1. – Charlotte, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born and raised in a beautiful city called Leiden. Leiden is most known of being a university city and one of the oldest universities called university Leiden where also the king has studied. but what I like the most is celebrating our freedom on October 3.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
I love to sing. I’ve been singing since I can talk. I come out a musical family so I was also raised musically. So singing makes me smile the most but also being on stage by a beauty pageant. it’s such a blessing.
3.- Model, – Miss Teen Nederlands 2024 Finalist When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I decided to take my first step in beauty pageants when I was 13 almost 14 years old. a lot of people ask me “how do you think of being in the beauty pageant world?” Well before I decided to do an online audition for miss teen Nederland I was a very insecure girl. I needed to find my confidence. I knew beauty pageant was a big thing in America. I also watch shows about beauty pageant and I was constantly dreaming about standing there just like the little American girls did. in my head it was such a stupid dream, but then I found miss teen Nederland and I decided to just sign me up I had nothing to lose and not even a week later I heard that I was through the online auditions. And still today, I’m so grateful for everything that I have learned And everything that I have done with miss teen Netherland. I’ve been on radio. I have multiple people that I’ve got to know how many friends I got out of the beauty pageant world and the girls that I inspired to take a step to sign up for a beauty pageant and follow their dreams.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Charlotte in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
That’s a good question people always say that I’m very wise for my age I look different to the world and always see the best in people I treat people like how I want to be treated like so with respect. and I think that’s very unique for my age and not only as a pageant queen or model I always think like that.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
You need a lot of confidence. confidence is key!! but also you need to be very motivated to not quit your dreams or give up after the first disappointment.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
Yes, I’m aware and I think it’s the best feeling you can feel to be a influence to a lot of girls and not only in beauty pageant or modelling things, but also the things you want to share with the world. after sharing my advocacy for miss teen Nederland a lot of girls came to me with their story and I could tell them that they’re not alone. That’s everything I always wanted to.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
Modelling is something I still wanna learn, but the first time I post for a camera I was very nervous but after 10 minutes and a lot of smiles to the camera I began to love it and the same for beauty pageant the first time on stage I couldn’t even stand straight but I looked at all other people that was there and I thought “this is my moment” now I know I never wanna stop doing beauty pageants
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media is a place were you can influence people in the Right way or the wrong way .so it’s also really dangerous. young girls and also adults who can get a wrong image about how they should look and whats seem like “perfect” these days. but everybody should know nobody is perfect and most of the times people on social media will share pictures and have also insecurities just like you. there are people with feelings just like you.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I love Instagram. I still get DM of girls who asked me things about beauty pageant, acting ,singing, modelling and it’s such a fun platform to connect with people.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I will say “you have nothing to lose” there are a lot of beauty pageants and a lot of modelling castings just try maybe you come in. if something you work hard for and that something is meant for you no one can take it from you. And if you’re dealing with your parents who do not support your dreams and talents you should have a talk with them. for the parents just try to support them and try to find a way how they can make their dreams come true. cause if they really want it, they will work hard for it.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
Confidence is one of the important things I’ve learned and I’m really grateful for that. cause if I didn’t learn that I wouldn’t become the person I am today.
12.- Charlotte, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Until this day, I really want to grow in modelling. what I’ve mentioned a few times. a year ago I wasn’t that confident. it was hard to think that I could do it and it was hard to believe that I was beautiful. in my head only the “perfect” girls can be a model but now I’m confident about my looks about who I am inside and I know I can grow in modelling.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Yes, absolutely since I was 11 years old i’ve been acting in the background of movies and series. It was fun to do but I thought I needed to take the next step. so I auditioned for a lot of things and of course most of the time I didn’t come through the additions , but now I’m in a short film with a legit role!! I’m so excited and grateful for it and I know I never want to give up on the entertainment industry.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I am confident that one day all women will have equal rights. to stand up for who they are and what we are worth ,because at the end of the day we are all still human. It doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman. no one should have to go through abuse.
15.- Charlotte, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is my family. They’re always there for me to rough times and good times. And also my family is the reason why I feel grateful every day. that I live under a roof, that I can go to school and have good education, my family who support me in my choices and my future and my friends who are there for me.
16.- Charlotte, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I love travelling. one day I hope I can travel the whole wide world so I can see new places and meet new people. I’m lucky that I’ve been to a few places. I’ve been to Spain, Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Indonesia, grease, Germany, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium and France. I would love to visit Poland, America, peru, Canada and Iceland. I think if you go to the Netherlands, you should not go to Amsterdam to stay there for your whole vacation that’s a thing every tourist do so maybe stay for one or two days but I think it’s better to go to places like denhaag or Leiden and if you want to see the tulips go to Lisse to visit the keukenhof.
