1.- Kimmi, tell me about the city where you were born and raised.,What do you like about your hometown?
I grew up in the beautiful town of Hobart, Tasmania. I live in a very beautiful state where there is an abundance of nature, outdoor hikes and pristine beaches which are great to visit during summer. What I like most is that it only takes a short time to drive away from the city and be in nature.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
In my spare time I enjoy hosting and producing my podcast, Conversations with Kimmi Jayne. I interview women from around the world about business, challenges and success and I find it very inspiring to learn about women’s stories and achievements.
I love spending time with my partner and my Shihtzu puppy on the weekend, my puppy is still a bit naughty but she is very cute and makes me laugh a lot.
3.-International Model, Ms Galaxy Australia 2024. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I entered my first beauty pageant about 10 years ago in 2014 because I wanted to build my confidence and overcome my shyness. I saw an advertisement for the Australia Galaxy Pageant that promoted becoming the best version of yourself.
Since then, I have expanded my skills to modelling, public speaking and presenting, which makes me feel so alive. I love being on stage and talking to people about things I’m passion about, and this has fueled my business, Kimmi Jayne Consulting, where I teach women about personal branding and confidence skills.
Nothing fills me with joy more than being able to help women build tangible skills to achieve their own goals.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Kimmi in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
I think the element that makes me stand out from the crowd is how I use personal branding and social media to make an impact. Through my podcast and social media platforms, I have been able to raise the profile of women from diverse backgrounds and share messages about confidence and empowerment. I think social media is a very powerful tool to advocate for change and connect with people from all over the world, and this is what I have been during throughout my reign as Ms. Galaxy Australia 2024.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?
I think the main virtue is confidence. If you have confidence, you will not only be able to shine on stage, but you will be able to stand up for yourself, and manage any challenges that come your way.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
As a woman with many followers, I make sure that I am sharing positive and powerful messages on my social media. I talk about my past and how I overcame my lack of confidence to help women of all ages realize, that building confidence takes time and it can be built like a muscle in the gm. I think that anyone with a platform should remember to always be authentic.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I felt very nervous, but I remember feeling like it was the beginning of something new and exciting for me.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media is a powerful tool for sharing messages and connecting with people across the globe. I think that if used correctly, social media is a positive tool especially for women to advocate for their passions and build their platforms.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
My favourite social media platform is Instagram, and I love to share content with my followers about building confidence and never giving up on your goals. I also like to share free masterclasses about personal branding to help women build their skills in social media.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I would say that in life there will always be fear, and even if you cannot overcome fear, you must learn to live beside it. If you have a dream, then try to take small action steps every single day to get closer to where you want to be.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
Through my pageantry journey I have learnt that anything is possible with the right action plan and a strong mindset.
12.- Kimmi, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
There have been challenges along the way, but the way I overcame them was to invest in myself. Practice makes perfect, so I have rented dance studios to practice my catwalk and I have invested in coaches so that I am constantly improving my skills and being the best version of me.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I love telling stories and making people laugh. If there was an opportunity to become an actress I would take it. For now, I am focusing on growing my podcast and my radio career, but who knows what the future holds.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
Unfortunately, there are places where women still do not have equal rights with men, and it is our job as a society to advocate for change.
15.- Kimmi, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation in life is to not only show myself that anything is possible, but to show others that anything is possible. Everyday I feel grateful for what I have built, including my career, my relationship with my partner, and my business. I am motivated by my passion to help women unlock their true potential and overcome challenges to make their dreams a reality.
16.- Kimmi, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
Yes, I love to travel. I have visited (and lived) in many countries over the last 10 years. One of my favorite countries to visit is Japan, where I lived and studied abroad for a year. Japan has great food, beautiful temples and a rich history and is a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a great travel destination.
For those visiting Australia, I would recommend that people travel to my state, Tasmania, because it has so many beautiful destinations, amazing food and wine, and a slower pace of life than the other big cities in Australia.
