What is Miss & Teen Brillanza?
Miss & Teen Brillanza is an international virtual beauty and talent pageant created by Perumira, the magazine, marketing agency and academy that has interviewed more than 1,800 models and beauty queens from 110 countries, in 10 languages, over 13 years. You compete from home with six videos: no travel, no physical stage and no swimsuit round.
There are two crowns: Miss Brillanza Gold for women aged 18 and over, and Teen Brillanza Crystal for young people aged 13 to 17, with special protection rules.
What does Brillanza mean?
Brillanza is an Italian word meaning luminosity: the intensity of the light something gives off. For us it also joins brilliance with three Spanish words that end the same way: esperanza (hope), alianza (alliance) and confianza (confidence). Shining with hope, in alliance and with confidence.
Terra di Luce means “Land of Light” in Italian (pronounced TEH-rra dee LOO-cheh). It is the borderless place where every contestant, wherever she comes from, brings her own light.
Our purpose
To prepare and give visibility to women and young people around the world so they discover their own shine and use it to inspire others. We celebrate each contestant’s talent, culture and voice, and show that anyone can shine with elegance and values from any corner of the planet.
The 4 kinds of shine
Everything the jury scores is grouped into four kinds of shine:

Single, married, divorced and mothers: all welcome.

Age is counted on the video deadline. One-time payment in euros, with no hidden charges or production costs.

1. First Sparkle (Introduction video)
10 points
Length: 60–90 seconds · ✨ Shine with a Voice
- Your name, country and age.
- Why you want to join Brillanza.
- A fun fact about you and the talent you will show.
- A greeting in your native language and in English.
Tip: Show a sign with your name and today’s date for 3 seconds. Look at the camera and smile.
2. Roots that Shine (National costume video)
15 points
Length: 60–90 seconds · ✨ Shine without Borders
- Say your name and country.
- Walk toward the camera, turn and pose in your national or traditional costume (full body, camera 2–3 metres away).
- In about 20 seconds, explain what the costume means and where it comes from.
Tip: Honour your culture: no stereotypes and no costumes that mock a people.
3. Talent in the Light (Talent video)
25 points
Length: up to 3 minutes · ✨ Shine that Inspires
- Say your name and your talent.
- Singing, dancing, an instrument, poetry, acting, painting, sport, public speaking or anything you do with passion.
- Singing must be live (no lip-sync). Music must be royalty-free or licensed.
Tip: This is the highest-scoring stage. One continuous take is recommended.
4. Gala Night (Evening wear video)
15 points
Length: 60–90 seconds · ✨ Inner Shine
- Say your name and country.
- Walk, turn and finish with a final pose in an evening gown or formal outfit.
- There is no swimsuit round. In Teen Brillanza Crystal, clothing must be modest and age-appropriate.
Tip: Every body is welcome. We score elegance, posture and confidence.
5. Terra di Luce (Cultural video of your city)
15 points
Length: 2–3 minutes · ✨ Shine without Borders
- Say your name and your city.
- Visit or present a historic place, museum, monument or heritage site in your city or region.
- Share 3 facts about its history, why it matters and why people should visit.
Tip: Do not film where it is forbidden. If you cannot go, use photos and your own narration. Teen: always with an adult.
6. Voice of Light (Jury questions video)
20 points
Length: 3–4 minutes · ✨ Shine with a Voice · Inner Shine
- On Question Day we send the same 3 questions to every contestant (by WhatsApp; for Teen, to the guardian’s WhatsApp).
- Record one single take: say your name and answer each question in 60 seconds or less.
- No notes, no reading, no cuts.
Tip: Answer in your language or in English. If you use your language, add English subtitles or a short English summary.
Language
Every contestant may speak her native language. The pageant runs mainly in English, so add English subtitles or a short English summary if you speak another language.
Jury and scoring
Each category is scored by a jury of 5 judges: pageant professionals, modelling and communication experts, culture and arts specialists, former queens and a Perumira editor. In each stage the highest and lowest scores are dropped and the other three are averaged.

Tie-break: highest Talent score, then Voice of Light, then First Sparkle.
Titles and prizes
- Miss Brillanza Gold and Teen Brillanza Crystal (world winners): crown, sash, a printed copy of Perumira Magazine with her story and the Perumira Global Passport (Pro).
- Country Winner (highest score in each country with at least 2 contestants in the category): crown, sash, a printed copy of Perumira Magazine and the Perumira Global Passport (Smart).
- 1st and 2nd runner-up in each category: digital certificate and a feature on Perumira’s social media.
- All contestants: digital certificate of participation and scoresheet.
“Destellos” special awards (digital certificate)
- Talent Sparkle: the best talent video.
- Culture Sparkle: the best national costume and city video.
- Kindness Sparkle: the best-presented social cause.
- Digital Sparkle: the best video quality and communication.
- People’s Sparkle: free public vote, Miss Brillanza Gold only. It does not change the jury score.
- Friendship Sparkle: chosen by the jury in Teen Brillanza Crystal (there is no public vote in Teen).
Reign and commitments
- The reign lasts 12 months.
- Winners keep spotless conduct during their reign; otherwise the crown may be withdrawn.
- During the reign they may not enter another pageant without Perumira’s written permission.
- If a Miss Brillanza Gold winner resigns early, she pays a penalty: €150 (Country Winner) or €300 (World Winner). There is no financial penalty in Teen Brillanza Crystal. Details in the Terms and Conditions.
Teen Brillanza Crystal protection
- Consent: a parent or legal guardian registers from their own WhatsApp.
- Contact: every message goes to the guardian, never to the contestant alone.
- No swimsuit: that round does not exist in any category.
- Clothing and photos: modest, age-appropriate clothing, natural makeup, no suggestive poses. The guardian is present when filming in public places.
- Data: we publish only first name and country. Never school, address, exact city or personal social accounts.
- Publishing: videos of minors are posted only on official Perumira channels, with moderated comments. The guardian can ask for removal at any time.
- No fines: if a Teen resigns, only the title is withdrawn.
2028 edition calendar
- 2 October 2028: Official start of the edition and registration opens
- 25 October 2028: Registration closes
- 26 October – 8 November: Videos 1 to 5 due
- 9 November: Question Day (3 questions by WhatsApp)
- 15 November: Video 6 (Voice of Light) due
- 16 – 25 November: Jury scoring and People’s Sparkle vote
- 30 November 2028: Live virtual grand final and winners announced

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to speak English?
No. Use your native language and add English subtitles or a short English summary.
Do I need professional equipment?
No. A phone with good light and clear sound is enough. No filters, please.
Is it safe for teenagers?
Yes. Teen contestants need guardian consent, all contact goes through the guardian, and their videos are only posted on official channels.
Can mothers or married women take part?
Yes, in Miss Brillanza Gold, from age 18 with no upper limit.
How do I pay?
Through WhatsApp @perumira: a team member sends you the payment options and confirms your registration. Prices are in euros.
Does winning guarantee contracts or modelling work?
No. Brillanza gives you visibility, experience and prizes, but it does not promise contracts or professional results.
Can I reuse videos from another pageant?
No. Every video must be recorded for this edition.
