1.- Gernicha, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
My name is Gernicha Boelijn and I was born and raised in Amsterdam. I think Amsterdam is not only the most beautiful city in the Netherlands, but also the nicest!
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
My hobbies are dancing and singing. I also really enjoy it when I can make other people happy or help them
3.- Model – Miss Beauty of Noord-Holland 2025 Finalist . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I decided in mid-2024 to finally take this step. I was not feeling well at all for a long time, which meant I could no longer enjoy life as I wanted to, which made me very insecure about myself and what I did and can still do in my life.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Gernicha in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
I think what really makes Gernicha Gernicha is my always big smile. No matter what happens I will always keep smiling
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
I think the most important thing is that you are a natural beauty! With and without makeup, on the outside but certainly also on the inside
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
Yes, I definitely am! It is certainly not my intention to gain “fans”. what is important to me is that young girls with the same problem as me feel heard and understood! What I absolutely love is that I can also help the young girls find their own selves again!
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I thought it was super exciting and immediately felt the insecure girl coming back. Luckily I had a super sweet photographer (Sanne Roffel) and provincial manager (Sophie Egberink), who helped me through the shoot.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I think social media is good for getting a greater reach for what you want to achieve. at the same time I think that the internet also shows a lot of bad and/wrong things. Therefore, pay close attention to what you post on the internet! and who you share it with!
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
My favorite social media platforms are Tiktok and Instagram. I enjoy making singing/dance videos and recently also mini vlogs, etc
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
The biggest tip I can give is, JUST DO IT! life is too short to not share your talent with the world. For All moms and dads, I would say, always give your child the feeling that you have his/her back, so it is easier for the child to follow and show his/her dreams/talents.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
One of the most important things I have learned is BE YOURSELF! everyone is beautiful in his or her own way
12.- Gernicha, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
No, it certainly wasn’t easy! I didn’t believe in it because of my insecurities. There was always something holding me back, but I didn’t know exactly what it was. After having had many conversations with myself, one day I thought «Gernicha just do it» and so my adventure Miss Beauty of North Holland began
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Yes I definitely have! I participated in several castings and even managed to get a small role in the short film «Donna». I really enjoyed it, as long as I could be in front of the camera 😉
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
We women must help each other and be there for each other! Unfortunately, we women are sometimes still underestimated, abused or discriminated against. Yet I believe that over the years there has been more and more appreciation for us women in the world and is certainly still to come. #girlpower! <3
15.- Gernicha, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is 2 power women. first of all my mother, who brought me into this beautiful world and who still stands behind me to this day! and the 2nd power woman is my grandmother, who raised me and made me the woman I am today! love you grandma <3
16.- Gernicha, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
Of course I love to travel! who wouldn’t ;). I have been to a number of places in my life: America, Ibiza (Spain), Suriname and Curacao, and of course I hope to see many more beautiful places. I would really like to go to Jamaica or Brazil.
