1.- Denise, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was originally born in Maastricht but grew up in Meerssen. The thing I really loved about Meerssen was the village itself. The nice little clothing stores, the cozy restaurants on the market and the beautiful park where I always went sledding when there was snow. or went for a picnic if it was summer.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
My hobbies are being creative. When I’m at home I’m often crafting or cooking. cooking is really my passion. this gives me great joy.
3.- International Model – Miss Universe Limburg 2025 Finalist . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I was born with this dream when I was 19. I had a good friend who started his own clothing line and was allowed to help as a ‘model’. From there I discovered a passion for being in front of the camera. From there I started doing more shoots, in the meantime I am registered with two modeling agencies and I have followed my dream towards Miss Universe Limburg.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Denise in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
my unique stamp in my appearance. I am half Indian myself and therefore also have a tan. I have short hair myself. This is something you don’t often see with female people or models. rarely in a beauty pageant.
5.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I am very aware of this. I really want to be a role model for young girls. especially through my shade and short hair, I want to convey that you are beautiful and unique in your own way. that you should embrace your insecurities and see them, together with your appearance, as your strength. I used to be bullied a lot about my skin color and that was very difficult. After I learned to embrace this, it became my strength.
6.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I felt a little insecure and very curious. my legs were literally shaking haha. Ultimately it’s about finding yourself and feeling comfortable. this can sometimes take some time.
7.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I find that there is both a positive and negative relationship between social media use and the well-being of young people. Social media offer young people many opportunities. Such as making contacts, deepening relationships, finding support from others and forming their identity. This can contribute to higher self-confidence, more positive self-image, stronger social skills, less loneliness and greater life satisfaction.
But social media use may also be related to anxiety, feelings of depression, and lower life satisfaction. In addition, the pressure to always be connected and accessible can cause anxiety and cause young people to sleep worse.
8.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
Instagram.
9.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I think you should always follow your dreams. I have a very sweet mother who supports me very much in this. I think it is important that parents support their children.
10.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
don’t give up. You’re going to hear no very often or it’s not right. just don’t give up. You will come across brands and agencies that want you as you are, whether you have long hair or short hair, are a bit smaller or cannot walk well in heels.
11.- Denise, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
there have certainly been obstacles. Modeling work is sometimes difficult for me to combine with my own full-time job. Besides, I’m quite small and for many jobs they tend to ask for country girls. I overcame this by just looking for other agencys en to focus on my strongest points.
12.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I never thought about it. I think it could be fun.
13.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I think people underestimate how strong women are and how strong they are. When I look at culture, it is normal in some cultures that women have different places in society and I respect that. When I look at Western cultures I think that women are often treated too differently. different wages, different hours, etc. this is a shame because women are also powerful.
14.- Denise, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day? My motivation is to be a role model for young girls. To inspire them to be ther own and follow there dream. I am verry grateful that I get the change follow this dream.
15.- Denise, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I love to travel very much. I regularly go on holiday and every now and then to distant countries. I have been to Nepal and Sri Lanka. I enjoyed it here so much. the people, culture, food and nature appeal to me so much. I would really like to go to Japan, Singapore and Bali.
