Elke Van den Eynden – Mrs Face of Beauty Belgium

It is an honor to introduce Elke Van den Eynden – Mrs Face of Beauty Belgium – Model. Elke gives me a fabulous interview where we will learn about her career, thoughts and advice.

Elke is our first guest from Belgium and it is a great honor for me to interview her.

Welcome Elke Van den Eynden!!!

1.- Elke, you were born in Belgium ,What do you like about your hometown in Belgium?

Hi, I live in Bornem, a little village in Belgium. I really love it here because it is not too busy and a lot of people know each other. But especially I love it when it is ‘de dodentocht’. Our little town is overflown with people from all around the world. And this is to walk 100km in just 24 hours. I think that’s crazy and awesome at the same time.

2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?

One of my hobbies is traveling. I love seeing new parts of the world and explore freely. I like to go to cities but I do prefer nature. But also amusement parks, like Disneyland Paris.

I also like to read. If I could choose I read a book in English book instead of a book written in Dutch. I find it easier to read.

3.- International Model, Mrs Face of Beauty Belgium – When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

I never really made the decision for modeling. It is kind of funny. One of my best friends wanted to learn photography and asked me if I wanted to help. So I kind of rolled into it. Soon other photographers asked me to stand model for them. And it was kind of the same thing for my pageant. They asked me if I wanted to participate and I thought why not.

It is unreal what I already have accomplished to be honest. I never thought I would have an international title and have to go represent Belgium. But all the hard work paid off.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Elke in each activity carried out as a person and model?

I think that it is the love and fun I put in everything. It is so important to love what you do and seek the joy in everything. Even if it is something I do not really like to do. I will always look for a positive aspect of it and make it more enjoyable.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?

Confidence. You have to be confident in what you are doing. Sometimes things will make you insecure but if you are confident in the person that you are, you can handle whatever is in your way.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

I really hope I influence people in their way of living and not in appearance. I think girls have to be confident in how they look no matter what. I just hope they see that if you work hard, be compassionate to others and be kind you can achieve everything. I will be focusing this a lot more on my socials because we all know that it is about the pictures on there. And that is how I want them to see that your way of living is so more important.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

I felt like Bambi on ice. The first seconds I was terrified!

But then I remembered that if I would just enjoy myself I could never loose. You win when you are having fun, even if you don’t get a price afterwards.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

I think we are being influenced to much by it in wrong ways. A lot of people are comparing their lives with the ones of influencers. But to be honest, we al know that the most people wont put negative things on it about their lives. And if we are real we would do that to. Not every day can be perfect.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

That would be Instagram. I think it is an multifunctional platform where you can easily interact with each other by chat, photo’s, video’s,… I hope everyone also reads further and not only look at the pictures because there is so much more than just a nice photo.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

Dare! You have to dare yourself to do it. Because you loose nothing if you don’t use it you ca only win things. I am not talking about a real price. No, there is no better thing then the experience and the adventure.

And to the parents, support but do not push them. Help them and encourage them. But do not make them things do they do not want.

11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

To trust in yourself because you are your only limit. Do not compare yourself with others because everyone is different. And your differences make you unique. You have to be proud of who you are and know that you always will be growing. You never stop bettering yourself and if you accept that and stand open for this, you know you can make it.

12.- Elke, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

Not really. You need to practice a lot. Otherwise you always catch yourself falling for the same poses. Also finding trustworthy photographers isn’t always that easy. I mostly work together with the same photographer because I know him.

13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

To be honest, yes I did. I like acting in front of a camera and playing with my emotions. But I only appeared in a few Belgian series. I hope to do more acting work in the future.

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

I hate it that women are in some countries still oppressed. And I think we should fight for their rights. I think this is our job because mostly if they do it themselves they bring their life and family in danger. I hope one day this will be pure history and women of all countries can enjoy the life that they want without being afraid.

15.- Elke, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

People. I warm myself with the people I love. Even on some days when I don’t feel good I know that my friends or family will always be there to cheer me up, help me or we feel bad together. But I am so grateful to know I always have people who support me.

16.- Elke, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Belgium?

Yes! I already visited a lot in Europe but one of my main goals is to visit at least one land in every continent. I really love Portugal and Italy. They are so beautiful and I would love to visit them again.

On my list to go to is South Africa, New Zealand, The Philippines, America, Brazil,… And so many more.

If you would ever visit Belgium I recommend Antwerp. It is a really beautiful city with lots of nice spots.
