1. – Aastha, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. What do you like about your hometown?

I was born in Nepal, and I spent my childhood days in the beautiful capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu. I moved to Australia alone when I was just 18 years old and am now an Australian citizen. Melbourne is where I grew into the woman I am today – my hometown where I have spent almost 9 years of my life. Melbourne is one of the most liveable cities in the world known for its coffee culture, beautiful parks, and vibrant festivals, it is a dynamic city with a mix of modern and historic architecture.

2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?

I am all about exploring new ideas in life – whether that’s diving into a new adventure, creating something new through art and craft, or fashion and styling or even losing myself in my kitchen creating a new recipe. Nature is another big one for me – spending time outdoors always recharges my spirit. I do love my diverse roles as a model, a registered nurse, and a small business owner, grateful to be able to balance these professions alongside giving time to things that I am passionate about.

As what makes me laugh? Honestly, it’s as simple as having my favourite food on my plate and I must admit, I have a particular fondness for walking down the aisle—though to clarify, I’m referring to the aisle of an airplane (laughs).

3.-International Model, Miss Galaxy Australia 2025 National Finalist. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

I have always been passionate about the fashion industry and grew up watching beauty pageants. My official modelling journey started when I was 18 years old, and I even did a music video. My pageant journey has recently started with Australia Galaxy Pageants. I have always loved tiaras as a kid, mum said I always wanted one for my birthdays, however my pageant journey is beyond the crown and the sparkles.
I am proudly representing inclusivity and body positivity in the pageant land as a petite model, awareness generation for youth mental health and raising a voice for empowering women through my platform. I believe every woman regardless of their height and size deserves to feel empowered and represented. The Australia Galaxy pageant holds a special value of empowering women to be the best version of themselves which aligns with my personal values and my platform. I am someone who believes that you should never stop stepping into a better version of yourself and there are no limitations to this.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Aastha in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?

I believe my distinctive and unique stamp is the authenticity and purpose I bring to everything I do. I carry my story — as a woman who faced challenges through different phases of life, embraced her roots, and turned her dreams into reality — with pride. Whether I’m walking the runway, speaking on stage, or engaging with my community, I represent resilience, diversity, and the message that beauty is not just about appearance, but about heart, values, and the impact we leave behind. I aim to inspire others to embrace who they are, stand tall, and believe that they, too, belong anywhere they choose to be.

5.- What is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?

A key virtue that any woman must have is resilience. The modelling industry is highly competitive, demanding, and ever-changing. Resilience allows a model to handle rejection, adapt to different environments, and stay confident and true to their values despite facing challenges. However, I would like to emphasise that resilience is not only essential in the modelling industry or for women alone — it is a vital quality that every individual, regardless of gender, must possess in their everyday life.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

It would truly be an honour to be an influential figure for any girl to look up to. For me, being an idol is not just about inspiring them to chase their dreams but also about encouraging them to embrace their individuality, build resilience, and stay true to their values. I believe an idol is someone who leads by example and leaves a mark on hearts, not just on minds. There was a time in my life when I did not believe in my worth and was about to give up on everything however I did not and that mattered. If my journey can empower even one girl to believe in herself and her potential, that
means everything to me.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

Stepping into the world of modelling for the first time was a beautiful blend of chasing something I always dreamed of combined with something I was scared to give it a go with that naturally nerves followed.
Now, as I prepare to experience my very first beauty pageant with the Australia Galaxy Pageant, I know it will be a moment I’ll cherish forever. While I may be new to the pageant world, I am not new to myself — give my own story of building a home in entirely new country where I did not have anyone except my own shadows during the darkest phase of life, I have learned the power of kindness, and implementing this power into connection, and selflessly giving back to the community can make a difference in someone’s life. Finals are just weeks away, nerves have started to kick in but grounded in authenticity, I embrace this journey with an open heart.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

I believe social media is one of the most powerful tools of today’s generation. It helps to connect people beautifully around the globe, giving us the opportunity to share knowledge, raise awareness, and inspire change. If used correctly it has the power to build communities, break barriers, and give a voice to those who were once unheard. But with that power comes great responsibility. I believe it’s important to use social media positively — to spread kindness, empower others, and create a platform where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? What’s your favorite social media?

