On January 11, Ilsa van der Heijden was crowned Miss Progress Netherlands 2026.

From May 29 to June 7, she will represent the Netherlands at the international final of Miss Progress International 2026 in Puglia, Italy. A platform where substance, social commitment, and personal mission take centre stage.
1.- Who is Ilsa van der Heijden?
Ilsa van der Heijden is an ambitious and resilient young woman from Zevenhuizen.
As the reigning Miss Progress Netherlands 2026, she combines outward presentation with meaningful social depth.
With a background in healthcare and animal care, and experience as a manager of a cat hotel, she developed leadership through responsibility and empathy. At the same time, she actively advocates for mental health awareness and greater humanity within care systems.
2.- Childhood & Early Beginnings
At a young age, Ilsa came into contact with mental health care. What should have been a safe environment often felt distant. Having to retell her story repeatedly without truly being heard left a deep impact.
That is where her drive began: it has to be more human.
What started as a personal struggle evolved into a mission transforming vulnerability into strength.

The turning point came when Ilsa decided she no longer wanted to simply survive, but to actively build her recovery and personal development. She realized that real change begins at the core.
Her participation in Miss Progress Netherlands 2026 was not a superficial decision, but a conscious step to make her story visible. Winning the title on January 11 marked a new chapter: from personal growth to public responsibility.

Since her crowning, Ilsa has been preparing intensively for the international journey. Miss Progress is not only about appearance, but about social impact, vision, and power.
During the international final in Puglia, Italy, she will represent the Netherlands among candidates from various countries, aiming to share her mission of mental health awareness and humanity on an international stage. The journey requires discipline, mental strength, and authenticity qualities she has consciously developed over the past years.
