1.- Bianca, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born in Chula Vista, California but I was raised in Lakeside, California. We are home of the rodeo, and a small country town filled with veterans and active duty military. I really enjoy living in Lakeside because my community is involved, and active in making a positive change.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
My hobbies are writing and drawing. Something that gives me joy is spending time with my friends and family.
3.-International Model, National United States Jr. High ‘23 – Jr. Teen Earth ‘22 -Jr. Teen International ‘21. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
When I was 5 years old, I met Sierra Sandison and she was Miss Idaho 2014 for the Miss America Pageant. She wore her insulin pump proudly on the Miss America stage. She encouraged me to get involved in pageants, and be able to make a difference by being proud of who I am. As a pageant titleholder/influencer, I feel amazing because the smallest things can make a big difference. By achieving my dreams and passions I am able to inspire other girls with disabilities that they do not have to set limitations for themselves.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Bianca in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
Being a Type 1 Diabetic and having Celiac Disease I have invisible illnesses. However, I proudly wear my medical devices which sets me a part from a lot of pageant girls. I am confident wearing my devices and this encourages others to do the same.
5.- What is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
A girl or woman must have the confidence to achieve their life long dreams. It is possible to become an International role model if you work hard, stay committed, and show that you are dedicated to your platform and any goals that you set for yourself.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I strive daily to set a positive and inspiring example for myself and girls everywhere. It is important for me to show and lead the change that I wish to see. I believe that it is crucial to do the right thing even when you do not think anyone is watching, because you never know who is or may be looking up to you.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time that I modeled in front of a video camera, I was nervous and didn’t have the confidence that I have today. The first time that I competed in a beauty pageant, I was also nervous but excited.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media has a significant power over people. For me, it is a positive experience because I am able to spread awareness about invisible illnesses, help people through my group Diabuddies Connect, while encouraging others to participate in community service by showing all of my service acts.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I like to interact with my followers on social media by responding to their comments, and messages. I also use Facebook Live. I prefer Facebook but also use Instagram.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
If I saw someone with talent, I would talk to them about trying out whatever they are passionate for. If you don’t ever try, you will never know how talented you are, or what difference that you could make. You may inspire someone else to try something out of their comfort zone.
To the parents who do not support their children: I believe that we all have capabilities and should be allowed to strive to do our best and work towards our goals. What our parents’ dreams are for us, it may not be ours. Parents should be loving and encouraging, and can make a huge impact by providing the support that their children need.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
The important lesson that I learned from fashion is that you must be yourself. It is important to value yourself, your beliefs and values. Pageants have taught me to express myself, and to work hard to achieve my goals.
12.- Bianca, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Being a role model is not always easy even though it may appear that way. There are obstacles. With having Type 1 diabetes, while I am out participating in community service, I may not feel my best but I have received help from my community and have been able to show them both sides of my life (serving with pride, but also having a medical condition).
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I have always wanted to be an actress because you never know who you can inspire through television. Watching someone with a medical condition while wearing their medical devices proudly, is not something that you get to see every day, and I would like to change that. I do like the entertainment industry, and I would like to have the opportunity to encourage those like me to feel confident in their own skin.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I am proud to be a young woman making a social change in society. It breaks my heart to hear that people are valued less simply because they are a woman. I do not believe in abusing them because of their gender. I would hope that the women would be treated with respect, kindness, and equality.
15.- Bianca, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is my family and the people that support me. They have helped me so much through my journey and I am grateful for all of the opportunities that I have had, and obtain, that make me the person that I have become today.
16.- Bianca, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I absolutely love to travel! I have heard amazing things about the Maldives, and would like the opportunity to visit one day. I also know about El Salvador because my Dad was raised there. I really enjoy learning, and would be happy to visit any country for the experience and ability to meet more people and learn about their culture. I am from the United States, and I would like people to visit Pennsylvania because of the Hershey Museum and Hershey’s Chocolate World. It is something fun, educational, and you can enjoy it at any age.
17.- Bianca, your last words or final tips:
I believe that you should be the best version of yourself, and don’t be afraid to expand, so you can chase your dreams!
