That Maracaibo spirit, marked by human warmth, friendliness and optimism, remains a fundamental part of her identity and shows in every step of her career.
Her path in the modeling world began at 17 years old, when she joined a well-known arts training academy in her hometown. That period was filled with learning, discipline and dreams that, although put on hold at one point to start her family, never left her heart.
Years later, with a more mature outlook and the same undiminished passion, she decided to take up that dream again and show that beauty is also built with experience, determination and faith. That is how she won the title of Reina Latina Embajadora 2025, cementing a chapter that now inspires many women.
Johsy Ávila radiates elegance, positive energy and leadership, proudly carrying her story of resilience onto the international stage.

1.- What have you always loved about the city where you were born and raised? What are those lifelong hobbies that Johsy still keeps up and can’t give up? What makes you smile or brings you great joy?
I’m Johsy Ávila, a Venezuelan woman born in Maracaibo, Zulia State, in “The Land of the Beloved Sun.”
My city is one of the most beautiful in my country, but what defines us most is that we are kind, funny and cheerful people, always with a smile on our faces. We have endless strengths, and wherever we go, people recognize us even by the way we speak.
I had a happy childhood. Even though I may have gone through some not-so-good situations, I always grew up surrounded by a lot of love. I was a very fortunate girl, and I come from a big family.
My childhood was full of games and mischief with my cousins. I have so many stories to tell that I could write a book.
One of my favorite pastimes is going to the beach. I’m fascinated by the sea, the sand, the air I breathe.
I love enjoying the simple things in life: sipping a delicious coffee, having a good conversation with someone, watching a beautiful sunrise and sunset, listening to music, taking in the landscapes nature gives us. There are so many things that fill me with satisfaction and joy.
It’s very easy to make me smile: seeing my family enjoy themselves, seeing my children’s achievements, seeing my nieces, playing all kinds of games. Endless things make me happy.
I have a degree in Business Administration. I love public relations. I don’t like conflict; I’m always seeking harmony, balance and everyone’s well-being.
2.- International Model – Beauty Queen, Reina Latina Embajadora 2025. How did Johsy decide to take her first steps in the world of modeling and pageantry? How does it feel to do what you love, what you are passionate about? Is it easy?
I got into the world of modeling at the age of 17 at a very well-known academy in my city of Maracaibo, Gero Producciones. They were very beautiful moments, unforgettable experiences, full of lessons.
Since I was little, I had the joy of taking part in several beauty contests, and in some of them I was crowned queen. But one of the most important stories of my life was taking part in the casting for the renowned Feria Internacional de la Chinita, where I went through several selection rounds and ended up in a very small group of girls. But on the final night of the casting, I wasn’t selected.
At that moment I felt very sad, because it was one of my big dreams: to take part in such an important pageant in my city. The following year I made the decision to start a family and I got married. A month before my wedding, the academy called me again to take part, but at that moment I decided to start my family and leave that dream behind.
As time went by, I thought that being a beauty queen again was a thing of the past, until one day I saw a new opportunity to do something I was so passionate about. At the same time, I was held back by knowing that I was no longer that very young woman who had so many dreams as a teenager, but an adult, more mature woman, with the same conviction and the same desire to do what I had longed for so much.
One day I started thinking and asking God whether this was the opportunity I had asked Him for so many times in my moments of sadness, in those times of anguish that come over you as a person, when you ask yourself what you really want, and I asked Him to give me a sign.
It was then that I decided to make it a priority to do what I loved so much, what I had always been passionate about, and I decided to enter the Nuestra Reina Latina contest, proudly carrying the crown as Reina Embajadora Latina 2025.
Today, more than ever, I am certain that the dream, the hope I had as a teenager was paused, but not forgotten.

3.- Johsy, are you aware that your growth as a person, model and beauty queen is turning you, day by day, into an influencer, an opinion leader, especially for the younger ones? How do you handle that? How do you like to interact with the followers who join you? What is your favorite social network?
My favorite social network is Instagram. I say it’s my personal album; there I try to post beautiful photos that inspire me every day to give the best of myself as a person.
My audience is very varied, an exemplary community. I always try to set a good example on my platform, and I’ve always had great support from my followers.
4.- What do you think is Johsy’s distinctive, unique hallmark in everything she does as a person and as a model?
My hallmark is my personality. I’m known for being a kind person who always tries to have a smile for everything.
When I set out to do something, I always try to give my best and be an example for many people that when you set your mind to it, you can always achieve it, as long as you do it with a lot of responsibility, perseverance and professional ethics.

