With her magnetic presence, undeniable talent, and inspiring outlook, Pratiba Kay – The Miss Globe Malaysia 2025 is not just a beauty queen, but a visionary woman leaving her mark on the world.

  1. Pratiba, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?

I was born and raised in Johor, located in the southern part of Malaysia. One of the things I truly admire about my hometown is the strong sense of unity among people of different races. While we may have our disagreements from time to time, we always come together and support each other when it really matters. This spirit of togetherness makes Johor a special place for me.

  1. What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?

I enjoy reading books, playing the piano, painting, really anything and everything related to arts and music. Spending quality time with my loved ones, whether it’s my family or close friends, also brings me a lot of joy. Speaking of that, I volunteer as a teacher at an orphanage, and every week when it’s my turn to spend time with the children, I genuinely enjoy it. Over time, I’ve come to realize how much I love being around kids.

  1. International Model, Miss Globe Malaysia 2025  . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

I’ve always been the tallest girl in the crowd growing up. Although I was often ridiculed for it during my younger years, that changed as I got older when people began suggesting that I try modelling. That sparked my interest, and I began learning more about the industry, eventually starting to freelance as a model.

In my household, we grew up watching beauty pageants like Miss World and Miss Universe. What started as daydreams of being a pageant queen soon turned into a serious thought: Why not make it a reality? My interest in pageantry deepened when I discovered that it’s not just about beauty, but also about giving back, being involved in charitable causes and helping the community.

That part truly resonated with me, as volunteering has always been something I’ve enjoyed. I take part in community service whenever I can, supporting causes that make a positive impact.

Looking back on everything I’ve experienced so far, I’m proud of myself for not giving up even during the times I felt like quitting when things got tough. I pushed through until I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. While I know I haven’t achieved all of my dreams yet, I also know this is just the beginning. If my journey can inspire even one person who’s struggling to chase their own dreams, then I’ll feel truly grateful.

  1. What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Pratiba in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?

I would say that what sets me apart is doing everything with genuine passion and authenticity. I never feel like I have to force myself into any of the activities I’m involved in whether as a beauty queen or a model because I truly enjoy them, no matter how demanding my schedule gets. I don’t feel the need to pretend or put on a facade. I enjoy being myself and I truly appreciate that people in this industry accept me for who I am.

  1. Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?

Work hard to reach where you want to be, no matter how tiring or exhausting the journey may get. Success takes time and it’s easy to look at others and think, “They had it easy.” But the truth is, most people have put in a lot of effort to get where they are. So don’t stop. Stay focused, keep pushing forward and continue putting in the work until you get the job or achieve your goal.

  1. Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

I hope more girls will hear my story and feel inspired to pursue their own dreams without giving up. I would be honoured to be seen as a role model, someone who shares her journey openly to encourage others to reach their full potential. My story wasn’t one of instant success. I wasn’t favoured by many at first and I didn’t make it into the spotlight right away. But through continuous effort and persistence, I eventually made my presence known.

  1. What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

The first time I modelled in front of a camera, I felt shy and self-conscious. It felt like everyone around me was watching and judging, and I doubted whether I was doing a good job as after all, it was my first time. But over time, I realized that most people aren’t focused on you the way you think. You just have to be yourself. Eventually, you improve and grow. No one starts off perfect.

My first experience at a beauty pageant was completely different. I felt an immediate sense of belonging and knew I had made the right choice. Although it was challenging and I wasn’t one of the initial favorites, I stayed determined and refused to give up.

  1. What do you think about the power of social media today?

Social media is definitely a double-edged sword. On one hand, it offers incredible opportunities as it allows talents to be recognized globally, provides a platform for self-expression and helps connect like-minded individuals from all over the world.

However, on the flip side, it can also be harmful if used irresponsibly. It can lead to unrealistic comparisons, online bullying and negative mental health effects, especially when people begin to tie their self-worth to likes, comments, or followers.

