1.- Jade, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. What do you like about your hometown?
I was born and partly raised in a small city called Winschoten, located in the north of the province of Groningen, near the German border. When I was about seven years old, we moved to Arnhem, where I still live today. What I love about Arnhem is it’s central location in the Netherlands. In just a few hours, you can travel to the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country. It’s also easy to get to Germany since Arnhem is close to the border. Another thing I really love about Arnhem is that, despite being a large city, it has a lot of green spaces. There are many parks, and just fifteen minutes outside of the city, you’ll find the Veluwe National Park.
2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
One of my favorite hobbies is definitely spending time with my loved ones. My whole family still lives in Winschoten, the town where I was born and partly raised. This means I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like, but you can imagine that when we do get together, it brings me a lot of joy. Besides spending time with my loved ones, I love being in nature, going for walks, discovering new places, attending church, and eating delicious food.
3.- International Model – Miss Beauty of Gelderland 2025 Finalist. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I’ve been modeling since I was a little kid. I was signed with a casting agency and did a few castings as well. When I started high school, I stopped because I was too busy with school, and that became my top priority. Every now and then, I still did some photoshoots with my mom, since she’s a photographer. Almost a year ago, I was looking for a new adventure, and that’s when I came across the beauty pageant. I thought I’d give it a try, and the rest is history. Now, I’m one of the finalists for Miss Beauty of Gelderland 2025, and I’m so excited for the upcoming months!
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Jade in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
I think my unique stamp is that I’m a Christian. I go to church and try to spend time with God every day. For many people it might sound crazy, but I really draw a lot of courage, warmth, and strength from my belief in God. My faith also gives me a sense of peace, making me believe that everything happens for a reason and that there’s a timing for everything.
Another thing that makes me distinctive is my perseverance and strong work ethic. If I want to achieve something or have a goal in mind, I will keep working towards it until I’ve achieved it.
5.- What is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?
I think the main virtue any woman must have to be an international model is having a good and pure heart. As long as your heart is in the right place and you have inner beauty, in my eyes, you’ve already made it. Being an international model isn’t just about your appearance; it’s mostly about what’s on the inside. You can be the prettiest girl, but if your inner self isn’t beautiful, it’s not going to work out.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I’m aware that a lot of girls are following my journey, but I don’t see myself as an influential woman at this point. To be really honest I don’t want girls to idolize me. Instead, I want young girls and women to love themselves and stay true to who they are. It’s important to me that they focus on being authentic and confident in themselves.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I don’t exactly remember the first time I modeled in front of a video camera, but I’m sure it was a bit awkward at first. I think that’s something everyone experiences when they stand in front of a camera for the first time. Over time, I probably started to feel more excitement because, somehow, I kept doing more and more photoshoots haha.
I can remember exactly how I felt entering this beauty pageant for the first time. At first, I was a bit overwhelmed. There were so many impressions coming at me all at once, but once everything settled down a bit, I was super excited. Even now, it still feels like a bit of a rollercoaster, but I absolutely love this adventure and can’t wait to see what more it will bring!
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I believe social media has a lot of power. On one hand, it has a positive impact, allowing us to stay connected with friends and family and raise awareness about important causes. On the other hand, it can have a negative influence, as many people tend to compare themselves to the seemingly perfect lives some influencers portray. That’s why I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with social media.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? What’s your favorite social media?
If I had to choose I would say TikTok is my favorite social media app, but to be honest, I’m still finding my way with social media. I took a break from it for over three years, but since becoming a finalist for Miss Beauty of Gelderland 2025, I’ve started using it again. I love sharing my journey with my followers and taking them along the adventure I’m experiencing right now. I try to interact with them by posting a lot of content on my socials, but I’m still figuring out the right balance; sharing enough without overwhelming them.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I would advise them to just take the next step. What do you have to lose? In the Netherlands we have a saying: ‘Nooit geschoten is altijd mis,’ which means if you don’t try, you’ll never know. Just try and step out of your comfort zone. It helps to surround yourself with people who encourage you to do so. Of course this isn’t the case for everyone. In situations where parents don’t support their children’s talents, I would encourage and advise them to just let their children try. In my opinion, it’s important for parents to think about what they would want if they were in their children’s shoes and look at the situation from that perspective.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
An important lesson I’ve learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants is that there is beauty in everything and everyone. Each person has their own unique talents and beauty. I’ve also learned that it’s very important to stay true to yourself and just be who you are. Everyone is unique, and by being yourself, you can show the world your own true beauty. There’s no need to pretend to be someone or something you’re not. The right people will love you for who you are, not for who you’re trying to be.
12.- Jade, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Of course there have been obstacles, especially when I was younger. When I was signed up with the casting agency, there were many times I faced rejection. As a little girl, around the age of eight, I struggled to understand why they rejected me. But as I grew older, I learned that it’s totally okay to face rejection sometimes. Being rejected doesn’t mean I’m not good enough, it just means they’re looking for someone who fits the image in their mind better. I began to understand that everything happens for a reason and that not everything is meant for me.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I do like the entertainment industry, but just not for myself. When I was younger I actually did thought about being an actress. I even did castings for example for a big Dutch supermarket chain called Jumbo. They were looking for a new actress for their commercial and they invited me to audition. I went to do the audition, but I felt and realized that acting just wasn’t for me. It didn’t give me the excitement it should have given me, and I found out my real passion lies in modeling, not in acting.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
Hopefully in the future, women in these societies will gain more rights and opportunities. This will be achieved through greater access to education, stronger laws, and the efforts of those advocating for change. Although it will take time, the situation will improve. That’s why it’s so important to continue supporting other women and doing what we can to make a positive impact in the world.
15.- Jade, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My biggest motivation is to live a happy and healthy life surrounded by the people I love. Every day, I feel grateful when I wake up – I have a roof over my head, I’m healthy, I have food to eat, and I’m studying something I truly enjoy. It might sound cliché, but it’s really how I feel. I believe it’s important not to take these “simple” things for granted. For many of us they’re just part of daily life, but sadly, that’s not the case for everyone. It’s something I’ve witnessed firsthand during my internship, working with people on the somatic and psychogeriatric departments.
I am also grateful for the culture I inherited from my mother, who is Romanian. Growing up with this background has given me a unique perspective and made me appreciate my opportunities even more, especially knowing that life can be much harder in places like Romania.
Last but definitely not least, I am truly blessed to have such a warm family, a loving boyfriend, and a supportive family-in-law. I’m grateful to be able to spend time with them all and to have a strong bond with each of them.
16.- Jade, do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know, and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I do not only like to travel, I really love to travel. The excitement of discovering new places and countries, experiencing their culture, nature, people, cuisine, and more, is something I really enjoy. I’ve been fortunate to visit many beautiful countries around the world, where our tour through America and Africa really made the most impact on me. In the future, I’d love to visit and explore Asia as well.
If you haven’t visited the Netherlands yet, I highly recommend coming for a little city trip. Since Amsterdam is our capital, it’s definitely a must-see. Other cities worth visiting, are Utrecht (Amsterdam’s little sister, but less crowded) and Maastricht (a charming city near the Belgian border).

18.- Jade, your last words or final tips
I want to thank you for reaching out and giving me the opportunity to share my story through this exciting interview. I really enjoyed it!
I also want to thank everyone who has been following me on this journey. Everyone’s support, love, encouragement and kind words mean a lot to me. I’m very grateful for it.
