1.- Natalie , tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?

I was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. I am so grateful to be living in such a safe country like Australia. Having beautiful beaches and wildlife in our backyard is something I will never take for granted.

2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?

My hobbies are: going to the gym, living a healthy lifestyle, reading books, trying new foods/restaurants, taking content, modelling and anything beauty-related. I also love spending time with family and friends going for brunch or having coffee.

3.- International Model, Commercial & Runway Model, Miss Galaxy AUS National Finalist – Top Model Finalist – When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

So generous of you to say, thank you for your kind words. I think I am just starting my journey as a model and pageant competitor, and I am so proud of what I have achieved so far.

I would say one of my biggest accomplishments was competing my Business degree at Macquarie University and my most recent pageant experience with Miss galaxy Australia – I prepped for the pageant almost every day of the week; practicing interview Q&A’s, practicing my runway walks with my coach, and doing a few volunteering opportunities here and there.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Natalie in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?

I believe my unique quality is my smile and energy – I always try to be positive and have a friendly, open and warm personality and aura- when in a room, meeting new people. I think smiling is a great first impression/greeting as it makes others want to smile too.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?

Strong networking skills, ability to be strong in facing rejections and harsh comments in the modelling industry.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

Each day that I show up on social media, I always think – ‘what would my younger self want to see to feel inspired, and to want to be like when they’re older?’ and I strive to be better for my younger self each day. For me, this is showing up as confident, well-spoken, and a beautiful person on the inside and out. Being authentic and true to yourself, and never letting anyone tell you, that you can’t do something!

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

From a young age, I enjoyed filming music videos with my cousins and friends, copying Taylor Swift’s (my idol). I now see looking back, I enjoyed filming videos of myself (even if it was nonsense at the time), and I enjoyed being on camera.

The first time I entered a beauty pageant – Miss World Australia 2022 Prelim Finals – I felt so nervous and out of place! I was brand new to the modelling industry, and although I was a similar age to the other competitors – I felt like my high-school shy self. I felt intimidated because a lot of the other girls were confident and established models, and I thought I could never be/look like them. When I was presenting myself on the stage, I felt that I didn’t do enough prep, and I wanted to try it again. I felt proud of myself for doing it, but I know I could do better. Since then, I have strived to better myself, my performance in pageants in the future.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

I think social media is an enormous part of our lives today – with a heavy negative impact on young girls – who are easily influenced by older influencers, encouraging inappropriate attitudes towards life for young girls, and over-consumption. It saddens me to see young impressionable girls being sucked in, and not being present with their life or enjoying their childhood. I personally believe there should somehow be a ban or restriction as social media is a huge negative impact on them, and it’s not helping them at all achieve anything. It would be worthwhile to educate young girls about mental and physical health at school, in a supportive environment, where they can learn how to be stronger, smarter and healthier as they grow up.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

I like to interact with my followers on social media by asking questions in the captions of my posts, or asking questions on my stories about everyday life. Like movie, book recommendations, makeup tips, questions etc. My favorite social media platform is Instagram because I like the concept of grids and exploring other content. I find Instagram a more supportive place over other apps, and more enjoyable – without being as addictive as TikTok.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

Coming from a family with traditional values, I think starting modelling for me, has been a challenge. I believe family who care about their children and their happiness should let the child with talent give it a go. I would regret not letting them try it. Because you never know what could happen – and if you don’t let them try It – you might always wonder. In saying this, I believe the individual should stay true to their values and beliefs, and while it’s important to push yourself to achieve your goals, you have to be yourself and only do what you’re comfortable with.

11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

I have learnt that confidence is key – and as you develop confidence and grow each day – your life will be better in many ways. I have become more confident in social situations, when pitching myself as a model or presenter, in other job interviews, and in everyday life. When you believe in yourself, and prepare for a beauty pageant, you will perform better and get more out of it.

In terms of fashion, I have learnt that certain colors/looks/trends suit me better. But I also love experimenting and trying new looks! Photoshoots and commercial work are a fun way to do this.

12.- Natalie, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

Nothing about modelling has been easy for me. I have not always been ‘a natural’ on camera. I have developed confidence, poses, showing facial expressions and emotions on camera after practicing for years on the camera, and in the mirror.

Unfortunately, I have faced many obstacles of getting paid work – as modelling is highly competitive in Australia – and there are always models who are more experienced and beautiful (in a different way) – and are picked because they ‘just have a better look’. And there’s nothing you can do about this.

Another obstacle for me has been my height, limiting me doing runway (which is my main passion in modelling) – so I am hoping this can change in the coming years. Body image issues and dieting is something I have also struggled with. From a young age, I have always been skinny, but not skinny enough to be a perfect size 6. When I first starting modelling, this was something I was constantly stressed about, because even in today’s day and age, slim size 6 models are the ideal look. When our bodies aren’t evenly proportioned to an hourglass figure, this is where it’s tricky…there’s only so much you can change about your body, without sacrificing your quality of life, relationship with food, and your mindset. I have come to realize, although modelling is something I want to do – I’m not willing to miss out on delicious food and experiences in life, and I have come to accept myself as a healthier size 8.

13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

I haven’t really thought about being an actress, I don’t think it’s a passion/interest of mine, as I always had trouble memorizing lines in school drama classes. I think acting is also an even more difficult industry to crack than modelling. In terms of the entertainment industry, it’d be interested in reporting, or being a journalist in the future.

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

This is a touchy subject for me, and I do have strong opinions about women’s traditional ‘roles’ at home, and women in the workforce. Growing up with an Italian background, family is a huge emphasis on our lives, and it is something I value. However, I don’t actually like kids/have never been a ‘kids person’, so I don’t see this happening for me. I don’t believe I will follow the traditional roles of women, and I think there’s so much more to us than getting married and having kids! We are smarter than men after all!

15.- Natalie, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

I have many motivations in life but I would say overall; career growth and satisfaction, travelling, high income, good health, and quality friends and family, happiness are all important (not in order).

Every day I am grateful to be healthy, safe and grateful for the position where I am in working part-time in makeup artistry, whilst perusing modelling as well. As you’d know from my above responses, I have had constant struggles, and perusing this challenging and demanding career requires constant support from loved ones.

16.- Natalie, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?

I love travelling – with the right people. I love visiting the US (I am going in a week to NYC actually!), New Zealand (because of the activities), other states in Australia, and I loved Italy. Hopefully soon, I can see more of Europe; like France, Greece, Croatia, Spain, England are all on my bucket list. I’d also love to go to Japan one day.

17.- You and me (Jaime William) are going to play ping pong, I will tell you one word and you will answer with another word that comes to your mind.

– Marriage – commitment

– Childrens – burden

– Love – sacrifices

– Travel – explore

– Abortion – political

– Sing – talent

– Europe – culture

– America – shopping

– Sport – exercise

– Money – necessity

18.- Natalie, your last words or final tips

My final piece of advice for aspiring models, or even just regular girls who are considering trying beauty pageants – GO FOR IT! Give it your best shot, and you never know what might happen.

Stay true to yourself, always be yourself!

Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do it

Don’t worry too much about what other people think of you

 Do it for you.
