1.- Anne, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born in Nieuwegein and raised in Houten. I love Houten. It has that small town feeling, allthough it’s not so small anymore. Everyone knows everyone and I love that.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
I love being creative. I love to scrapbook, make jewellery, crochet and I love to collect vinyls from my favorite artists. One of my favorite things to do is go to concerts!
3.- Model – Teen Unity Netherlands 2025 Finalist When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
If you had told me 5 years ago that I would participate in pageants I wouldn’t have believed you. I didn’t know that there are pageants for women with a bigger clothing size. I want to be an example for women with a bigger clothing size, because there is almost no representation for bigger women in the media.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Anne in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
I am authentic. I am always 100% myself.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
Self-confidence and self-love.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I feel honored to be seen as a role model. I want to be an example for girls and teenagers that you can be who you want to be regardless of your clothing size.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first photoshoot I did I was so nervous. At first, I had no clue what I was doing. But throughout the photoshoot I realized that I was really enjoying it.
My first Pageant: I was so excited for all the training and the finale! I remember walking on stage in my beautiful finale dress. I felt so proud of myself. Despite this being completely out of my comfort zone I still did it. I couldn’t be happier and prouder.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media is incredibly powerful. It is so wonderful to see the pageant community online. Women supporting other women.
Social media can also be used to spread hate, but it is also a very powerful tool to spread positivity. Also to recognize yourself in others.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
My favorite social media is TikTok (@esny.anne)
I like to respond to all the comments like we are one big friend group.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
Step out of the comfort zone. Yes, it is scary and new and you don’t know what’s going to happen. But that’s what’s so exciting. Anything can happen! You are going to grow, gain confidence and make new friends. It is truly wonderful to be a part of the pageant community.
For the parents I have the same advice. What might also help is to talk with the organizations of the pageant.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
Step out of your comfort zone. In my wildest dreams I would have never imaged that I would participate in a pageant, but here I am. Although it was way out of my comfort zone, I really wanted to try it. And I ended up falling in love with it!
12.- Anne, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
I am very shy. So standing in front of a camera did not come easy. I had to grow and learn how to pose and how to feel confident in front of a camera. Luckily, that happened fast, and I completely fell in love with modelling.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I would love to act one day! I used to do theater and take drama classes and I loved every second of it.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
Us women have come a long way throughout history, but we have a long way to go.
15.- Anne, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is making other girls/teenagers/women feel seen. As a woman with a bigger clothing size, I never had someone to look up to in the media. That made me feel alone because I had never seen someone that looked like me. I hope that by me doing this, other women can recognize themselves in me and feel less alone.
16.- Anne, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I love to travel. I haven’t traveled a lot but there are a ton of places I want to visit. My favorite country’s I’ve been to are Italy and the UK. I would love to visit the US, India and Greece one day.
If you come to visit The Netherlands, I would recommend visiting Volendam and de Waddeneilanden.
