1.- Sacha, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born and raised in Goes, a small yet charming city in the province of Zeeland. The historic city center has been beautifully preserved, giving the town a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Many of my friends live here, which makes it even more special to me! One of the things I love most about my hometown is its proximity to the stunning beaches and the sea. Living so close to the water is a constant reminder of resilience and the importance of adapting to change, much like the tides themselves.
In the summer, you’ll often find me at the beach with friends, enjoying nature and surfing. It’s the perfect place to unwind and recharge while appreciating the beauty of the environment.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
As a teacher in social educational needs, I enjoy working with teenagers and young adults because it’s so rewarding to see them grow. I strive to inspire and motivate them as they discover and shape their unique identities.
Sports have also played a significant role in my life. I practiced acrobatic gymnastics with great passion for many years, where I developed the confidence to perform on stage. I occasionally return to my old gymnastics club to train others. Today, I like to stay active through fitness, swimming, yoga, and Pilates. I also enjoy scuba diving and surfing whenever I get the chance!
Traveling is another passion of mine, as it allows me to explore different cultures and appreciate the beauty of nature around the world. I am also deeply interested in spirituality. During my studies, I completed a minor in mindful communication. I learned about non-violent communication. This experience also included a mindfulness course and compassion training. It helped me shape the way I view and interact with others on a deeper level.
I find joy in inspiring and motivating my students, trying adventurous activities, and seeking new experiences that help me grow as a person. Lastly, spending quality time with my loved ones -preferably with good food and sunshine- always makes me happy!
3.- International Model – Miss Universe Zeeland 2025 Finalist . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I’ve reached a point in my life where I felt ready for the next chapter of personal growth. My mother always told me that while it’s nice to look good, it’s far more important to invest in your education. So, I focused on that and worked hard to build a solid foundation. Now, I feel it’s time to embrace a different side of myself and shine in a new way.
My journey into modeling and pageantry began as a challenge to step outside my comfort zone and push my boundaries. It has been an incredible experience of self-discovery, helping me gain confidence and grow as a person.
Through Miss Universe, I aim to inspire others to embrace their potential and overcome setbacks. This platform allows me to expand my influence beyond the classroom, showing that personal growth doesn’t have a set timeline and that resilience can open new doors. I want to encourage people to see challenges as opportunities for growth and to believe in their ability to achieve great things.
It’s incredibly rewarding to realize that my hard work has brought me here and to use this opportunity to promote the values I hold dear—authenticity, lifelong learning, and the power of resilience. I hope my journey shows others that with determination and an open mind, they too can turn their dreams into reality.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Sacha in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
What sets me apart as a beauty queen and model is my ability to connect with others on a personal level. As a teacher, I’ve learned how to empower individuals by recognizing their unique qualities. I bring that same focus on personal growth and authenticity to my work as a model, encouraging others to embrace their uniqueness. I believe true beauty comes from within and from how we face challenges. In everything I do, I aim to inspire others to embrace personal growth and keep learning, no matter the obstacles. My own experiences with overcoming challenges allow me to connect with others on a deeper level, showing them that with resilience, they too can unlock their full potential.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
The most important quality a woman must have to be an international model is resilience. The fashion and modeling industry can be challenging, with setbacks and rejections along the way. Being resilient allows you to bounce back from these challenges, stay focused on your goals, and continue growing. In addition to resilience, confidence and the ability to stay true to oneself are crucial. It’s important to embrace your unique qualities, continue learning, and adapt to the ever-changing nature of the industry.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I am aware that as a finalist in Miss Universe Zeeland, and hopefully as Miss Universe Netherlands, I have the opportunity to be a role model for many young girls and teenagers who aspire to become models. It is incredibly important to me to use this platform not just for personal success, but to inspire others to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams. I hope to show them that resilience, hard work, and staying true to your values are key to success, no matter what path you choose. Being a positive influence and empowering others to unlock their potential is something I truly value.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time I modeled in front of a camera, I felt a bit uncomfortable, but I quickly embraced the challenge and began drawing strength from the experience. When it came to my first beauty pageant—Miss Universe Zeeland—I approached it with an open mind. I was excited to embark on this new adventure and didn’t let nerves hold me back. Instead, I embraced the opportunity to challenge myself, learn, and grow. The more I immersed myself in the journey, the more confident I became. Now, I feel empowered to be myself and inspire others along the way.