1- Zai, tell me about the city where you were born and raised.,What do you like about your hometown?

While I cherished the memories of Somalia where I was born , I liked the warmth of its people, and the echoes of Somali songs, however at the age of 5 my family relocated to Ethiopia I grew to love the city of Adama known as nasert as well. The city, with its bustling markets, vibrant art scene, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, became my new home.

2.- What are your hobbies?  what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?

My hobbies include running, football, and Pilates. These aren’t just hobbies for me; they are anchors that keep me grounded and uplift me when life throws curveballs. These three activities, seemingly disparate yet intertwined, have become an integral part of my well-being. When life feels overwhelming, I lace up my running shoes, hit the football field, or roll out my mat. The physical exertion clears my head, the focus on my body grounds me, and the shared experiences with others remind me of the beauty and strength within myself.

3.-International Model, Miss Global Somalia. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

I started modeling at age 15, Initially, it was a mere hobby, a way to express my confidence and embrace my love for the camera. Little did I know that my passion for modeling would ignite a fire within me, leading me to discover a profound purpose through pageantry. As I progressed in my modeling career, I found myself drawn to the empowering nature of pageants. They provided me with a platform to not only showcase my beauty but also to share my story and advocate for causes close to my heart. I realized that my voice could resonate with young girls, inspiring them to embrace their own potential and strive for greatness. Through pageantry, I discovered my true calling. One of the most rewarding aspects of my advocacy work has been the opportunity to inspire girls who have faced adversity. I have met young women who have overcome poverty, abuse, and other hardships. By sharing my own journey and offering them words of encouragement, I have been able to give them a glimmer of hope that they too can triumph over their challenges. The joy I derive from empowering young girls is immeasurable. It is the driving force behind my continued involvement in pageantry and advocacy work. I am determined to use my platform to make a positive impact on the lives of as many girls as possible.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Zai in each activity carried out as a  beauty queen and model?

My journey as a beauty queen has been a transformative one, a journey that has allowed me to discover the unique stamp I carry within. It’s not about the perfect physique or the flawless smile, but about the fire in my heart, the passion in my spirit, and the unwavering belief in the strength and potential of every woman. using my platform to amplify the voices of the unheard, to advocate for causes close to my heart, and to inspire others to embrace their own beauty, both inside and out.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?

It’s confidence that truly unlocks the potential of an international model. It’s the unwavering belief in oneself that allows a woman to shine, conquer challenges, and leave an unforgettable mark on the global fashion scene. It’s the invisible force that transforms a model from a beautiful face into a powerful and inspiring individual.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

Being an inspirational role model to young girls is an immense responsibility and a privilege. By embracing the qualities of authenticity, empowerment, inclusivity, and mentorship, i want to ignite their aspirations, boost their confidence, and guide them on their paths to success. Remember, every girl deserves to have role models who inspire them to reach their full potential and make a meaningful contribution to society.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

I found my voice, my confidence, and my purpose. I was no longer just a contestant, but a vessel for a message, a voice for the voiceless. The camera captured not just my physical beauty, but the fire in my eyes, the passion in my words, and the unwavering faith in my heart.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

Social media is a powerful tool that can have both positive and negative effects on our lives. By understanding the potential benefits and drawbacks, and by finding a balance in our usage, we can harness the power of social media while avoiding its draining consequences. Remember, social media is a tool, not a master. Use it wisely to enhance your life, not drain it.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

I love responding to comments, answering questions, and even hosting Q&A sessions on Instagram Stories. But the real magic happens on TikTok Live. Stepping into that live stream environment is like opening a window into my life. It allows me to connect with my supporters on a deeper level, through real-time conversations and genuine interactions. We laugh together, share stories, and even offer each other support.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

Ultimately, the decision to pursue your talent rests with you. But remember, the rewards of taking that leap far surpass the potential risks. The journey may be filled with bumps and detours, but the satisfaction of pursuing your passion, of realizing your potential, is a treasure worth cherishing. So, take that first step, embrace your talent, and let your inner artist, musician, writer, athlete, or entrepreneur shine. The world awaits your unique contribution. This journey is often made easier with the unwavering support of parents. Their role is not to dictate paths, but to encourage, nurture, and provide a safe space for exploration. It’s their responsibility to recognize their child’s talent, foster their passion, and offer guidance without stifling their creativity. A gentle push, a word of encouragement, and a belief in their child’s potential can be the fuel that propels them towards achieving their dreams.

11.- Zai, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

Yes, I have faced obstacles in my journey. There have been moments of doubt, times when the path seemed unclear, and instances where I felt like I was taking two steps forward and one step back. These experiences, though challenging, have proven invaluable. They have taught me the importance of perseverance, the value of adaptability, and the power of embracing the unknown.

12.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

Yes I have actually, I have also being approached by film directors  , however my focus is elsewhere right now, you never know what the future may bring to me though. Let’s see.

13.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

It’s true that women have made profound strides in many spheres, even in societies where they face severe abuse. Their participation in the workforce, education, and political processes has grown exponentially. They are breaking down barriers, challenging societal norms, and carving out spaces for themselves in fields once considered exclusive to men. Women are starting businesses at an unprecedented rate, creating jobs and contributing to economic growth. They are also leading social movements, advocating for change, and pushing for greater gender equality. In many societies, women are the primary caregivers and educators, shaping the next generation’s values and perspectives.

14.- Zai, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

My heart overflows with gratitude for my family – the anchor that keeps me grounded, the source of unwavering love and support. They are my constant, my safe haven, the people who celebrate my victories and offer solace in my moments of vulnerability. Their presence enriches my life in ways words cannot express. And then there’s my faith – Islam. It’s a guiding light in my life, a source of strength and purpose. The teachings of the Quran and the example of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) provide me with a framework for ethical living, a path to inner peace, and a connection to something greater than myself. Being a Muslim allows me to see the world through a lens of compassion, understanding, and service to others.

15.- Zai, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?

I have had the privilege of exploring countless countries, each with its unique charm and allure. However, one destination holds a particularly special place in my heart: Cambodia. From its ancient temples to its vibrant culture, Cambodia has captivated me like no other. In the future I would love to visit Australia, Colombia, Brazil and Denmark. If you visit Somalia you should go Borama Known as the ‘Switzerland of Somalia,’ Borama is a picturesque town nestled in the foothills of the Galgala Mountains. With its lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and vibrant markets, Borama offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.