That’s why it’s important to use social media mindfully by understanding its power, but also setting healthy boundaries and staying grounded in real life. Like any tool, it can either build or break, depending on how it’s used.

  1. How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

You can mostly find me on Instagram (@k.pretty_bar). Although I have a Facebook account, I mainly use it to watch videos during my breaks. I also created a TikTok account at the start of my pageantry journey to stay relevant, but I’ve found it challenging to stay active there.

I truly value every one of my followers. None of their kind messages or comments go unnoticed as I make it a point to respond to each and every one. Without their support, I wouldn’t be where I am today and for that, I’m genuinely grateful.

  1. What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

It can be scary not knowing what the future holds, wondering if taking that first step is worth it, or doubting whether we’ll ever reach our goals. But the secret to success is simply taking that first step. Trust me, every moment you delay starting, your dreams are delayed too. Once you have the courage to take that first step, the universe begins to guide you toward where you need to be.

I hesitated for years before finally having no choice but to move forward. Now, I’m proud to say I’m on the right path, steadily working toward my dreams.

At first, my parents weren’t very supportive as they were worried that my choices might lead me down the wrong path. But through my persistence, I was able to gain their trust. Today, their support is undeniably one of the biggest reasons for my success. I hope more parents recognize the power their encouragement holds and understand that giving their children the freedom to explore their talents can truly transform their lives for the better.

  1. What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

No matter how much the industry changes, at the end of the day, it always comes down to one essential truth: being genuine and true to yourself. Trends, standards and expectations may shift, but authenticity never goes out of style. Staying true to who you are builds trust, creates meaningful connections and sets you apart in any field. It’s the foundation for lasting success and personal fulfillment, no matter what challenges arise.

  1. Pratiba, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

Being a model hasn’t always been easy for me. I would say it’s still very much a learning process, as I’ve faced many obstacles along the way such as rejections based on skin color, race and other factors. Over the years, however, I’ve learned to handle these challenges with grace and resilience. I continue to grow by seeking advice and tips from experienced models, building my network and learning that rejections are redirections.

  1. Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

I had a few acting gigs when I was younger, but back then, I did it more to support myself financially than out of a true passion for acting. Over the years, however, I found myself admiring truly well-acted roles and realized that I would love to explore the industry further. I’ve come to appreciate that acting is an art form in its own right and bringing a fictional character to life is a skill not everyone possesses.

  1. Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

Women worldwide have made great progress, but in some societies, abuse and inequality still exist. I believe the future role of women in these societies will improve through education, empowerment and changing cultural attitudes. As women gain more opportunities, they will become stronger advocates for their rights and inspire positive change. Although progress may be gradual, I’m optimistic that women everywhere will continue moving toward equality and greater roles in their communities.

  1. Pratiba, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

My motivations come from the goals I’ve set for myself throughout my life. I constantly remind myself that I don’t want to wake up one day with regrets about not fulfilling my dreams. That drives me to keep pushing forward every single day. I’m grateful for my health, my loved ones and the opportunities that come my way. Even on difficult days, I try to focus on these blessings to stay positive and motivated.

  1. Pratiba, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?

I wouldn’t describe myself as a travelholic, but I do love the feeling I get when I explore different parts of the world or even my own country. I enjoy learning something new, whether it’s about culture, art or heritage. So far, I’ve traveled to Batam and Bali in Indonesia, Krabi in Thailand, Gold Coast in Australia, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Hong Kong. Since I work in Singapore, I’m quite familiar with the Lion City as well. Each city offers a unique experience and I always find myself reluctant to leave.

I’m especially excited about my upcoming trip to Albania this October, where the Miss Globe finals will be held. I’ve heard wonderful things about the country and I can’t wait to experience it firsthand.

Although I haven’t visited all states in my own country, one of my favorites is Melaka, known for its rich art and heritage. I’ve also heard that Sabah is incredibly beautiful and I’m looking forward to visiting there soon.
