1.- Jacey, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I was born in Sittard, a city in the beautiful south of the country. This is in the province of Limburg, the country’s well-known beautiful hilly region.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
I love to go to the gym and work out. Because it gives me peace on my mind. I also love going to work. I work at Hunkemoller as a bra Expert & Fashionista. I love my work, because you subconsciously help many costumers gain a little more confidence. and to know that you were able to be part of that little extra confidence is an incredibly nice feeling.
3.- International Model – Miss Universe Limburg 2025 Finalist . When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
When I 18 years old, I started doing some photo shoots here and there. After 1 year of photo shoots, I wished for something new and that’s when it started for me in the beauty pageant world. My first beauty pageant was Miss Beauty of Limburg (regional preliminary round of Miss Beauty of The Netherlands). Now I get to participate in my 3rd beauty pageant as a finalist for Miss Universe Limburg (regional preliminary round of Miss Universe Netherlands).
When I look at where I came from and what I have achieved so far, I am super proud of myself. Yet, I still feel some performance pressure, but I think it’s kind of part of it. It’s no surprise that I want to make the people around me and the people who look up to me proud.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Jacey in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
My distinctive, unique stamp is strength and perseverance. I have a good example of this; at one of the finals of a beauty pageant in the past, I fell on stage during the opening dance, right in front of the judges…. It was quite a nasty fall, but I got up directly and carried on as if nothing had happened. And that’s why strength and perseverance are my unique stamps, because it doesn’t matter how many times you fall, it’s about how you deal with it.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
Self-confidence, because self-confidence is the key to success. My mother taught me this since I was little. And I have always carried it with me, so I hope I can pass this on to others.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
It gives me a very good feeling to know that there are so many girls and teenagers who look up to me or come to me for advice. It gives me a sense of responsibility. I am even responsible for the participation of one of the finalists of Miss Beauty of Limburg. She also came to me for advice, because she did not know where to start and is now a real miss.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
To be honest, my first photoshoot felt really awkward, especially at the beginning. Because honestly I didn’t know what I was doing, I improvised a lot. Eventually I started to feel more and more confident and from that moment on it went smoother and smoother.
And on my very first beauty pageant final I felt so nervous, because the dress rehearsal didn’t go so well for me. I almost fell and I was afraid it would happen again during the final. But my dear fellow finalists told me «a bad dress rehearsal is a good final». That gave me the strength to continue and show the best of myself. I shone on that stage. Despite the nerves, I enjoyed it immensely and that was the most important thing for me.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media has a lot of influence, especially on young people. more than 40% of young people feel insecure because of the image that is created on social media. and almost half of women in the Netherlands feel insecure if they do not wear make-up. no less than 16% of the Dutch population finds a »naked face» unattractive. and that is 16% too much. that is why I want to tell everyone that nobody is perfect. all your imperfections, is what makes you perfect the way you are.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I don’t have a favourite social media, but I do enjoy interacting with my followers on Instagram through, for example, a Poll or a Q&A on my Instagram story.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I would not talk to the parents of these children, but to the child itself. and what I would say is; »look at your younger self, make him/her proud and become the person that your younger self will look up to.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
Confidence is key and don’t be afraid to be different from others. Not everyone is the same and that’s the beauty of this world. Every person has something that makes them unique and perfect in their own way
12.- Jacey, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
There were quite a few obstacles, but the biggest obstacle for me is having tattoos. within the modeling and beauty pageant world it is difficult, because they can still be quite old-fashioned. to be completely honest, I looked through the old-fashioned tradition and I registered with various modeling agencies. Of course I was not accepted as a model everywhere, but with success there were a number of modeling agencies that wanted to start a collaboration. Eventually I started doing the same with beauty pageants. I have noticed that over the years, there are more and more misses with a tattoo here and there. I think it is nice to see that this is starting to change. Because I know for 100% sure that there are enough other girls who run into the same problem as I do.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
I have thought about doing something in the entertainment industry, but I have never delved further into it because other things have come my way that are more of a priority at the moment.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
Every person has the right to equal treatment, regardless of their origin, culture or religion. And that is why all my fellow finalists and I are committed to the charity Simavi. It is a charity that deals with water projects in Asia and Africa, because there are women and girls in these countries who do not receive equal treatment and are at risk of sextortion on a daily basis.
15.- Jacey, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is the younger me. I would do anything to become the woman the younger me looked up to. and I would do anything to make that little girl proud.
I am grateful for my mother. She has never had it easy, but despite that, she has always tried her best to make me happy and bring out the best in me. She has been declared chronically ill since April 2024 and still she tries her best for me and my sister.
16.- Jacey, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I love travelling immensely and exploring the world. I haven’t been to many different countries yet, but there are still plenty on my list. i have already been to Greece, Spain and Brazil. and I would go back there in a heartbeat.
some of the places I would really like to go to include South-Africa, Mexico, Cyprus and Lapland.
And of course there are also plenty of nice places to visit in Nederland; Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven and Maastricht are bigger cities. and Valkenburg (Limburg) is a wonderful place during the Christmas season. Valkenburg even has one of the nicest Christmas markets in all of Europe.
