow without any expectations. When it turns out you’re going home with not just one, but two fantastic titles, you can’t help it and just be happy, proud, and above all, grateful!
2. What do you think these two titles represent about your personality and journey as a pageant contestant?
«Miss Unity Lingerie 2025″… As insecure as I was, how confident I’ve become thanks to this journey and the lingerie photo shoot with Gerzinda. I think I’ve grown significantly during this pageant, which is why I think I was chosen for this wonderful title.
As for «Miss Unity Talent 2025,» I think I’ve been able to let people see that it’s so much more then just your skill, like how you express your passion, how much you enjoy what you do, and how you engage your audience are also important factors in my opinion.
3. The lingerie title emphasizes confidence and empowerment. How do you define confidence in your own life?
I never used to be confident. Participating in Miss Unity Netherlands and the lingerie shoot that came with it allowed me to discover a completely different version of myself. I lost a lot of weight, not because I needed to, but to feel better in my own skin. After the photo shoot with Gerzinda, I was able to see myself in a completely different light and am finally happy with myself.
4. Winning Miss Unity Talent 2025 highlights your creativity and skills. Could you tell us more about the talent you presented during the competition?
I started singing to literally raise my voice for the Dutch music industry. I was given the opportunity to record a song and a music video was also made. In this music video you can also see several Dutch artists. I also raised money for the ALS Netherlands Foundation, our charity for Miss Unity Netherlands, while we were making the music video. This entire project was made possible by various sponsors, who I still can’t thank enough!
5. What were the biggest challenges you faced on your journey to the Miss Unity Netherlands finals?
My biggest challenge was to remember to enjoy everything. I’m a perfectionist, and I wanted to do everything I could to put on a great show. On the day of the finals, I tried to let it go and just enjoy the day that I’ve worked so hard for, and thankfully, I succeeded!
6. Pageantry is not only about beauty but also about discipline and preparation. How did you train physically and mentally for this competition?
During the road to the finals, we had various training sessions to prepare, including dance lessons and catwalk training. I also exercised a lot to stay strong both mentally and physically. I also got plenty of rest and tried not to stress too much, but just to enjoy everything the program had to offer!
7. What does body positivity and self-acceptance mean to you in the context of pageantry?
It’s incredibly important that everyone can embrace themselves and love themselves just the way they are! During a beauty pageant, you really learn to see yourself differently. I used to be quite insecure about myself and my body, but thanks to participating in Miss Unity Netherlands, I’ve become the best version of myself!
8. How did your family and friends react to your double victory?
My family and friends were all incredibly happy and especially proud. I received so many sweet messages afterwards, even from people who are less close to me. It’s special to see that so many people have supported me throughout this journey. It means a lot to me!
9. In your opinion, how are pageants evolving in terms of inclusivity, diversity, and empowerment?
Nowadays, people look at much more than just appearance. They no longer just look at someone’s beauty or their clothing size, but at who they are as a person. Who are you and what do you stand for? Personal growth and development are therefore very important these days.
10. Do you think winning two titles comes with extra responsibility? How do you plan to use your platform?
As I mentioned before, I started singing to literally make my voice heard and stand up for the Dutch music industry. Now that I can call myself «Miss Unity Talent 2025,» I will continue so I started a platform to promote the Dutch music and their artists. Every month, my followers choose a new «Artist of the Month» who will then receive extra special attention. I also share with my followers my preparations for my performance next year in the finals of the second season of Miss Unity Netherlands.
And for my other title, since I can call myself «Miss Unity Lingerie 2025,» I’m trying to do more lingerie shoots. Not just for my own confidence, but also to show others that you can be beautiful even if you’re curvy! Everyone deserves to be confident. Although I struggled with that at first, the photo shoots I’ve done have definitely helped me with that!
11. How important do you believe social media is in building a pageant queen’s influence today?
I really think you can achieve a lot with social media because you can reach a lot of people. These days, you see many people with «perfect» photos or women with fillers or plastic surgery. This can make people very insecure. I want to show everyone that you’re beautiful and good enough just the way you are. That’s why I did another boudoir shoot after Miss Unity Netherlands with Tristan. Even though I don’t have the «perfect» body and you can see imperfections and many curves in the photos, I’m still incredibly happy with the results!
12. What did you learn most about yourself during the competition?
What I’ve learned about myself is that I’m capable of more than I thought. Not just when it comes to skills like walking the catwalk or dancing, but also in managing things myself, like everything I arranged for my own music video. Think about the location, film crew, extra’s, and of course the studio where I had the opportunity to record a song.
13. Who has been your role model or biggest inspiration in your pageant journey?
To be honest, no one really. The world of pageantry was completely new to me and I didn’t know anyone in it. I participated to become the best version of myself and when you have no one to look up to during such a journey, it’s easier to be proud of what you do because you have no one to compare yourself to.
14. What message would you like to give to young women who want to join beauty pageants but feel insecure?
Just do it! Even if it seems scary, do it! It’s a great opportunity to develop yourself, learn, and build new friendships. I’m still grateful that I was scouted and participated because I wouldn’t have missed this journey for anything!
15. Looking ahead, what are your personal and professional goals after your double crown victory?
My goals are mainly to enjoy everything that Miss Unity Netherlands has brought my way. I’m busy building on my platform, of course, but I’m also preparing for my performance next year. There will likely be more photo shoots, and I’ll also be creating content for «Lingerie Dronten,» our lingerie sponsor for this pageant, but the most important goals is to enjoy everything that’s still coming!
16. If you could describe yourself in three words as Miss Unity Lingerie and Miss Unity Talent, which words would you choose?
- confident
- creative
- ambitious
