1.- Ashlyn, you were born inAustralia, What do you like about your hometown in Australia?

I was born in a small country town and so it might sound cliché, but the fresh air had to be my favourite thing. I was allowed to run around outside and play without having to worry about things like pollution. As well as the close sense of community.

2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?

I have quite a diverse range of hobbies like I love to learn about new things all the time as well as I love to relax and do stuff like painting or dance. These activities bring me peace and allow to relax but the thing that makes me laugh a lot and brings the most joy is spending time with my loved ones, I always laugh so much with these people my cheeks are always end up sore.

3.- International Model, Top10 Miss Galaxy Australia 2023 – People´s Choice Award in Miss Galaxy Australia 2023. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

Probably ever since I could walk Ive always had this passion to pose infront of the camera but my modeling never really took off until recently, Its definitely never too late to start anything. They say with modelling it is better to start younger but I actually think it’s the oppiste of that and as we get older and mature that’s when we flourish and become the best version of ourselves. This feeling of achievement is rewarding and fulfilling, after working hard to get your messages out there about topics youre passionate about it feels really good at the end of the day.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Ashlyn in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?

I will always have a smile on my face and I love to make people laugh, whether the interaction goes for 1 minute or 1 hour. I love to make sure that I’m not the only smiling in that room.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?

I believe that it extremely important for any human not just only a beauty queen to always be grateful of what they have and be humble. Not everyone is blessed enough to live a life of beauty queen so to make sure to kind to those around you and never forget the people that always show support .

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

Growing up I had a role model who never hated her body, always confident, super kind and chatty and outgoing and this lady was mother. She was who raised me and that’s what I’ve learnt from a young age, never to hate how I look, never be scared of anyone, and be yourself. I now know the importance of having that strong role model if I can be that inspiration for some young girl out there from a young age then they can enjoy life for what it is or maybe change a teenagers own perspective on themselves. As a brown skinned girl I know we don’t have much inspiration on feeling confident in our skin so maybe one day I could be that person.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

I have always loved being in front cause it allows me to enter this new world all about me and this new level of confidence is unlocked every time. After every photoshoot I walk away feeling so empowered that I did that cause I understand it can take a lot to get in front of a camera. But doing a beauty pagent is a completely different world. Doing my first Beauty pageant with Australia Galaxy Pageants I could not have been happier with choice, I spent the week with girls that the same interests as me as well as were super supportive considering it was my first time. After I completed my first pageant I didn’t win but I walked away with so much more, I have my pageant sisters, so much more knowledge about pageants and modelling, motivation to go help out in the community and most importantly my confiendce grow.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

Social media is one of the most powerful tools of today. social media has the ability to share news across the world (good or bad) it has the power to bring people happiness whether that be through showing the world the their talent, through money or even video calling family who live on the other side of the world.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

The social media where I do the most interacting with my followers is Instagram cause I can frequently post updates on exciting stuff on even day to day photos. Instagram also ables me to talk and chat with friends, followers and collabortraters. I also love tiktok to stay in the loop of world trends.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

I find that parents just want whats best for their children and sometimes the modeling and talent industry can be a scary, the abuse and misuse of escpcially females is well known within the industry but that shouldn’t stop someone from wanting to achieve their dreams. I would recommend do the research but to take start with small steps like doing modelling as a hobby first and then slowly start applying to agencies and then from there.

11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

The internet is forever so whether it be a photo or interview, don’t be doing anything youll regret and treat everyone and everything with kindness. Be proud of the way you got to the position you are in today.

12.- Ashlyn, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

The biggest thing for me was I was from a small country town where stuff like modelling didn’t really happen so when I was trying to put my foot in the door it was scary and hard learning all this new stuff. There is different terminology used on the set of a photoshoot, with beauy pageants there was things I had never even considered such as all the different areas of competion and even all the preparation it takes.

13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

Ofcourse! Who hasn’t! But acting is whole other talent in itself which I respect. But even with actors and actresses I love seeing the red carpet looks and the photoshoots they do and the brands they want to work with. I do respect the entertainment industry it is hard work but it is just the worst thing seeing other girls who set up  unrealistic expections from a movie or magazine cover.

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

I believe we still have a long way to go as in Australia there are still many companies where there is almost a 50% difference in pay. But with the way society is moving I believe one day it will be the opposite. More and more now women are taking a stand and putting their foot down about things they are not happy about and I hope to see the day where women control the world and the extremely wrong abuse of women in any society comes to a stop.

15.- Ashlyn, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

My main motivation is to achieve, big or small. This includes stuff managing to clean the house that day or finish an assignment but something where I can have that feeling of almost proudness of myself that yes, I did that today. I find it so important to be grateful for all the little things in life. I always grateful I have a roof over head, a warm bed to lay in whenever I want, I have the opportunity to go grcery shopping to get the groceries I want, I have a healthy body which I move around and go to the gym with and most importantly I am completey surrounded by people that love me.

16.- Ashlyn, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Australia?

The airport is actually one of my favorite places and I have been blessed to travel to be able to travel to Fiji and New Zealand, But I wish to travel the world. I love culture so one day I wish to travel the world and just see all the different societies and the way we all have differences but are the same. If I was to show someone around Australia we would have to tour the whole country. Australia is such a beautiful place full of some of the most sceinic places in the world. White sand beaches like in western Australia, One of the seven wonders in Queensland, amazing terrains like the great ocean drive in Victoria, cities full of opportunities like Sydney, New South Wales, the list would never finish.
