1. Merry Jane, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. What do you like about your hometown?
I was born and raised in Groningen, a beautiful city in the Netherlands known for its vibrant student life, historic buildings, and artistic culture. What I love most about my hometown is its energy! there’s always something happening.
2. What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
In my free time, I love singing, and you can often find me in vintage stores searching for beautiful clothing pieces. What makes me laugh the most are moments with close friends and family, they always know how to brighten my day.
3. International Model – Miss Beauty of Groningen 2025 Finalist. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions, and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I started when I was 16 and was scouted by Miss Beauty of Groningen. From there, I entered my first beauty pageant to challenge myself and build confidence. Achieving my dreams has been incredibly rewarding; it’s a mix of gratitude and pride knowing I can inspire others while doing what I love.
4. What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Merry Jane in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
My unique stamp is authenticity and kindness. I always strive to be genuine in everything I do, whether it’s modeling or connecting with others. I believe that being relatable and showing your true self makes a lasting impact.
5. What is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an international model?
The key virtue is resilience. The modeling world can be tough, so having the strength to stay focused and confident while embracing rejection as part of the journey is crucial.
6. Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
Yes, I am aware, and it’s an honor. I take it very seriously because I want to be a positive role model. It’s important to me that young girls see that they can achieve their dreams with hard work, confidence, and self-love.
7. What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
The first time I modeled in front of a camera, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. Over time, it became natural, and I learned to enjoy the process. My first beauty pageant was overwhelming but exhilarating; it pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me the importance of self-belief.
8. What do you think about the power of social media today?
Social media is incredibly powerful. It has transformed how we connect, share, and inspire. While it has its challenges, like maintaining authenticity, it’s a fantastic platform for promoting positive messages and reaching a global audience.
9. How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? What’s your favorite social media?
I love interacting with my followers through Q&A sessions, instagram stories and direct messages. My favorite platform is Instagram because it allows me to share visual content, engage with people, and showcase my work creatively.
10. What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
To young people: Believe in yourself and take small steps toward your dreams. Fear is natural, but growth comes from pushing past it. To parents: Support your children’s passions. Even if their path seems unconventional, encouragement can make all the difference in their confidence and success.
11. What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
I’ve learned that confidence and hard work are essential. It’s also taught me to handle criticism constructively and embrace my individuality. Every experience, good or bad, is an opportunity to grow.
12. Merry Jane, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?
It hasn’t always been easy. I’ve faced rejections and moments of self-doubt. I overcame these by staying focused on my goals, surrounding myself with supportive people, and constantly working on my skills.
13. Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Yes, I’ve thought about acting, and I find the entertainment industry fascinating. It’s a platform where creativity shines, and I’d love to explore that side of my personality one day.
14. Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I believe women are the driving force behind progress in any society. As education and awareness grow, I’m hopeful that more women will rise to leadership positions and challenge outdated norms. Empowering women is the key to creating a fairer world.
15. Merry Jane, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation comes from my dreams and the desire to make a difference in people’s lives. I’m grateful for my family, health, and the opportunities I’ve had to pursue my passions.
16. Merry Jane, do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
Yes, I love traveling! I’ve visited spain and Türkiye. I’d love to explore Japan and South Africa in the future. From my country, I recommend visiting Amsterdam, the Keukenhof gardens during spring, and the Wadden Sea for its unique beauty.
