What is Miss TAM – Generación Universal?

Miss TAM – Generación Universal (“Universal Generation”) is a virtual beauty and talent pageant created by Perumira, the international magazine, marketing agency and academy that interviews talent from all over the world. You compete from home with six videos: no stage, no travel and no swimsuit round.

Our purpose is simple: to celebrate girls and women who love what they do, to inspire the youngest to embrace their talent and to invite families to support it. Talent has the heaviest score, and every culture has a place on our stage.

Formerly known as Miss Global Talent. Now relaunched with a new name, six video stages and a global jury.

What does TAM mean?

TAM stands for the three pillars that guide the jury’s evaluation and our international calls:

T
Talent
Artistic skill, stage presence and interpretive strength in front of the television cameras.
A
Ambassador
The diplomatic, executive and cultural role the winner takes on with partner brands and the international community.
M
Media / Multimedia
Technical command of digital projection, virtual dynamics and multi-platform communication.

In the six stages: the Talent video measures T; the National Costume, Cultural and Jury Q&A videos show A; the Presentation and Evening Gown videos, and the technical quality of every video, show M.

The 6 video stages

1. Hello, World! (Presentation video)

10 points

Length: 60–90 seconds

What to do and say

  • Your first name and surnames, your country and city, your age.
  • Why you want to join Miss TAM – Generación Universal.
  • One fun fact about you and the talent you will show.
  • A greeting in your native language and in English.

Tip: Hold a card with your name and today’s date for 3 seconds at the start. Look at the camera and smile.

2. My Roots Runway (National costume video)

15 points

Length: 60–90 seconds

What to do and say

  • Say your name and country.
  • Walk toward the camera, turn and pose in your national or traditional costume (full body, camera at 2–3 metres).
  • In about 20 seconds, explain what the costume means and where it comes from.

Tip: Respect your culture: no stereotypes or costumes that mock any people.

3. Show Your Talent (Talent video)

25 points

Length: up to 3 minutes

What to do and say

  • Say your name and your talent.
  • Perform: singing, dancing, an instrument, poetry, acting, painting, sport, speech or anything you do with passion.
  • Singing must be live (no lip-sync). Backing tracks must be royalty-free or licensed.

Tip: This is the heaviest stage: the pageant is about talent. One continuous shot is recommended.

4. Elegant Night (Evening gown video)

15 points

Length: 60–90 seconds

What to do and say

  • Say your name and country.
  • Walk, turn and finish with a final pose in an evening gown or elegant formal outfit.
  • No swimsuit round. Teen outfits must be modest and age-appropriate.

Tip: Any body type is welcome. We score elegance, posture and confidence.

5. Discover My City (Cultural video)

15 points

Length: 2–3 minutes

What to do and say

  • Say your name and city.
  • Visit or talk about a historical place, museum, monument or heritage site of your city or region.
  • Tell 3 facts about its history, why it matters and why people should visit.

Tip: Do not film where filming is not allowed. If you cannot travel, use photos and your own narration. Teens: go with an adult.

6. Three Questions (Jury Q&A video)

20 points

Length: 3–4 minutes

What to do and say

  • On “Question Day” we email the same three questions to every candidate.
  • Record one continuous take: say your name, then answer each question in up to 60 seconds.
  • No notes, no reading, no cuts.

Tip: Answer in your native language or in English. If native, add English subtitles or a short English summary.

Language

Every candidate may speak her native language. The pageant runs preferably in English, so please add English subtitles (or a short English summary) if you speak another language.

Judges and scoring

Each category is judged by a panel of 5 judges (pageant professionals, modeling and communication experts, culture and arts specialists, former titleholders and a Perumira editor). Each judge scores every stage; the highest and lowest score are dropped and the other three are averaged. The total is 100 points.

Reign and commitments

  • The reign lasts 12 months.
  • Winners (Country and World) keep impeccable conduct during their reign; otherwise the crown is withdrawn.
  • Winners cannot take part in any other pageant during their reign.
  • If a winner resigns before the end of her reign, a financial penalty applies: €150 (Country Winner) or €300 (World Winner). See the Terms & Conditions.

What makes it different

  • Talent first: the talent video is the heaviest stage (25 of 100 points).
  • No swimsuit round: more comfortable for teens and for every culture.
  • Culture Map: the cultural videos can be featured on Perumira’s website, a map of heritage places around the world.
  • Fan Favorite: a free public vote that does not change the jury’s score.
  • Transparent scoring: every candidate gets her score sheet.