Currently my favourite social media is Instagram as this is where I have got most of my modelling jobs from, where I have been promoting my pageant journey with Australia Galaxy pageant and where my platform found a home. I believe Instagram’s global accessibility makes it an excellent tool for raising awareness and simply connecting with others.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

To young people who have talent but hesitate to take the next step, my advice is simple: believe in yourself before waiting for others to believe in you because that might never happen. Fear and doubt are natural, but they should never be stronger than your dreams. The world needs your talent, and the only way to grow is to take that first step, no matter how small. For instance, if I had never dared to leave my family and familiarity at such a young age maybe I would have never been able to reach where I am today. Success begins the moment you choose courage over fear.

To parents who do not support their children’s talents, I ask you to listen with an open heart. Every great innovator, artist, and leader was once a child with a dream. Your support can be the difference between a child who flourishes and one who suppresses their potential. Encourage them, guide them, and most importantly, believe in them—because nothing is more powerful than a child who knows they are supported.

11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

The world of fashion and the current journey of beauty pageant taught me that true beauty is not just about how you look, but how you make others feel. These platforms have shown me that beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and colours — and that diversity is what truly makes us beautiful. I have learned that true beauty radiates from within, and that embracing individuality is what sets us apart. It has reinforced
the significance of empowering others, celebrating diversity, and using our platforms to inspire positive change in the world. Above all, I’ve learned that using my voice and my presence to uplift others is the most powerful thing I can do, both on and off the stage.

12.- Aastha, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

My modelling journey did not come easy. Throughout various stages of my life, I was subjected to severe bullying, which led me to step away from modelling entirely. The hurtful experiences I endured took a toll on my self-esteem, leaving me shattered and without the courage to continue. Things changed when I stopped letting others’ opinions define me. I focused on self-love, body positivity, and prioritising my
well-being, which helped me heal. I returned to modelling in September last year, and in just six months, I’ve achieved more than I imagined while balancing other jobs and studies. I believe height, weight, and body type are just numbers—confidence, passion, and determination are what truly define us. Never stop pursuing what you love; the universe has so much to offer, and you are the one who can make it happen.

13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

I’ve always found the idea of acting intriguing. The entertainment industry offers such a dynamic platform for creativity and self-expression. It’s an exciting space where storytelling and connecting with others take centre stage, and I admire the impact it can have. While I haven’t fully explored it yet, I certainly appreciate the art of acting and the opportunities it provides for growth and creativity.

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

I believe the role of women in every society is evolving, and no matter how long it takes, change is unstoppable. Women are not just the backbone of families; we are leaders, innovators, and changemakers. In societies where women still face abuse, education, empowerment, and global support will break these barriers. Raised by a single mother, I witnessed firsthand the struggles women face with limited support. At 18, I stepped out of my comfort zone to build a life from scratch in a new country, learning the true meaning of strength and resilience. By 23, despite facing numerous challenges and having no support system during some of the toughest moments of my life, I was able to secure a clinical leadership role. My journey has shown me that women are capable of achieving anything they set their minds to. This is why I have created my platform to empower women, helping them rise, speak, and lead. The future belongs to women who break boundaries, and I believe that every woman deserves equality—it’s not a privilege, it’s a right.

15.- Aastha, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

My motivation comes from my journey and the strong women who raised me. Every day, I wake up grateful for the opportunity to represent not just myself, but the younger version of me who had been through so much and did not believe in her worth and every girl who has ever felt unseen or unheard. Knowing that by standing here, I can be a voice of hope, strength, and inspire others to give things they love a go is an absolute motivation for me.

I’m extremely grateful for my family, my health, and the gift of life, simple as food on my plate, a roof over my head, and the chance to pursue my dreams every day.

16.- Aastha, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?

I have a deep passion for traveling, and I’m fortunate to have visited 15 countries so far, each leaving me with cherished magnetic souvenirs as a reminder of the incredible journeys I will cherish for life. I feel truly grateful to be living the life I once dreamed of as a child, experiencing the world in ways I never imagined possible. I do have 55 on my bucket list at the moment and am hoping to get a couple more ticked off this year. Travelling for me is like an open book, offering lessons that you were never taught in the classroom.

In Australia, I highly recommend visiting the Great Barrier Reef, the stunning beaches of the Gold Coast, and the iconic Sydney Opera House and of course my hometown, Melbourne. Australia’s diverse landscapes and vibrant cities offer a truly unforgettable experience, and you might get free koala hugs if you are lucky during your visits.

18.- Aastha, your last words or final tips

My final words would be — always lead with kindness, stay true to your values, and never stop believing in your dreams. Beauty fades, but the impact we create through compassion and purpose stays forever. So, wherever life takes you, carry your crown in your heart, not just on your head.