5.- What values, care routines and habits are important to have or adopt in order to be a model?
I’m a woman of many values, and the ones that define me most are empathy, responsibility, friendship, honesty, respect and love.
I always have a positive attitude toward life. For me, that has been the fundamental key to reaching my goals and all my projects.
My path hasn’t been easy, but I always have the conviction that God is on my side, and He has always been my guide in achieving all my goals.
6.- How did you feel the first time you modeled in front of a photo camera and a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
It’s a very beautiful feeling, but I was a little afraid, thinking we weren’t doing it right; now that it’s anchored in teamwork, it turns out spectacular.
The times I’ve competed independently, whatever the scale of the event, you feel endless emotions that make you feel so good about yourself that there are no words to describe that feeling.
Without a doubt, one of the best experiences.

7.- Johsy, would you like to venture into the entertainment industry at some point in your life, such as TV or radio, or perhaps something more acting-oriented, like film or theater? Have you always been outgoing?
Of course!! I would love to venture into the world of television. Any project or career that leads to personal and professional growth would be a real pleasure for me.
I’ve always been a little outgoing
8.- Johsy, what do you think of the power of social media and new technologies?
Today’s technology is a great tool for our everyday lives, but it must be handled with great caution. Likewise, social media can help boost your professional career, but it’s worth stressing that you have to be very careful about the content you upload to your platforms, because it can lead to all kinds of situations that sometimes work in your favor or against you.
9.- What would you say to parents who don’t support their children’s talent? And what advice would you give to young people who have the talent and the ability but don’t dare to take the next step?
As parents, we always look out for our children’s well-being, and we should be willing to support them in everything. Some of us parents sometimes don’t understand what they want and find it hard to accept what they think, but they, as young people, need to know that every life project has a path that often has to curve along the way to reach the goal, and we, as parents, will always be there to support them and guide them to make the best decisions.
To conclude, I tell all those young people not to be afraid to fulfill their dreams, that life is full of opportunities, however small they may be, and to do things with love and always with the best attitude, so you’ll see that you will always get a satisfying result.

10.- What lesson does this whole experience in a world full of glamour, designs and beauty leave you with each day, as a person and as a human being?
Beauty is a very profound word, because it’s not just having a pretty face; it’s being a complete woman, having a wealth of virtues and strengths. We are capable of achieving our most longed-for goals.
For us there are no limits; we are versatile, and we have qualities that some of us know how to bring out in different ways. That’s why every day we learn new things that help our personal growth.
11.- What is your opinion on the empowerment of women in recent years, reaching top positions all over the world? How can this situation be improved?
We women are taking on a stronger role in society every day. We have shown that we can be mothers, workers and entrepreneurs. We have endless virtues and strengths that help us grow and keep trusting in ourselves that we can go very far, always hand in hand with our creator, Jesus Christ.
For women there are no limits; our limit is the sky.

12.- Johsy, what motivates you and why do you feel grateful every day?
My greatest motivation is my family. Every day I thank God for everything He has given me in life. I think that at my age I’ve been through countless situations that have helped my personal and professional growth and made me stronger every day.
I’m grateful for every tear I’ve shed, because they have made me stronger. I’m grateful to every person I’ve met who, in some way, left something positive or negative in my life.
I’m grateful to all those people who have always believed in me, who always saw my abilities, my qualities, my strengths, my weaknesses and my virtues.
I’m grateful to those people who at some point closed a door on me, because that made more doors open for me.
Thank you all.
13.- Do you like to travel? Which countries have you already visited? Which other countries would you like to see, and which places do you recommend visiting in Venezuela, your home country?
I love to travel. I’ve been fortunate to visit several countries, such as Colombia, Aruba, Curaçao, the Dominican Republic and the United States, and I’ve had the privilege of traveling through much of my country, Venezuela 🇻🇪
My country is beautiful. We have everything to visit and there are marvelous places, but what defines us most is the kindness of our people.
I had the privilege of visiting many states, but the ones I loved most, would recommend visiting, and that bring back my most beautiful memories are Mérida State and Los Andes. Strolling through the Páramo and traveling along the Andean mountain range is one of the most beautiful landscapes you can see in the region.
Another spectacular state is Falcón. Seeing the Médanos de Coro is like seeing a gorgeous desert. And when it comes to our coasts, we have spectacular beaches with crystal-clear waters and beautiful corals, but the feeling of walking along our shores, looking at the water, stepping on the white sand, watching the sunrises and sunsets, feeling the breeze touch your face, is a feeling that words can’t describe.
Morrocoy and Mochima National Parks are among the most beautiful, and when it comes to Margarita Island, it’s my favorite. Visiting its cathedral, its streets, its bays, especially the bay of Juan Griego, where I have my most beautiful memories, which fill me with a lot of nostalgia.
My country is beautiful, she is beautiful. I wasn’t fortunate enough to travel all of her. I hope that one day I can return and visit the tourist spots I still haven’t seen, and give a hug to all my family and friends who keep giving their all in my country.
