Finalist Miss Canada 2023 – Meaghan Rina
It is an honor to present from Canada : Meaghan Rina, model, Miss Canada 2023 Finalist. Meaghan gives me a wonderful interview and we meet her now.
Welcome Meaghan Rina!!!
1.- Meaghan , tell me about the city where you were born and raised, What do you like about your hometown? What are your hobbies? What makes you laugh a lot or does it give you a lot of joy?
I was born in Windsor, Ontario. I love that my hometown is a border city, with the beautiful Detroit Riverfront as a panoramic view to enjoy. My hobbies are writing poetry, getting glamorous and having photos taken, joining pageants, reading, traveling with my family, working out at the gym and going for walks. My four beautiful children bring me a lot of joy, as well as my husband and family. Watching comedy movies makes me laugh, as it’s something my late father introduced into my life when I was a little girl.
2.- Model, Beauty Queen, Miss Canada 2023 Finalist, When do you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized woman today?
I have always enjoyed modeling since I was a young girl. I love getting dressed up, glamorous and feeling beautiful. I was in a fashion show for the Red Cross Canada when I was in high school, and it brought about a desire to eventually join a pageant. I had 4 kids, so I decided to lose weight to look and feel better, and focus on something to achieve for myself, which is why I decided to join the Miss Canada pageant 2023. I have an amazing sense of accomplishment after pursuing my passion to be in the Miss Canada pageant. I feel I have inspired many women and mothers to pursue their goals and dreams, despite their circumstances or fears. It feels great to be recognized and valued not just for my outward appearance, but for my personality.
3.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Meaghan in each activity carried out as a person?
What is unique about me is that I love to leave a little bit of sparkle everywhere I go. Whether it’s a smile, a kind word, good advice, a prayer, or a hug. Something to have left an impression or imprint in somebody’s life. Something for people to remember me by.
4.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an beauty queen?
I believe every woman must have a beautiful heart in order to be a beauty queen, because I feel a woman has a lot more to offer the world in terms of inner beauty compared to outer beauty. You could be the most beautiful woman in the world, yet have a mean soul or unfavorable personality. It is better to have a kind and sincere, genuine heart that is caring and compassionate, as it illuminates and shines through like a diamond, from the inside-out.
5.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for many girls who want to be beauty queen? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?
It is my utmost desire to be a good role model and idol for young women and girls, as I have two daughters that I live to inspire and encourage as well. They are the reason I want to pursue being an influential woman for others, on a more broader scale. I hope to inspire them to be beauty queens with their own unique beauty, style, and platform to reach other girls and encourage them to follow their dreams.
6.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?
I honestly felt a little bit nervous and shy when I was first filmed on camera and video. I was worried about how I would be perceived by others, or making a mistake. But having been filmed as a finalist for Miss Canada 2023, it has developed a greater confidence in me and I was able to overcome my fears, walk with boldness on the stage, a big smile, and truly enjoyed having stage presence. I enjoyed giving people the opportunity to know me, and judge me according to the way I present myself physically and socially.
7.- What do you think about the power of social media today?
I think social media has a strong platform for being an influencer in the community and on a nation-wide scale. It can help reach hundreds, thousands and millions of people, in many ways and with various platforms. It has the power to uplift and encourage yet also the power to negatively affect others as well in terms of judgment, privacy invasion, cyber bullying etc. I like to use social media as a powerful way to motivate others, keep in touch, communicate and expand my platform.
8.- Whats your favorite social media?
I really favor Facebook the most, out of all social media platforms. It’s the most effective way to communicate through messenger and Face-time. I like how it is easy to access and utilize the tools to enhance your profile, share photos and have the ability to choose the privacy settings that best suit your needs. I love that I can search and find my relatives or friends from all over the world and successfully communicate with them.
9.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?
I would advise young people to take the next step regardless of the outcome or if they win, lose, succeed or fail. In my opinion and expertise, you will never know unless you try, and if you don’t try you will regret it. I took the step out of fear into faith, and I’m glad I did or I would not have been a finalist in the Miss Canada pageant, and would have missed out on such a grand opportunity that doesn’t usually come around twice. I would advise parents to always encourage and support their children in whatever talent they choose to pursue. They need someone to believe in them, as it is vital for healthy emotional growth and development, leadership qualities, and their own confidence.
10.- Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?
Acting is not something I’ve desired or considered. I enjoy the entertainment industry from afar, like watching TV shows and programs, movies, etc. Acting isn’t my strong suit. I prefer modeling.
11.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?
I would hope that the role of women would continue to be accepted around the world, being treated equally and without any form of emotional or physical abuse. Women are human beings just like anyone else, and they deserve to be validated, valued, equalized, and promoted for who they are as people, not just for outward standards of beauty.
12.- Meaghan , what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?
My motivation is God, my children, husband, family and friends. I am grateful for all of these people in my life who support and encourage me, and make me feel special, valued, accepted and loved.
13.- Meaghan , What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?
I know my country Canada, Italy (as that is my ethnicity), and some states in the U.S. that I’ve been to. I would love to explore Scotland, Australia, Jerusalem, Hawaii, Florida, California, Mexico and the Caribbean. Those would all be places I’d love to travel to in the next 10 years. As for my country, I would recommend to visit Montréal, Tobermory, Kingston and Grand Bend. Those are the cities we have explored together as a family, and we loved getting to see different landscapes and environments.
