Welcome Marija Sekulić!!!
1.- Marija , you were born in Serbia ,What do you like about your hometown in Serbia? What are your hobbies?
I love Belgrade so much and I love spending time here. I like long walks around the city, I like to visit my favorite places and to spend the day in some of a nice restaurants. But now I spend most of the year on the Adriatic Sea. I really enjoy spending time on the beach. My hobbies are everything related to beauty, art, design and fashion.
2.- What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
The greatest joy brings me a beautiful day, filled with beautiful activities, beautiful summer weather for example, a beautiful trip, the beauty of the cities I visit, beauty and art in general, creativity, when I’m in the best mood then I smile the most. And I’m in the best mood when I’m dressed up, when I look beautiful, when I’m satisfied with my appearance, when I achieve some success and when I’m in the company of people I love.
3.- International Model , Beauty Queen, Miss Europe Continental Serbia, Miss FTV Serbia Diamond Award, Miss Business Lady, Miss Cappadocia Serbia, Miss World Woman Serbia, Miss Elite Global, When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I can’t describe that feeling to you. I feel fulfilled and accomplished. When you achieve such great success, it feels really great! Fulfilling my dreams is a big thing. I am very proud of that. I am very grateful that the little girl’s dreams have come true. I have to admit that of course it’s a nice feeling when people love you, praise you and admire you. I started modeling as a very young girl when I was only ten years old, and I went to the first pageant for Miss in my 20s.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Marija in each activity carried out as a person and model?
My recognizable style in every activity ,as a personality and also as a model is good grooming, manners, home upbringing, good character. I’m always the same, both when I’m walking around the city and when I’m on the cover page of a magazine. I want to be a good example
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
In order for a woman to be an international top model, in addition to natural beauty, she should have something specific only to her. But that something should be part of the character, so beautiful that it conquers everything in front of . A woman must believe in herself, be focused on her goals, invest a lot of effort and time, and work to achieve her goals. Persistent, consistent, patient, full of faith and self confidence. And what is most important is to do it with love and passion.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I am most aware of that. It’s a big responsibility and that’s why I think it’s very important that we as a models should be a good examples for the thousands of future women who watch us. I am very careful about that. I am always measured, and I am very careful about my behavior, my actions, the way I present myself on social networks, and what I say in public. Always being dignified is the most important thing.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
When I was behind the camera for the first time, I was a very small girl, I was only 10 years old when I appeared at the Fashion Show for the first time. It was an honor to open the show and I felt very proud. The first TV show about fashion that I hosted was when I was 11 years old. Then I felt very beautiful and I wanted to stay in this job forever. When I first appeared at the Miss pageant, I can’t describe the feeling of pride and happiness to represent my country as the most beautiful Serbian woman somewhere in the world. It is a big honor to be the most beautiful woman in Serbia.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media have a lot of power today. They dictate trends, they can bring you popularity, they can entertain you. It should just be some form of entertainment. Real life, work and achievements are outside of all social networks, so you should not spend too much time on there. Moderation in everything is my suggestion. Work on yourself, focus on yourself, invest your time in yourself, not in social media, unless it’s your job.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I like to interact with my followers so much. I am always grateful for all the support and love they give me. That means a lot to me. I am grateful to everyone. I am very pleased with their compliments, I am very pleased with the interaction and feedback I receive from them. They motivate me to be better, and remind me of my worth.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I would advise them that just one small step can lead them to the stars. Take one step at a time, go towards your goal, and if you doubt yourself, know that nobody is perfect and that you are much better than you think. What you have is a great gift, and you were given a gift in order to give it to the world. So share you talent with the whole world! If not now, when?Parents should support their children always, without exception! I tell parents to support their children because that’s the only way their children will be happy! And the greatest success of all is to be happy!
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
An important lesson I have learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants is that inner beauty is very important. That you should be unique. Unique always! That everyone is beautiful in their own way. That there are a thousand kinds of beauty all around us. That there is beauty in everything. That beauty is in character, that beauty is in kindness towards others, in respect for others. That beauty is in the love you show others. That inner beauty is much more important than outer beauty. That we should appreciate ourselves with all our faults and virtues.
12.- Marija, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
It’s generally nice and easy for me to do what I like. There were obstacles, and I was looking for balance. I balanced so that I was comfortable, that I was not too busy, that I had time for family and friends. It’s important to me that I’m happy. When you work as a model you travel a lot. I always chose to have someone from my family, from my close environment, on those trips. That’s how I overcame the obstacle of being far from home alone over the years.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Of course! I have already tried myself as an actress. I played a secondary role in the series Jelena. It was a wonderful experience. I played the role of a model. I love acting. Besides fashion, it is my great passion and I would like to continue in that direction.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
The role of women is very important. I think that in this days and age it is quite normal to be equal. I do not support any kind of abuse. No one should suffer that. A woman should be valued and respected. Every woman deserves that. People have to develop awareness about it. These are basic human rights. There is no discussion about that.
15.- Marija, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation are goals and success. This is a very complex to answer, and I am grateful for everything. I am grateful for so many things, for so many chances, for wonderful experiences, for the opportunity to represent my country in the best way, for the opportunity to live and create a better world, to create and share love. I am grateful for all the wonderful moments spent with dear people, I am grateful when I see or feel beauty and art in any form, for people who love and support me, for wonderful trips, for all the opportunities that modern times offer us, for evenings spent with music, for all the successes I have achieved, for every day, for the roads that led me to the goals.
16.- Marija Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Serbia?
I love to travel very much! I have visited many European countries, such as Italy, France, Spain, Monaco, Germany, England, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Hungary, Montenegro, as well as many Asian countries such as Thailand, Hong Kong, China and the Chinese Sania Islands, Vietnam. I would like to visit the countries of North and South America , Florida, New York, Brazil , Dominican Republic and your country and that is next on my list. At the moment, the next destination is Dubai, and the pageant that will be held there. There are so many places in Serbia that I recommend you visit, firstly Belgrade, our beautiful city, and then the mountains Zlatibor and Kopaonik.
17.- You and me (Jaime William) are going to play ping pong, I will tell you one word and you will answer with another word that comes to your mind.
