1.- Arielle, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born in the city Alkmaar. Thats also where I live now. However I was raised in a small town Langedijk, near Alkmaar. I still work there two days a week because I miss the peolple and realm there. It’s a town with a lot of history and is known for a district with ‘a thousand islands’. Besdes that it has great nature. There is a park nearby where nature takes the center stage. All kinds of protected animals live there. I hope to live there again once!
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
In my spare time I like to cook for family and friends, make music or walk in nature after a hard day at work. Sometimes I go to the forest or beach. Other times I like to go to the dunes. I am a mental health worker and some days are hard on my and my colleagues because of the clients we support or other circumstances.
It makes me laugh to be with my friends. But to see people grow gives me so much joy. That’s why I chose to be a mental health worker, to help others. To help them to recovery and to be their best selfs. I encourage my clients and the peolple around me to set personal boundaries. Thats also my advocacy for this pageant. Besides my work in mental health, I still work at Albert Heijn, a grocary store, where I am Shiftleader. My co-workers there are a few years younger than me and I see them struggle to set their boundaries every day. Sometimes they don’t even recognise their own boundaries. I love helping them to get to know their personal boundaries and how to speak up.
3.-International Model, Miss Universe Noord-Holland 2025 Finalist. When did you decided take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
In 2018 I participated at Miss Teen of Noord-Holland, where I became first runner-up. For me that was a lifechanging experience. It helped me grow personally. Now, 7 years later, I realised I wanted to reach a bigger audience for my personal mission. I want to create awareness for personal boundaries. How do you recognise when someone crosses that boundary and how do you respectfully speak up. It’s something I do for work everyday, but reality shows a lot more peolpe need guidance. I entered this pageant because with this greater goal to achieve.
When I became a finalist, a feeling of proud rushed trough my body. I felt incredibly happy and proud of myself. Right now I feel honoured to get this opportunity to work with amazing people. Personally this is a dream coming true.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Arielle in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
My unique stamp is my empathy. This trait allows me to connect deeply with othere, whether it’s my audience, the young peolple I aim to inspire, or the people I collaborate with in the industry. Empathy helps me understand and share feelings of othere, which enables me to create meaningful and impactful connections. It’s important to me to listen, care and show compassion in order to make a real difference.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
The main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model is resilience, especially when it comes to personal boundaries. In the modeling industry, resilience is not only about overcoming challenges and rejections but also about maintaining the strength to assert and respect personal boundaries.
As a finalist, resilience helps me navigate a variety of pressure. Besides this pageant I work two jobs and still have friends and family I want to see. But I need to make sacrifices in order to follow my dreams. For me it’s crucial to stay close to my personal boundaries. When my body tells me I need to take rest. I take rest. It’s important to me to help others, but I cannot take care of others when I cannot take care of myself.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I am definitely aware that I am an influential woman, especially for young woman. That’s why I decided to participate in Miss Universe Noord-Holland. It’s not that I want to become an idol, but I do want to exert a certain influence on women around the world. Many women often struggle to say no because they feel the need to be helpful and caring, which leads them to forget their own need. This is something I want to change.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time I modeled in front of a video camera was for a friend. She studied to be a videographer and I was helping her for a school assignment. The feeling I had was joy. We had so much fun!
The first time I participated in an beauty pageant was back in 2018 at Miss Teen of Noord-Holland. I felt joy, growth and proud then. I grew personally during that time. It’s something I wish everyone can experience.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media today is incredibly powerful, and it has both its advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, it allows people to connect with others from all over the world, creating a platform for voices to be heard and making it possible to reach a vast audience—literally, the whole universe. This global reach is something I try to use to my advantage to raise awareness about important issues, especially for women.
However, social media also has its downsides. Often, it presents an unrealistic image of perfection. People, especially young women, can be exposed to carefully curated versions of life, where everything seems flawless. This can create pressure to live up to an ideal that doesn’t reflect the reality behind the scenes. Everyone has their struggles, but social media allows us to show only what we want others to see, leading to the creation of these unrealistic standards.
I try to set myself apart by being authentic. I don’t alter my appearance in photos, other than adjusting the lighting for the best effect. For me, it’s important to show that there is beauty in imperfection and that it’s okay to not be perfect. I want to remind young women that they don’t have to conform to the idealized images often portrayed online. Instead, they should embrace who they truly are.
In the end, social media is a powerful tool that can be used for good if we use it responsibly. It can spread positive messages, raise awareness, and inspire change. My goal is to use this platform to empower women to set boundaries, embrace their true selves, and be confident in who they are, rather than striving for an unrealistic version of beauty.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I interact with as many people as posible! My social media is accesible for anyone and I want my DM to be a safe space. My favorite social media is Instagram, because my followers know who I am.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
For young people with talent who are hesitant to take the next step, I would advise them to trust in their abilities and take small steps toward their dreams. It’s important to remember that growth happens when you step outside of your comfort zone, even if it feels daunting at first. Fear of failure is natural, but it should not stop you from pursuing what you’re passionate about. Embrace your uniqueness, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes along the way—they are part of the learning process. Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in you and your potential. Remember, the world needs your voice and talents, and taking the first step is the only way to begin your journey.
As for parents who may not support their children’s talents, my advice would be to encourage open communication. Sometimes, parents might not fully understand their child’s passion or vision, but it’s important to express why their talents matter to them. I advocate for the importance of setting personal boundaries, and one of those boundaries is ensuring that your own dreams and passions are respected. Parents should try to listen to their children’s desires, as fostering their growth and self-confidence will benefit both the child and the family. If the child feels supported and empowered, they will be more likely to pursue their passion with confidence and resilience.
Both of these pieces of advice are aligned with my advocacy for personal empowerment and self-expression. I encourage young people to embrace who they are, set boundaries that prioritize their own needs and dreams, and have the resilience to move forward, even when faced with obstacles. The support of others—whether it’s from parents, friends, or mentors—can make a huge difference in helping someone take that next step toward success.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
The most important lesson I have learned from beauty pageants is to overcome fear. No matter what other peolple think, I have a dream, which is Miss Universe. I am very determined to make a difference around the world. I have a voice and I am ready to use it!
12.- Arielle, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
No it has not been easy. When I started in 2018 I took opinions of others very seriously. I was scared nobody liked me or thought I was weird for competing in a beauty pageant. I overcame those obstacles, but it was a long way. I was diagnosed with depression because I let my boundaries be crossed. I did not speak up, because I didn’t recognise my personal boundaries. In therapy I learned how to feel when someone, or sometimes even myself, crosses that boundary. That was my first step to overcoming those obstacles. After that, it became naturally and it didn’t matter as much what others were thinking.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
No I did not. Firstly I want to see how far my adventure at Miss Universe will bring me. After that I will see what and where the universe brings me.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
As I said before, we all have a voice we need to use. As women we need to stick together. In a lot of countries we have the recourses and ability to help others. That’s why I am raising money for Simavi. That’s a fundraising organisation that helps women all over the world for clean water. They get raped in order to drink water, which is not acceptable. I am very lucky to be born where I did. And as a women, I wish that upon everyone.
15.- Arielle, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is my work. I help others everyday. Everyday grateful for the love of my family and friends. They support me anytime and which motivates me even more.
16.- Arielle, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I do like to travel! I have been in a lot of countries in Europe. Last year I was in Egypt. In addition this September and October visited the Philipines and Indonesia. I would love to travel more and learn all about the different cultures around the world.
