In this exclusive Perumira interview, we take a closer look at Nicole Missios’ journey, her experiences in the industry, and the dreams that continue to drive her forward. Get ready to be inspired by one of Melbourne’s most captivating stars.
1. – Nicole, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I live and was born in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia. My hometown is very special. We have the best coffee, some pretty cool landmarks and the best sport events in the country. We are know for being one of the best livable cities and that makes me like living in my hometown so much.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
I love to sing, dance and act in my spare time. Growing up with autism dancing was especially my way of expressing myself and being able to keep fit and do something outside of school. Dancing is something which brings joy to me and is a place where I can escape the world and do what I love the most. I also love competing in pageants all the time. In my spare time I love going shopping and watching sport games live.
3.-International Model, Australia Galaxy Girl Winner 2024 – StarAmbassador 2023 Radiance Runway . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I decided to give pageants a go after seeing some TV shows growing up and seeing some advertisements about it. The feeling that I have achieving my dreams and living out my passion makes me feel so good and proud of myself. Growing up I never got to experience the things which I love doing and was always held back because of my Autism but now seeing myself achieve my dreams and aspirations makes younger me so proud.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Nicole in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
The distinctive, unique stamp for Nicole when competing in pageants is that I am the best version of myself and I only showcase who I truly am on and off the stage. I never try to be like anyone else and only grow as an individual competing in pageantry.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?
The main virtue would be to believe in themselves and go for their dreams. Without trying you will never know what the outcome will be unless you give everything a go.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
It is important for me to be self caring and positive for all of the young girls out there looking up to me. Being a role model means that I always showcase the best version of myself and always showcase who I am and never show any negativity around them.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time I ever modeled in front of a camera it was scary and the same goes for competing in pageants for the first time but now I gave learnt to love it and enjoy modeling and beauty pageants. I don’t let the nerves get the best of me and use my nerves and turn them into excitement instead.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media can be very powerful in todays society. It can be used as a tool for many pageant girls wanting to share their stories and advocate for their platforms. I use social media to advocate for neurodiversity awareness and it has become a tool which is useful for me to share my story across the galaxy.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I love being able to chat and communicate with followers through comments made on posts and through connecting with other pageant girls in other parts of the galaxy. I love using TikTok and Instagram and think they are the best social media platforms.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I always say to just do it and go for their dreams as if they don’t try they will never know. I would tell parents to believe in their kids dreams and allow them to follow them as if you hold them back they won’t achieve it and won’t be happy.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I have always learnt to be the best version of yourself from pageants and not let society determine who you become. If it wasn’t for pageants I would not be where I am today if I didn’t be the best version of myself.
12.- Nicole, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
I definitely had some obstacles in becoming a model and I am still learning to this day. I ensure to look at what I am modeling and ensure I am following the businesses guidelines and promoting their brand.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I have thought about becoming a actress and had studied acting in school and university but my heart lies in working within the sports entertainment industry and I do acting now just as an hobby.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I believe that all societies should treat women equally and allow women free rights. No women should ever be made to feel isolated, harmed or without a voice. In the future I would like to see a society where all women are treated fairly and no women is left to feel bad about who they are.
15.- Nicole, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is to become the best version of myself and to be grateful for everything that the universe has to offer to me. I always feel grateful for the food I receive and house I live under. I feel grateful for the education I have received and the health care system which Australia has.
16.- Nicole, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I do like to travel but I have only been interstate around Australia. I love visiting Perth and Brisbane in Australia and would highly recommend it to others. I would love to be able to final travel overseas for the first time and see so many different countries around the world.
