I began my journey in the world of modeling first, taking my initial steps by attending catwalk classes at the Amber Chia Academy. Despite being aware that my shorter stature wasn’t conventionally favored. However, this didn’t deter me from pursuing my passion.I continued to learn and grow, fueled by my determination to chase my dreams.
Initially, beauty pageants seemed like an unlikely path for someone petite like me. However, my perspective changed when I discovered the Miss Petite Global organization. Their inclusive approach provided a platform for petite girls like myself to showcase our talents and ambitions.
As a Model and Miss Petite Global Borneo 2023, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and a sense of achievement. While the journey hasn’t been without its challenges, reaching the point where I stand today, fulfilling my dreams and pursuing my passions, fills me with immense pride and appreciation.

The main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model is resilience. The industry can be challenging and demanding, but with resilience, one can overcome obstacles and continue to pursue their dreams with determination.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
Yes, I am aware of the impact my journey may have on aspiring models, particularly young girls and teenagers. While the idea of being an idol is flattering, what truly matters to me is the responsibility that comes with it. I want to show these girls that success in any field, including modeling or pageantry, is not solely defined by outward appearances or societal standards. Instead, it’s about embracing one’s uniqueness, prioritizing self-care and mental well-being, and navigating the industry with integrity. If my experiences can inspire even a handful of young individuals to pursue their dreams while staying true to themselves, then that is a legacy I would be proud to leave behind.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of avideo camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time I stood in front of a video camera as a model, I felt a mix of nervousness and excitement. It was a new experience, and I wasn’t sure how I would come across on screen. “Did I do it right? Is my face expression were giving? Do I look good in camera?”However, as the shoot progressed, I found myself becoming more comfortable and confident in front of the camera.
Similarly, my first experience at a beauty pageant was filled with mix of emotions. There was excitement, anticipation, and nervousness as I stepped onto the stage. It was a moment of realization that I was putting myself out there to be judged not just on my appearance, but on my grace, poise, and personality. Being on that stage drove me to showcase the best version of myself and embrace the journey ahead.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media today significantly influences how people connect, share information, and shape opinions. It has the power to amplify voices, spark movements, and bring attention to important issues. However, its impact isn’t always positive. Social media can also contribute to misinformation, cyberbullying, and addiction. Thus, while acknowledging its potential for good, it’s essential to approach social media critically and responsibly, considering its effects on individuals and society as a whole.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? What’s your favorite social media?
I enjoy interacting with my followers on social media by sharing glimpses of my life, offering inspiration, and engaging in meaningful conversations. My favorite social media platform is Instagram, where I can visually express myself and connect with my audience.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dareto take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
For young people who have talent but hesitate to take the next step, I would advise them to focus on the journey rather than the destination. Instead of fixating on the fear of failure or the pressure to succeed, they should embrace the process of growth and learning. Taking risks and stepping out of their comfort zone can lead to valuable experiences and personal development.
It’s important to remember that setbacks are a natural part of any journey, and they should be viewed as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles. For parents, supporting your children’s talents is crucial for their growth and happiness. I encourage open communication and understanding, as nurturing their passions can lead to fulfilling and successful futures.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashionand beauty pageants?
From the world of fashion and beauty pageants, I’ve learned invaluable lessons beyond the surface glamour. One of the most significant teachings is the power of presentation and self-expression. Through observing the attention to detail in styling, makeup, and presentation, I’ve understood the importance of portraying oneself confidently. Moreover, I’ve come to appreciate the significance of diversity and inclusion. Beauty pageants showcase individuals from various backgrounds, cultures, and body types, challenging conventional beauty standards and celebrating uniqueness. This has taught me the importance of embracing diversity and fostering inclusivity in all aspects of life.
12.- Sabrina, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Being a model has presented its own set of challenges and rewards. One aspect that has been relatively easy for me is adapting to different environments and scenarios. As a model, I’ve developed flexibility and openness to new experiences, which has made it easier to navigate various settings and projects. However, like any profession, there have been obstacles along the way. One significant challenge I’ve faced is the pressure to conform to beauty standards. This pressure can be relentless, taking a toll on self-esteem and mental well-being. To overcome this obstacle, I’ve focused on cultivating self-confidence from within and reminding myself of the unique qualities that make me who I am. Ultimately, being a model has been a journey of self-discovery and growth. While it hasn’t always been easy, the challenges have shaped me into a stronger person and I’m grateful for the experiences and opportunities it has brought my way.

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though thereare societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
In my opinion, the future of women’s roles in societies where abuse persists is a complex issue. While progress has been made globally, with women assuming more significant roles in various aspects of life, it’s disheartening to see that abuse against women still exists in some societies. However, I believe that with continued efforts in education, advocacy, and policy reforms, there’s hope for a brighter future where women are respected, empowered, and able to fully participate in society without fear of abuse. It’s crucial for communities, governments, and organizations to work together to address the root causes of gender-based violence and discrimination, ensuring that women everywhere can live with dignity and equality.
