1.- Gladene, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born and raised in Far Rockaway Queens New York. Queens have taught me how to be unique, outspoken and artistic. My parents come from jamaica. Mother Waterhouse and my father from St. Elizabeth. They both have taught me so much about their hometown and childhood and made sure to always remind me where I really come from.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
My hobbies would be dancing, painting, coloring, crocheting, roller skating and learning.
Comedy and cartoons literally puts me in a place of happiness. But there’s nothing greater than my family and friends. Without them I wouldn’t have anyone to make laugh or bring joy to me.
3.-International Model, Miss Planet International Jamaica 2024. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I was in middle school when I came to realization that I loved to walk in heels. Fashion was another thing for me. Everyone growing up knew of me as the girl with the weird style. I bring New York and island vibes into one. But at this time my parents couldn’t afford to put me through school for modeling. After high school I started working and was able to take that chance of putting my self through school in 2015.
I feel confident in my dreams. I’m the only one in control of my life and have no regrets because everyone has a story to tell. I’m very passionate about this journey of mine because all I want to do in this world is to show many that tough times will past you just have ask believe and receive.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Gladene in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
I’m very determined. I’m able to take pain, struggles and failures and turn it into something beautiful. I’m the true definition of a rose in a concrete. I smile and keep my head high so the world knows that I’m strong and magnificent. Carry myself with love and positivity. Spreading that energy throughout each and everyone.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
Having a mindset that good will always over power bad. Caring for the less fortunate. Putting god and your family first. Responsible and obedient for the greater good. Being authentic, showing compassionate in order to serve and nurture.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
All I ever wanted was to influence young ladies. Teach them to love theirselves inside out. There’s young individuals that may come from where I come from. A rough neighborhood or poverty. Believing their dreams are limited because they know it’s a small chance to even survive let alone live and dream. It’s extremely important to me to be an idol for these young girls because life will tear you down but I’m here to teach to fight back for their faith, desire and strength as well as their beauty.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time in front of camera was a little nerv recking but the second time around I let my hair down and became the main character ever since. I felt fierce, stunning and unstoppable.
This will be my first beauty pageant. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to happen. Sometimes the universe sets things up for you first a reason.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media can be too powerful. It’s great in a sense but it can also be detrimental. It helps many to expand and be successful. And others to question their life…
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
Im overly friendly and caring. I adore making new friends. I don’t care if it’s a homeless person. Social media is exciting I get to meet people all over the globe.
My favorite social media would have to me TikTok. You can learn a lot from there
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
Please don’t wait to long to show off your super powers. I’ve been dreaming since I could talk. And it took me over 20 years to invest in myself. The only person that matters is you don’t be scared it’s just a feeling. Choose to be brave !
Parents I know it’s hard sometimes to accommodate your child and their dreams but it really does matter. It makes or breaks them. They must learn from now. Instill confidence within them. They are the next generation
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
Always be your authentic unique self. Don’t be afraid to add a little dazzle dazzle. God placed us all here to share and interwine. We are the living proof of art. Show off those lovely facial features, body shape and style.
12.- Gladene, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Being a model hasn’t been the easiest. I definitely enjoy what I do. I can be an empty canvas and turn myself into a portait. Til this day I am still overcoming obstacles. I’ve gotten more yays than nays. I’m grateful for the obstacles without them I wouldn’t know how to deal with pressure.

I am an actress and dancer.
I love the entertainment industry because it’s fun for me. It doesn’t feel like work. I enjoy sharing emotions through story telling and dancing.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
We can not succeed in life without women. Men and women were created to equally make this planet a better place. We women play a huge role in this society without us there’s no future. We are as powerful and capable as men but we bring love, comfort and gentleness.
