Shania Anthony represents a new generation of Australian women who lead with authenticity, purpose and heart. Born in Perth and later making Melbourne her home, Shania’s journey has been shaped by diversity, movement and a deep connection to both community and nature. From discovering new landscapes through camping to finding strength and expression through dance, her path reflects a balanced blend of discipline and creativity.
As a Miss Galaxy Australia 2026 National Finalist, Shania stepped into the world of pageantry with a clear intention: to challenge herself, grow beyond her comfort zone and become the best version of who she could be. What began as a personal challenge quickly evolved into a powerful platform—one that allows her to inspire others while giving back to her local community, which she considers her greatest achievement.
Beyond the stage, Shania is a dedicated calisthenics coach and dancer, roles that allow her to uplift and support others both physically and mentally. Her presence as a beauty queen and model is grounded in genuine passion, compassion and resilience. In this exclusive interview with Perumira Magazine, Shania shares her reflections on confidence, authenticity, social media influence and the responsibility that comes with being a role model for young women across Australia and beyond.

1.- Shania, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born in Perth and grew up there until my teenage years. I’ve always had a deep love for it, it felt like a place full of opportunity to explore, and I experienced school as very diverse, which I really valued as it allowed me to learn about people from many different backgrounds.
I moved to Melbourne during high school and have been here ever since. It’s such a big, dynamic city, and over the years I’ve enjoyed discovering different areas and making it feel like home. One of my biggest passions is camping, so being able to find new places and escape into nature has always been something I truly cherish.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
In my spare time, I work as a calisthenics coach, which I absolutely love. It gives me the opportunity to be creative while also supporting the team both physically and mentally as they prepare for the stage.
I’m also a dancer which brings me so much joy. It allows me to express myself creatively and stay connected to my body. Being in that environment, whether coaching or dancing, is what makes me laugh the most and truly fills my cup.
3.- Miss Galaxy Australia 2026 National Finalist. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I took my first step into the world of beauty pageants in 2025 when I entered Australia Galaxy Pageants for the very first time. I was looking for something that would push me out of my comfort zone and challenge me to become the best version of myself.
That experience was incredibly empowering, which is why I chose to re-enter, not only to continue growing personally, but to show others that they, too, are capable of stepping outside their comfort zones and achieving more than they think possible.
Achieving my dreams and pursuing my passions has been deeply fulfilling, but my greatest achievement is being able to give back to my local community. Knowing that my journey can inspire or positively impact others is what truly makes it all worthwhile
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Shania in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
What makes my journey unique is that everything I do comes from a genuine place. I’m passionate about growth, giving back, and showing up with intention. As a beauty queen and model, I strive to represent strength, compassion, and authenticity, and I hope that through my actions I can inspire others to believe in themselves and chase their own dreams.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
Authenticity is the key virtue. Being able to embrace who you are and bring that individuality into every space you enter is what truly sets an international model apart.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I am aware that I have a platform that reaches many young people who dream of becoming models, and I see that as a privilege rather than a title. It’s incredibly important to me to be a positive role model, especially for the younger generations, because I want them to understand that success isn’t just about appearance. It’s about confidence, kindness, resilience, and staying true to who you are. If my journey can encourage even one young person to believe in themself and pursue their goals with integrity, then I feel I’m doing something meaningful.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time I modelled in front of a video camera, I was definitely scared. But once I saw the photos and footage, something shifted. I began to see myself the way others saw me, in a way I hadn’t before. That experience completely changed my confidence and how I viewed myself.
When I entered my first beauty pageant, I felt nervous, as anyone would, but I kept reminding myself that I didn’t need to be anything other than who I already was. Embracing my authentic self helped calm those nerves and allowed me to truly enjoy the experience.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media holds an incredible amount of power today. It has the ability to connect people across the world, amplify voices, and create opportunities that once felt out of reach. At the same time, it comes with responsibility, how we show up online matters.
I believe when social media is used authentically and with purpose, it can inspire, educate, and empower others in a really positive way.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I like to interact with my followers by simply being myself. I share different parts of my life, my personal moments, my dancing journey, and my pageant experiences, so people can connect with the real me. I enjoy engaging through comments and messages and creating a space that feels genuine and positive.
My favourite social media platform is Instagram, as it allows me to visually tell my story while staying connected with my community.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
To young people who have talent but are afraid to take the next step, I would say, start anyway. You don’t have to be fearless or perfect, confidence grows through action.
Trying, learning, and even failing are all part of discovering who you are. If you believe in yourself and stay true to your passion, the rest will follow.
To parents, I would say that your support can change a child’s entire future. Encouragement, even in small ways, can give them the courage to pursue their dreams. You don’t have to fully understand their passion to believe in them, sometimes simply listening, showing interest, and offering reassurance can make all the difference.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
The world of fashion and beauty pageants has taught me that self-belief is everything. If you don’t believe in yourself, it shows, and if you do, that confidence becomes your strongest asset. I’ve learned that authenticity is far more powerful than perfection.
When you show up as your true self, people connect with you on a deeper level. These experiences have taught me to trust who I am, embrace my individuality, and understand that my uniqueness is what sets me apart, both on and off the stage.
12.- Shania, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Being a model hasn’t always been easy. My biggest obstacle was self-criticism, constantly questioning myself and feeling the pressure to be perfect. There were moments of doubt and comparison, but I chose to push through by learning to be kinder to myself and trusting my own journey.
I turned self-criticism into self-belief, reminding myself that growth comes from showing up as my authentic self. Overcoming that mindset has made me stronger, more confident, and more resilient.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I did think about acting at one stage, but it’s not something I’m pursuing now. While I have a lot of respect for the entertainment industry and enjoy being creative in different ways, my focus is on the paths that truly align with who I am today.
I’ve learned that it’s okay for dreams to evolve, and right now I’m fulfilled by the work I’m doing and the purpose behind it.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I grew up being told what my role should be, both through the cultural side of my family and even by strangers who felt entitled to comment. For a long time, that made me doubt myself, especially when I first entered the workforce.
However, working became one of the most empowering things for me, it gave me independence, confidence, and a sense of identity.
Looking to the future, I believe women in these societies will continue to challenge expectations and redefine their roles through education, financial independence, and self-belief. Change may be gradual, but every woman who chooses herself and her future helps create space for others to do the same.
15.- Shania, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation comes from personal growth, becoming the best version of myself and showing my little one that she can do anything she sets her mind to. I want to lead by example and prove that perseverance and self-belief truly matter.
Every day, I’m grateful for my health, the people who support me, and the opportunities I’m given to grow, learn, and continue evolving
16.- Shania, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I absolutely love to travel and have been lucky enough to visit a variety of places around the world. Experiencing different cultures and environments has really shaped the way I see the world. From my own country,
I always recommend the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne, Australia. It’s beautiful, diverse, and has something for everyone, from coastal views to nature escapes. Looking ahead, I’d love to continue exploring new countries and cultures that challenge and inspire me.
