1. Greta, congratulations on being a Miss Galaxy Australia National Finalist 2025! How does it feel to represent such an empowering platform?
It is an honour to represent a platform that celebrates intelligence, resilience, and diversity. Miss Galaxy Australia provides a space where women can embrace every aspect of themselves, and I am proud to be part of a system that values advocacy and leadership.
2. As both a beauty queen and a clinical nurse, how do you balance these two demanding roles?
Balancing these roles requires strong organisation and a deep sense of purpose. As a clinician in a leadership role, I provide clinical supervision and education to over 60 staff members who deliver care to our clients. My work in pageantry allows me to advocate on a broader scale, and I see both as avenues to create meaningful change. Time management, self-care, and a clear vision help me navigate both worlds.
3. What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare while also competing in pageantry?
My maternal grandfather, a doctor in India, was my biggest inspiration. He practised ethically and with compassion, which shaped my love for healthcare. My mother encouraged me to embrace all aspects of myself, which included beauty, intelligence, and ambition. She was considered very beautiful in her time (and still is), and people often say I resemble her. Honouring both their legacies led me to embrace both healthcare and pageantry.
4. Can you tell us more about your initiative, Unscripted Healthcare? What is its mission?
Unscripted Healthcare aims to showcase the real side of healthcare and inspire people to join the healthcare industry, particularly during a time of workforce shortages. There is a growing need for doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, and I want to encourage more people to see what it is really like to work in the industry, and hopefully encourage some individuals towards seeing healthcare as a fulfilling career. My platform also focuses on advocacy, particularly for vulnerable groups, ensuring that their voices are heard and their needs are met.
5. How has your experience in the clinical field shaped your perspective on beauty, confidence, and self-worth?
Working in healthcare has shown me that beauty goes beyond appearances, as it is about compassion, resilience, and strength. Confidence comes from the ability to make a difference in someone’s life, and self-worth is built through service and purpose. These values translate seamlessly into pageantry, where confidence is not just about how one looks, but the impact one makes.
6. Pageantry is often associated with glamour, while healthcare is about service. How do these two worlds complement each other in your journey?
Both pageantry and healthcare require grace under pressure, resilience, and the ability to inspire others. While one is about caring for clients and ensuring their well-being, the other provides a platform to advocate for issues that matter. Both fields require leadership and the ability to break stereotypes.
7. What challenges have you faced in breaking stereotypes about beauty queens and women in healthcare?
Ageism and societal expectations have been challenges, especially as I secured a clinical leadership role at 23. There are misconceptions that young professionals lack experience and that women in leadership roles must prove themselves more than their male counterparts. I aim to challenge these outdated views by proving that women can excel in both leadership and advocacy, no matter their age or industry.
8. Your platform embraces ‘beauty with brains’—how do you inspire others to break barriers and follow their dreams?
I lead by example, showing that ambition and intelligence are not mutually exclusive with beauty and confidence. I want young women to know that they can have it all: a meaningful career, a strong voice, and the freedom to embrace every part of themselves without limitations.
9. What has been the most rewarding moment in your career as a clinician so far?
Being offered the opportunity to run clinical operations for my city’s branch at the age of 23 was a defining moment. Managing a client caseload funded by various Australian Government streams such as NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), overseeing a team of clinical staff, and contributing to clinical education and governance on both a branch and national level has been incredibly fulfilling. Staying true to myself, remaining humble, and continuing to grow in this role has been my biggest reward.
10. How do you handle the pressures of both the pageant world and the healthcare industry?
Balance is key. I prioritise work-life balance, taking breaks, and practising self-care. Engaging in my hobbies such as singing, reading, writing poetry, cuddling my cats, and volunteering, helps me stay grounded and motivated.
11. What does the Miss Galaxy Australia platform mean to you, and how does it align with your values?
The Miss Galaxy Australia platform to me represents empowerment, advocacy, and leadership. These are values that resonate with my journey. It provides a space where women can use their voice for meaningful change, which aligns with my passion for healthcare advocacy and breaking industry stereotypes.
12. What message do you hope to share with young women who aspire to enter both pageantry and the medical field?
That we can have it all. The clinical field has its own beauty: it is a career built on passion, service, and strength. Pageantry allows us to showcase our voices and our stories. Both paths require dedication, but they are not mutually exclusive. Women should never feel like they have to choose between their intelligence and their confidence.
13. How do you use your pageant platform to promote health awareness and education?
By using social media, volunteering in clinical roles and public speaking engagements to advocate for healthcare workforce shortages, clinical education, and the importance of self-care. Through Unscripted Healthcare, I share insights into the realities of the industry and encourage people to consider a career in healthcare.
14. Have your experiences in healthcare given you a different perspective on beauty and confidence?
Yes; Working in clinical settings has shown me that beauty is in strength, compassion, and resilience. Confidence is not about perfection, but about embracing one’s skills, purpose, and ability to make a difference.
15. What role do you think strong women play in shaping the future of both the beauty and healthcare industries?
Strong women challenge norms, bring new perspectives, and push industries forward. In healthcare, they advocate for better client care and lead teams with compassion. In pageantry, they redefine beauty standards and inspire others to embrace their uniqueness. Both fields need powerful, determined women to create change.
16. If you win the Miss Galaxy Australia title, how would you use it to further your advocacy and career goals?
Winning the title would allow me to represent all healthcare workers and be a voice for marginalised and vulnerable groups. I would use this platform to expand Unscripted Healthcare and advocate for the importance of compassionate, client-centred care. My goal would be to secure a national or global ambassadorship role, inspiring newer generations to pursue a career in healthcare while reinforcing the mission to bring humanity back into care. This title would amplify my advocacy, bridging the gap between industry challenges and public awareness.
17. How do you stay motivated and maintain your well-being while juggling two highly demanding professions?
By ensuring I prioritise self-care and work-life balance. Passion fuels both my career and my advocacy, but I recognise the importance of rest and personal time. Engaging in my hobbies, spending time with loved ones, and setting clear boundaries help me stay motivated and perform at my best.
18. What advice would you give to someone who doubts they can combine intelligence, beauty, and passion in their career?
Never let societal expectations define your potential. Intelligence, beauty, and ambition are not separate qualities, as they can certainly coexist. The key is to own your path with confidence, work hard, and never limit yourself based on what others believe is possible.
19. What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned through both pageantry and your clinical career?
That authenticity and perseverance matter more than anything. Success is not just about achievements; it’s about staying true to your values, pushing through obstacles, and continuing to grow.
20. Finally, what’s next for you after Miss Galaxy Australia 2025? Any exciting plans for Unscripted Healthcare?
After this, my goal is to continue growing as a clinical leader and drive revolutionary changes within the healthcare sector. I aspire to engage in research upon completing my Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice, working towards generating solutions that address gaps in the health workforce and improve care for vulnerable communities. This will go hand in hand with Unscripted Healthcare, which I plan to expand further and see where it takes me. The sky is the limit, and I believe in dreaming big—there is so much more to accomplish in both advocacy and healthcare.
