In this exclusive Perumira Global Talent interview, we explore Nikia’s journey through the world of pageantry and modeling, her love for her Australian roots, and her aspirations for the future. 1. – Nikia, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?
I am from the beautiful town of Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Broome is best known for its stunning beaches. One thing I truly love about Broome is being able to go to the beach every afternoon for a swim while walking the dogs. The main thing I love about Broome is the beauty of the landscape and how quickly it transforms from bushland to a stunning white sand beach.
2.- What are your hobbies? what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?
Apart from spending much of my free time volunteering in the community and competing in pageants, I also spend a lot of time outdoors with my Welsh Cob pony, Spirit. Last year was a challenging one with my previous horse, Perry—I went through a broken nose and a torn bicep. Spirit has really helped me rediscover the joy in my sport and appreciate the small moments in life.
3.- International Model, National Finalist for Miss Galaxy Australia 2025. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?
I took my first steps into pageantry in 2015 when I applied to be a national finalist for Australia Teen Queen. I had been modeling and acting for two years prior, so I was already familiar with the industry. When I strive to achieve my dreams, the main feeling I experience is happiness. My primary reason for entering pageants was to make friendships that would last a lifetime, and I am incredibly grateful to have achieved this. I am surrounded by the most wonderful people, and I’m thankful every day for the journey I am on.
I believe that as an influential woman, the main goal is to bring happiness to those around us and strive to become better versions of ourselves. In doing so, we can show others that anything is possible.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Nikia in each activity carried out as a beauty queen and model?
What makes me unique as a queen is that I am the ‘hype girl’ everyone didn’t know they needed. My energy lights up any room, and I love bringing smiles and positivity to those around me. Whether it’s a challenging moment or a celebration, I bring positive energy that lifts others up and encourages them to shine their brightest.
5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?
I believe the main virtue a queen should have is transcendence. A transcendent queen speaks openly about why she never loses hope in humanity’s potential. She appreciates nature in all its perfection and lives according to her intended purpose. This sense of transcendence will drive a queen to have a meaningful purpose throughout her reign.
6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
I believe it is very important to be a good role model for the younger generation and to inspire others to achieve their dreams. I aim to do this by sharing a diverse range of content on my Instagram, showing the world that life isn’t perfect, but that we can make the most of what we have.
7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
At first, I was very nervous, as anyone would be—but I was also excited! I’ve always had a natural urge to be on camera or on stage. I get such an adrenaline rush when I’m on stage, and I love that feeling.
8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I think social media has an extremely powerful influence over people nowadays. From counting likes and comments on each post to keeping up with the latest trends, it can all become quite intense and even negative if you let it.
However, it’s also a great way to connect with people and showcase the positive impact I have on my community. This is why I believe I would make an amazing role model and a queen. I use my social media as a tool to promote my platform, Heart Health, and to educate people on the importance of staying active and getting their heart checked. Things can happen when you least expect it.
9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?
I love interacting with my followers on social media by commenting on their posts or liking their stories. I’m also planning to create more interactive posts to engage with my audience even more.
10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
Just do it, you are better off trying and failing the failing without even trying. Who knows once you give it a go you likely will love it.
11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?
Pageantry has taught me to find the silver lining in every setback, turning challenges into motivation to grow and come back even stronger. This perspective doesn’t just apply to my pageant journey; it’s something I carry into my everyday life. Embracing resilience and optimism, I strive to transform every letdown into a stepping stone towards a brighter, more determined future.
12.- Nikia, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles?How did you overcome obstacles?
Honestly, I’ve found modeling to be both easy and enjoyable, and I believe that’s thanks to my resilient mindset. As I mentioned, I’m someone who can turn any situation—good or challenging—into a positive one. This approach has allowed me to embrace every moment with ease and enthusiasm, bringing my best self to every shoot and experience. Modeling has become a natural extension of my optimism and joy for life.
13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Growing up, my biggest dream was to be a movie star. I spent my childhood in acting classes, performing in shows, and creating skits, which sparked a love for the spotlight and storytelling. Those experiences not only built my confidence but also taught me the joy of connecting with audiences. While my path has taken me towards modeling and pageants, that passion for performance and bringing joy to others has stayed with me and continues to drive me.
14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I believe that women should have the freedom and power to pursue whatever they want, whenever they choose. While the world has made strides toward gender equality, there’s still more work to be done to ensure all women have equal opportunities and support. I’m passionate about advocating for a future where every woman can chase her dreams without barriers or limitations.
15.- Nikia, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My biggest motivation is my partner. He’s my driving force, always encouraging me to take that next step and fully pursue my dreams. His unwavering support and belief in me give me strength, and he’s truly my biggest cheerleader. Having someone by my side who pushes me to be my best self makes all the difference in my journey.
16.- Nikia, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I absolutely love traveling! I’ve already explored over six countries, with a trip to Samoa planned for next year. My all-time favorite destination has to be Japan—I can’t recommend it enough! The rich culture and delicious food make it an unforgettable experience. For me, travel is a way to learn, grow, and enjoy the diversity of our world.
17.- You and me (Jaime William) are going to play ping pong, I will tell you one word and you will answer with another word that comes to your mind.
