It is an honor to present from Lions Head – Ontario – Canada – Allison «Ally» Chisholm, model, Miss Galaxy Lions Head 2022. Allison grants me an unmissable interview and today we meet the sweet mother, beauty queen and great woman, her humility, nobility, advice and experiences.

Welcome Allison Chisholm!!!

1.- Allison, you were born in Canada ,What do you like about your hometown in Canada?

I was born in Barrie, Ontario Canada. Spent most of my life living in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. I now reside in the beautiful Lions Head, Ontario. I love Lions Head’s cute small-town feel. Lion’s Head is more like a family rather than a community. Every person here has your back one way or another and we’re always cheering eachother on!

2.- What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?

Outside of pageantry, I am a mother to a beautiful little girl. We spend quite a bit of time outside. Reading is another huge passion of mine. I’m half-way to my goal of 50 books this year!

Finally, I am also the founder of The Commonality Movement. This online blog shares the stories of men, women and young adults from all around the world in hopes that it will affect someone else’s lives or guide them on the right path.

3.- Model , Beauty Queen, Miss Galaxy Lions Head 2022, When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

I started modeling when I was 13 with family members and friends who had an interest in photography. When I was 15 I started to get more serious about it. I participated in two 14 week programs and pursued modeling until I was 20 and had my daughter! I picked pageantry up when I was 21 in June of 2021! I have since been competing in various pageant and even placing top 5 in my last!

My journey has been incredible thus far. Being a mother, I always had a little one looking up to me. Her being able to see her mother recognized as an influential person to me is the highlight of everyday. If I can do good, and make her and my other family and friends proud, then I have succeeded.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Allison in each activity carried out as a person and model?

I look at everything with a fresh perspective. Everyday is a new day for me. Each and every task that I carry out day-to-day is done passionately and devotedly. I put my all into everything I do and that’s the unique stamp of who I am.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?

Self-Worth. It sounds cliche but I didn’t know that until I started to dig deep into the reason why I left it. I always felt I had so much that made me unworthy of success in any form.

Being a mother, being a student, coming from poverty or any other reason does not mean that you are not worthy of what you want to have or excel at.

Self-worth is the virtue of success.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

I am very aware of this. This is also the reason why I strive to be my best self each and every day. I take pride in being someone that the younger generation can look up too. I want to teach this new generation that it is one-hundred percent okay to be imperfect, have flaws, fall down and fail. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having to restart and try again.

I want to inspire the next generation to be the best version of themselves, and to be okay with that version too.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

Those first time feelings are scary, yet so incredible. Modeling was so exciting. Getting the opportunity to showcase a business that I genuinely loved was incredible. My first time modeling in front of a camera was in a wedding dress! It was thrilling but so nerve wracking at the same time.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

Social media has all the power we let it have. Social media is the cause of many beautiful things, as well as many terrible things as well.

The way I look at social media is as follows. Only what you let get to you, can get to you. If you don’t give the articles you read or the photos you compare yourself to the power to hurt you, then they won’t hurt you. But if you fall into the loophole of negativity, you could trap yourself in that cycle. Social media is only as powerful as you let it be.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

I personally love instagram. It’s a very user-friendly, well-known app that most people use. I believe it has the perfect amount of features too. Between reels, posts, IGTVs and instagram messages, it’s the perfect all around platform to use. I also love the cross-over feature with facebook when it comes to posts.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

To the younger generation, take the leap! Tell yourself that it’s okay to fail, and try again. You will never know the impact of your talent, until you give it a try.

To the parents: This can be scary. From one parent to another, please show your children that it’s okay to be different. Teach them that society doesn’t have “norms” and that it’s okay to stand out. Support their dreams, and their talents. Catch them when they fall and help them get back up again. Nothing bad ever comes from trying.

11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

I have learned that being turned away or losing only helps me get on the right path. Failure shows me what I need to work on. It shows me what I can correct and how I can better my plan of action.

12.- Allison, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

Being in the modeling and pageantry world was definitely not easy at the beginning. I was full of self-doubt, insecurities and constantly felt like this industry was not for me. But through lots of self-focused work I overcame those feelings. I stopped comparing myself to others and that got rid of the self-doubt. I told myself that I was worthy of everything I wanted to accomplish. I started to embrace my insecurities and showcasing that those unique bits of myself are what made me unique! I found my place in the industry and I did so with an open mind and heart.

13.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

I always wanted to be an actress growing up. But I don’t think I can do it now. I love the entertainment industry, I did theater for a few years in highschool. I loved theater, but being where I’m at now, I don’t think I would be too great at acting! I also have a terrible memory so I would not be able to memorize a script!!

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

I love seeing women excel in what they do. Everytime I see a story of a woman being successful in her industry I cheer from afar. Women are capable of so much and I hope one day every society can be as inclusive as most are today.

15.- Allison, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

My motivation is my daughter, Evelyn. Evelyn is the reason for my motivation. I want to make sure that she grows up seeing a woman in her life that is always being her best and making the impact that will last generations. I want her to grow up seeing the best version of her mother. To grow up watching a woman be successful.

16.- Allison Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from Canada?

I love to travel! Although I have only been as far as the United States of America, I hope to travel to most of the other countries some day!

If you’re visiting Canada, I recommend checking out Tobermory, Ontario and my current hometown of Lion’s Head, Ontario. They;re a short 30 minutes apart and offer some of the bluest waters you have ever seen. Spectacular sunsets and sandy beaches too! In the winter months, you can find all sorts of winter-wildlife and lots of snowshoeing to be done too!
