It is a joy and an honor to introduce, from Minas, Lavalleja – Uruguay, Luna Miraballes – Teen Model – Beauty Queen, Princesa Embajadora Uruguay Global Talent (Ambassador Princess), Miss Lavalleja, Miss Teen Carnaval Belleza Mundial in Ecuador, Barbie Internacional, who also has studies in Textile Design.
Luna has granted me a fantastic interview in which I get to know not just a promise of international fashion: Luna is already a reality, an established model and a world-class beauty queen, a Uruguayan representative and sovereign. I’m sure we will see her on top runways around the world.
Welcome, Luna Miraballes!!!

1.- Luna, thank you so much for accepting our invitation. A native of Uruguay, what have you always loved about the city where you were born and raised? What are the lifelong hobbies that Luna still practices and can’t give up? What makes you smile or brings you great joy?
Hi, how are you all? I love the solidarity of the people, as well as its tourist spots and its beautiful hills.
My hobby is the runway. It started as a pastime and now I love to walk. I take it very seriously and it’s something I can’t give up
Children make me smile. I have a great affinity with the little ones, and that makes me very happy.
2.- Teen Model – Beauty Queen, Princesa Embajadora Uruguay Global Talent, Miss Lavalleja, Miss Teen Carnaval Belleza Mundial in Ecuador, Barbie Internacional, along with studies in Textile Design How did Luna decide to take her first steps in the world of modeling and pageants? How does it feel to do what you love, what you’re passionate about? Is it easy?
Mom signed me up for a casting when I was 9 years old. They were looking for models to set up a school in Lavalleja, where I live. I didn’t win anything, ha, but it motivated me to pursue the world of modeling
I love walking the runway. When I step onto one, I transform. It’s my happy place
It’s not easy at all. On every runway I run into stones in the road, but that’s good because it pushes me to move forward and keep learning.

3.- Luna you are aware of your growth as a person, model and beauty queen. Will this turn you, day by day, into an influencer, an opinion leader, especially for the youngest? How do you handle this? How do you like to interact with the followers who join you? What is your favorite social network?
Yes, I’ve noticed very significant growth, both personally and professionally. But as a beauty queen, I want to use my crowns to benefit my social projects. More than being an influence, I want people to learn about my social work, and for both young and old to take it as an example
I handle it with the support of the people and Mom’s help .
Mom supervises everything. I talk with my followers, and we exchange opinions. My social network is “Instagram,” and Mom manages Facebook.
4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique trademark of Luna in every activity she does as a person and as a model?
The first thing I do when I arrive somewhere is interact with the people and approach the children, and if the activity is for them, I’m the entertainer myself, ha.
5.- What values, care and habits are important to have or adopt in order to be a model?
Mom always tells me I have to be honest, humble, and never think I’m better than anyone . That I have to help my fellow models, and if someone needs something, help them. That if God gave me talent, it’s not to put out other people’s light. And to be very responsible, careful and mindful of habits. Take care of my image in general. Hygiene, body, skin, face.
Eating habits: “I’m vegetarian”

6.- How did you feel the first time you modeled in front of a photo camera and a video camera? What did you feel the first time you competed in a beauty pageant?
The first time I modeled was at the invitation of a Peruvian children’s clothing designer, “Pilar Medina,” who saw me in a class at the modeling school where I graduated. The first time I felt nervous and anxious. And the first time in a beauty pageant, nervous but happy.
The first time I walked the runway, I carried my city’s flag, and today it is my good luck charm. My flag is always in my suitcase, so I never forget where I come from❤️.
7.- Luna , would you like to venture, at some stage of your life, into the entertainment industry, such as TV, radio, or perhaps more toward acting, film, theater? Have you always been outgoing?
I’d like to try my hand at film, “I’m very dramatic” ha . Yes, I’ve always been very outgoing and friendly. I greet and talk to everyone .
8.- Luna what do you think about the power of social media and new technologies?
I think technology is very good, but social media has its pros and cons. Social media can be very dangerous if it isn’t used with respect, and if it’s used correctly it can be very beneficial, as in my case, where I use it to benefit my social projects.

9.- What would you say to parents who don’t support their children’s talent? And what advice would you give to young people who have talent and ability but don’t dare to take the next step?
I’m lucky that my mom supports me in everything . But I would tell parents who don’t to support their children, whether they have talent or not . What matters is feeling that the most important person is cheering you on. I don’t always win, but it makes me happy to know that Mom is waiting for me with a hug..
10.- What lesson does this whole experience in a world full of glamour, designs and beauty leave you each day, as a person, as a human being?
This world of glamour has taught me that you can’t trust anyone, that not everyone is honest, and that cronyism prevails over professional ethics. Sadly, but it’s true!! .And as a human being, I see the cruelty, and sometimes the malice, with which girls are made to compete against women. “It’s a cruel world”
11.- What is your opinion of women’s empowerment in recent years, with women reaching top positions all over the world? How can this situation be improved in our region, Latin America?
I think it’s perfect that there is gender equality. And I’m proud to be a woman . I think that in Latin America machismo can be eradicated by educating women to be free and independent .

12.- Luna what motivates you, and why do you feel grateful every day?
Everything that happens to me and everything I’ve achieved, I owe to God.
I am blessed, and every day I am grateful to have a plate of food on our table. That motivates me to keep fighting for my dreams, since there are girls my age who don’t have the same opportunities or a mother like mine. Thankssss God for so much!!
13.- Do you like to travel? Which countries do you already know? Which other countries would you like to visit, and which places do you recommend visiting in Uruguay, your home country?
I love to travel!! I know Brazil and Argentina. I’d love to visit the fashion countries, Italy and France. Come visit Uruguay, and I recommend visiting Minas Lavalleja, my hometown. It has beautiful tourist spots like Villa Serrana, El Salto del Penitente surrounded by beautiful hills, Parque Salus with the Fuente del Puma, and Cerro Artigas with the largest equestrian monument in Latin America.

14.- How about we play a little ping pong? I’ll say some words and you tell me the first thing that comes to mind, okay?
Marriage: I don’t believe in marriage .
Abortion: I’m against abortion .
Best movie : The Boy in the Striped Pajamas .
Worst movie : The Teddy Bear .
Children: Ugh, around 30
Dancing: I don’t like it, but I try .
Singing: YES, I like it .
Machismo: A forbidden word at home .
Politics: I would use it to help those most in need..
Character: With a lot of personality .
Percentage of craziness: Zero, I’m nicer than Lassie
Great love : The runway
