1. – La-jada, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born in the capital of the Netherlands which is Amsterdam. A little girl in a really big city. I have always experienced Amsterdam as a really fun and lively city. When i was 10 years old i moved to a small village right outside of amsterdam called wormerveer. So i have spend half of my youth in Wormerveer. This is very different from what i was used to but i also loved the quietness of this village and since it is really close to Amsterdam i can always visit.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
Since a very young age i started dancing. My mother used to teach dancing classes so that’s why i was kind of raised with dancing. Dancing is something that still brings me a lot of joy. The beautiful thing about it is that you can show emotions and story’s. In my free time i also love to spend time with my loved ones, coloring and going to the gym.
3.- Model – Miss Supranational Netherlands 2024 1st RU . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
In the beginning of 2023 i started my pageant journey as i competed in my first pageant. From that experience i learned a lot about myself and my qualities. Every day i am working really hard to achieve my goals of being an inspiration for everyone who recognizes themselves in situations i went through. As a young girl who was looking for someone talking about diversity and inclusion the way that i do, i find it very important to give advice, and be a hearing ear for others.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of La-jada in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
What makes me unique is that i will always be advocating for something that is close to my heart. The moment i give someone advice i am really good at showing empathy, listening and understanding someones point of view.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
The main virtue any womans should have is confidence. In an industry with a competitive side it is very important the be sure about yourself, know your qualities and talents.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
For me it is very important to be a rolemodel for many people. With my platform and the public i can reach with that i work towards a more inclusive society by creating a platform where people can share their stories and see this as a safe space. Since a lot of people do not have someone to talk to or look up to. As some people can be very lonely in this society. I am there for them.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time i entered a beauty pageant i felt a little insecure at first. Since it was all new for me but as soon as i stepped on that stage and went in front of the camera i discovered my own beauty and started feeling way more confident. It helped me grow so much.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
As social media could be either positive and negative these days i use it in a lot of positive ways. In my opinion it is really important to focus on the positive things and comments.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
My favorite social media platform is Instagram since i can reach a lot of different people of different ages. Almost everyone had instagram these days so it is really easy to reach a lot of people.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I advise all young children to share your talents with your family first and take a step to show your talents to the world. Showing your talents through social media is an easy way to get it out to the world. For parents who do not support their childrens talents i advice them to give their children a chance to discover their talents and what they like. It is important that they can do what they like in the future.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I have learned to be proud of my imperfections as imperfections are import to make us all different and beautiful in our own way. In my opinion there is no such thing as weird or ugly. The good thing is that we all have our own taste and uniqueness.
12.- La-jada, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
On my journey there have been lots of obstacles such as losing or nog being able to achieve your goal in once. But obstacles motivate me more and more every time.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I have never thought about being an actress. I do think it is a beautiful industry but it never crossed my mind to be an actress myself.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I hope in the future woman rights are as good as my country in those countries. My realistic though is that does need a lot of time and attention since it has been going this way for decades already, but i do think it is possible to make a change by making our voices heard. Together is always stronger than alone.
15.- La-jada, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation everyday is to make my family and my younger self proud and showing the world that it is possible to achieve anything you want even if you might think it is impossible right now. I am so grateful for everyone who supports me in everything i do and recognizes my hard work.
16.- La-jada, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I am such a traveler. I would love to see the whole world and i am moving towards that step by step. One of my favorite vacations was Lisbon, Portugal. I just loved this country so much. I would love to discover Asia ome day. For people traveling to the Netherlands i recommend going to the “zaanse schans” which is really nice nature surrounded with a lot of typical dutch windmills. I would also recommend going to keukenhof. A big field full of tulips.
17.- La-jada, your last words or final tips
My final words for all of you is to believe in yourself and work hard since that will pay off. Even if you are not able to achieve it in ones make sure to never give up on something you really want.