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media has the power to connect and inspire people on a large scale. It allows me to share my values of lifelong learning and resilience, and to show that true beauty comes from within. I believe it’s an excellent tool to empower others and encourage them to pursue their dreams. However, it’s important to use social media responsibly, staying authentic and sharing messages that uplift and support others. It’s about being true to yourself and inspiring positive change.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I love connecting with my followers through social media by sharing my journey and insights, whether it’s about personal growth, resilience, or moments of joy. I enjoy engaging with my audience by responding to comments and messages, as it creates a sense of community and shared experience. My favorite platform is Instagram because it allows me to share both photos and stories, creating a more personal connection with my followers. I appreciate the opportunity to inspire and motivate others, while also learning from the diverse perspectives of my audience.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
To young people, I would say: Don’t let self-doubt stop you. Embrace the challenges ahead, and focus on building your confidence one step at a time. The courage to try new things will open doors to your fullest potential. Trust in your abilities and take one small step at a time—believe in your potential and keep learning. Every setback is an opportunity for growth, and resilience will carry you through.
To parents, I would encourage them to recognize and nurture their children’s talents. Supporting their dreams, even if it means stepping outside of your own comfort zone, can empower them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Encourage them to explore, make mistakes, and grow, and remind them that their journey is their own. Fostering a mindset of lifelong learning and resilience will help them thrive.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
Though I’m still early in my journey in the fashion and beauty pageant world, I’ve already learned the importance of resilience and staying true to who I am. The industry can be challenging, with a lot of external pressures, but I’ve realized that true beauty comes from embracing my authentic self. I’ve also learned that success isn’t about perfection—it’s about growth and learning from each experience. I’m excited to continue this journey and, through it, inspire others, especially young people, to embrace their uniqueness and believe in their own potential.
12.- Sacha, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
Modeling has been a new and exciting journey for me, and balancing it with my career as a teacher has been a challenge. However, Miss Universe aligns with my values of empowerment and leadership, which complement my passion for teaching. While it hasn’t always been easy, I’ve faced obstacles with resilience and an open mind. Staying true to my goals and values has helped me overcome challenges and grow both personally and professionally.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Yes, I did consider becoming an actress when I was younger. From the age of 9 to 12, I attended Youth Theatre School Zeeland, and I loved every moment of it! The experience allowed me to express myself creatively and helped build my confidence. While my path has led me to teaching and now pageantry, I still have a passion for the performing arts and enjoy exploring different forms of self-expression. The entertainment industry is fascinating to me, and I appreciate the power of storytelling and its ability to inspire others.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
The future of equality and empowerment should be inclusive of all individuals, regardless of how they identify. It’s not about being a man or a woman, but about recognizing and celebrating the unique talents and perspectives each person brings. Moving forward, we must listen to each other, communicate openly, and create a space where everyone feels valued and heard. By embracing each other’s differences and working together, we can build a world where every individual, regardless of their gender identity, has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we can create an environment where everyone, regardless of their gender identity or background, feels empowered to reach their fullest potential.
15.- Sacha, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation comes from overcoming challenges, especially my experience with depression, which taught me the importance of resilience. I’m passionate about inspiring others to embrace their struggles and grow stronger from them.
Every day, I’m grateful for my health, the support of loved ones, and the opportunity to inspire others through teaching and my Miss Universe journey. I aim to encourage people to keep pursuing their dreams, no matter the obstacles.
16.- Sacha, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
As mentioned earlier, I love traveling (check out my highlights on Instagram), and Thailand was one of my most memorable trips. It’s a perfect destination for a first-time round-trip adventure—beautiful culture, friendly people, breathtaking temples, and incredible food. I also had the chance to explore the jungle, which was an unforgettable experience. This summer, I’m looking forward to my first adventurous group trip to Colombia!
In the Netherlands, I recommend visiting Amsterdam, of course, but also be sure to check out the stunning beaches in Zeeland during the summer!
