1.- Rosie, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
Good day, my name is Rosie Venter. I am a 14-year-old girl born and raised in Mossel Bay South Africa.
I love my hometown because we live right next to the sea, this is my happy place, this is where I go to escape a bit from my busy life. There is nothing more relaxing than a long stroll on the beach after a busy day at school or photoshoot or just everyday life.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
My hobbies as well as my deepest passion is modeling. Both catwalk modeling as well as photographic modeling. I laugh ALOT during my photoshoots because my photographer Andrew Basson is very funny, we always have lots of fun during photoshoots. A 3-hour photoshoot literally feels like 10minutes with him, but hey what do they say time flies when you are having fun.
I also am a big family girl; my family is my world. I love my mommy and my daddy very much and believe it or not, but my 11-year-old brother is my best friend in the entire world. When I’m not busy with my modeling we usually go camping. Yes, you heard right… Beyond the glamorous spotlight I am a girly girl with a humble heart and a love for getting my hands dirty.
3.-International Model, Miss global South Africa Petite Teen. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
My journey in the world of pageantry began at the tender age of three years old.
It was a whirlwind of glitter, smiles, and learning to walk in heels way before most kids were trying their shoes. Each runway achievement fills me with a mix of pride and humility. It is a constant reminder that I am moving closer to my dreams, and that feeling of progress is pure joy and excitement. Being seen as an influencer for other woman and girls is a bit daunting, to be honest. The thought that so many might look up to me is a responsibility I don’t take lightly. My deepest hope is to be a source of inspiration, a beacon that helps them find the courage to pursue their own dreams with passion and determination.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Rosie in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
My secret sauce?? Its a mix of things, really. I’m a pretty humble, soft and playful person at heart, but that bubbly energy just kind of burst through in front of the camera or on the ramp or when I just start chatting to the crew.
You will also always see me fix other models backstage, helping them where I can. I believe in fixing each others crown , being helpful and humble is definitely 2 of my biggest characteristics.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
To be a successful international model, a woman should possess a combination of virtues , but some of the most important ones include:
Confidence: Confidence plays a big roll for strutting down the catwalk, posing for photoshoots and handling the pressures of the fashion industry.
Resilience: Modeling can be physically and emotionally demanding, so its crucial to bounce back from rejections, critic, and long working hours.
You must be able to adapt to any situation.
You must always be professional , punctuality and reliability are necessary for building a reputation and succeeding in this industry.
Always have a positive attitude, being friendly make a big difference in building relationships and enjoying a successful career.
Take care of your body and mind through healthy habits, self care, and stress management is essential for maintaining energy and focus.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I am aware of the influence I have on young girls who aspire to be models. Its incredibly humbling to know that I can inspire them to pursue their dreams. I believe its essential to be a strong role model, demonstrating qualities like perseverance, confidence, and self care.
By showcasing that a solid foundation built on hard work and dedication can lead to success both on and off the runway, I hope to empower young girls to believe in themselves. being an idol for even one girl is an honor, and it motivates me to strive for excellence in everything I do. I understand the responsibility that comes with this position and I’m committed using my platform positively.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
Its been quite a while back since my 1st time Ive modeled in front of a camera or a beauty pageant but what I can remember is that at 1st it was very scary but every time or every pageant that I did it became alot of fun. I remember when I was this little girl with heels always everyone wanted to take photos of me, at 1st it was a bit weird but as time went by all bacame very natural.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media nowadays is a BIG thing. Everything is lately social media. Some of the pageants you cant even enter if you dont have social media, but as great as social media can be it can also be very dangerous. Especially if you dont manage it well, thers alot of scams nowadays in pageantry and actualy all over . So you must be very carefull when it comes to social media.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I love Facebook and Instagram. Well actually tik tok as well as you can make very nice vidoe clips on tik tok, but I think facebook and Insta has a great foundation kinda thing going for models today.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I recently just spoke about this at a womance conference thingy, for the yong people I want to say take the step, dont be scared, go for your dreams, and dont think everything will happen over night, it takes time, dedication, love and alot of work. Dont sit back and think everything will happen for you. If its realy your dream you should go for it and dont hold back.
My motto is always do your best, and Jesus do the rest. For parents I want to say, help your children to achieve their dreams, dont hold back, push them in the right direction, give them the benefit of the doubt, you will never know what your child can achieve if you dont help them and back them in everything they do.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
The most imporrtant lesson Ive learned, there is quite a few actually, starting with always be humble. Thats my nr 1 lesson, I came across the nicest girls but as soon as the win they change into these mean girls, I must thank them though cause theyve showed me exactly what I dont want to be. The second thing is, you wont always win, different judges, different day they say today its your time and tomorrow is someones else time. Always be proud for the winner, and always fix each others crown.
12.- Rosie, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Being a model is one of the most difficult things, sitting here typing this answer to this question actually makes me emotional, as I struggle with exactly this. Being a model gives you a lot of obstacles. For one, girls are very jealous, by that said you don’t really have friends and if you do they are always a bit weird with you because you are a model. Being at school, there’s a lot of girls looking up at you but at the same time there is a lot of girls always have something to say about you, so its kind of difficult to find the right friends, or even real friends. How I overcome it well my mom is my biggest friend and my biggest supporter, so if at times I feel sad and alone, I just go sit with my mommy for half an hour then all is better again.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I did do acting as well, and I actually love it, but my modeling takes so much time from me so I had to decide whether I want to do the modeling or the acting, cause with school and everything I couldn’t keep up with both but If I get something in the future for acting I will definitely grab it with both hands.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I am deeply troubled by the continued abuse of woman in certain societies. Woman deserve to be treated with respect and equality. Its crucial that we create a world where women feel empowered to speak out against abuse without fear. Additionally, we must focus on preventing abuse through education, economic empowerment, and by challenging harmful gender stereotypes. By working together we can create a future where all women have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
15.- Rosie, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is definitely my support, I have a very big supporting system in my modeling career, starting from my mom , dad, my photographer my brother gong all the way down to even our workers. I think its very important to have a supporting system behind you and I am very thankful for mine. I’m grateful for amazing supportive family and friends, supporting me all the way.
16.- Rosie, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
