1.- Zintle, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. What do you like about your hometown?
East London (Xhosa: eMonti; Afrikaans: Oos-Londen) is a city on the southeastern coast of South Africa, in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, Eastern Cape Province. The city lies on the Indian Ocean coast, largely between the Buffalo River and the Nahoon River.
What I like about my city is the ocean, the sound of crashing waves by the shoreline is tranquil and it’s the sound of Home, calming and recharges the spirit. The warmth from the locals makes it even more amazing, you must experience it to understand it. East London locals are one of the happiest, warm-hearted and welcoming people.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
I enjoy creating (drawing and painting portraits), attending a stand-up comedy show or being part of community that dedicates its services to a good cause. If I’m on vacation I’m the happiest when I can relax under a sunshade and get lost in a book.
3.-International Model, Miss Planet International South Africa 2024. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
This is a good question, thank you for asking. I’ve always wanted to do modeling but due to height restrictions I couldn’t participate in runway shows. I met a friend (Monalisa Colditz) in a German for beginner’s class in university and she was looking for a model as she was a photography student so in 2014, I started my photography modeling jounrey.
Miss Planet International is going to be my very first beauty pageant and I’m excited to experience the whole journey. I had an interest in entering in South African beauty pageants, but fear held me back, from realizing my dream and that is why I’m excited and honoured to be Miss Planet International South Africa 2024, it is truly a dream realized to not only represent but be recognized as an influential woman from South Africa.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Zintle in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
Passion is my unique stamp! I am a passionate person, when I set my heart on something I commit to it wholeheartedly. I also believe that passion is subjective thus in activities carried out as a beauty queen and a model, that would be a combination of experiences, values, personality and how I view the world that has influenced by my background.
5.- What is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?
Humble Confidence – it’s being secure enough in your expertise and strengths to admit your ignorance and weaknesses.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I wasn’t fully aware of the magnitude of the role of being influential to many girls and teenagers before, but I have come to realise how important it is, and I think through being genuine in how I live my life, that is the most important character. I am honoured to be seen as a person who has an impact in young girls and teenagers, I am driven by my background and the dreams I pursue are informed by my experience, good and bad. I am fulfilled by extending a hand and helping those that come after me that might be experiencing the challenges I had experienced.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time I modeled in front of a camera and on stage, it was exhilarating, the nerves before going on stage but when I started walking, the feeling felt natural, and I didn’t want the show to stop. 😊
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media has a big influence on various aspects of our lives both positive and negative and due to the world evolving so fast, technology and social media are paramount therefore it’s important to balance its benefits and addressing its drawbacks is essential for maximizing its positive impact on society.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? What’s your favorite social media?
My favourite social media platform is Instagram, I prefer using this platform to interact with my followers as I am not active on other platforms. I also like Instagram because it has a variety of ways to be creative and I can connect with followers through informative content.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
This is a good question for me especially as I was the person who didn’t dare to take on this challenge before. I would say to young people who have the talent and want to pursue their dreams, “challenge yourself as if your next life milestone relied on this opportunity and you’ll be surprised by the growth you get from the experience and winning will be extra prize on top of the cultivating journey”.
I would encourage parents to support their children’s talent’s, the world is rapidly changing so the best thing you can do is walk the journey of your children’s interests with them, learn with them as they discover themselves through their interests and that support would be an added boost to their confidence and an inspiration.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
As someone who studied consumer studies in high school, I look at fashion with a technical lense. You can’t go wrong with a classic look, it is also important to appreciate trending styles to acknowledge the fashion era you’re in, so a classic look with a trendy look is a good combination.
The most important thing is confidence in yourself, walk with grace, and always wear a gentle smile to seal the look.
12.- Zintle, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Anything worth doing will challenge you, for me modeling is therapeutic, when I get in front of the camera, I channel a character and forget about anything that might have been distracting me. My biggest challenge has been being confident in my poses, so I taught myself affirmation and pose I with confidence portraying a character of the role I’m modelling, and the photographer’s direction can be an additional boost.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I have thought of being an actress when I was younger, but I haven’t had an opportunity to practice that side of creativity, if an opportunity presents itself, I’d learn the skill and give it a try. I like the entertainment industry; I think it’s one of the few, if not only that gives you life lessons in all varieties either over a long term or short term. It is not heavily regulated as others and so there are many uncertainties but that is also the beauty of it as it allows you to be creative, be agile and be empathetic.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
Thank you for this question, this is a sensitive topic as it is difficult to comprehend that in this era there are women who are free and yet there are other societies that still abuse women. The role of women in future in those societies would be when they find an opportunity to be free from abuse, they should protect the women that come after them and create a safe space for them to thrive.
15.- Zintle, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
I am motivated by where I come from and where I am going, I didn’t imagine I would be where I am 5 years ago and that is motivation for me to keep going and see how far I can go. I am grateful for the people that came before me and created opportunities that I get to experience.
16.- Zintle, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I enjoy travelling, experiencing different cultures, food and history. I have traveled to a few countries such as Ghana, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Qatar, France and Prague. I had a unique experience on all of them on food, culture and the history which makes one be appreciative of the travel experience and it’s amazing how all 3 of these (food, culture and history) are connected and influence each other. I would recommend people to visit East London, there’s a private game lodge for a relaxed vacation and yet in December which is summer in South Africa, it is one of the busiest cities as most people come from bigger metropolitan cities to experience the beauty of the city and the warmth of its people. Limpopo has various hidden gems and if you want to get lost in nature that’s one of the places to visit and Cape Town offers beautiful landscapes and there’s always something to do throughout the year, it’s located in western cape which is where you’ll find the point where to oceans meet (the Indian ocean and the Atlantic Ocean).

Be intentional! In anything you commit to, be intentional, if it doesn’t work out that is fine, go back to the drawing board and commit until you find a breakthrough.
