In a world obsessed with perfection, what if the real crown belonged to intention, courage, and unapologetic authenticity?

Meet the remarkable Madeleine Poh, a queen who is not just redefining pageantry—but rewriting its purpose—as Mrs Petite Global 2025.

Raised in the fast-paced, precision-driven culture of Singapore, Madeleine embodies a rare philosophy: live intentionally, waste nothing, and pursue every dream with purpose. What once held her back—self-doubt, societal standards, and the pressure of perfection—has now become the very fuel behind her rise.

Today, she stands as a symbol of modern power: a lawyer, a mentor, a speaker, and a queen who transforms experience into impact. Through her voice, she is opening doors for women who once believed they didn’t “fit the mold.”

This is not just a comeback.
This is a statement.

Because Madeleine Poh doesn’t just wear a crown…
she gives meaning to it.

1.- Madeleine, tell me about the city where you were born and raised. ,What do you like about your hometown?

I was born and raised in Singapore, and I genuinely love this country because it operates on meritocracy and efficiency. Singapore is a nation where nothing is wasted, not resources, not time, not opportunity. The transport system is seamless, the legal system is robust, and everything works with remarkable effectiveness and productivity. This culture became deeply ingrained in me as I grew up, and it’s shaped how I approach life. I do everything with intention now, whether it’s in my professional work, personal projects, or daily routines. That principle of intentionality and efficiency is something I carry with me in everything I do.

2.- What are your hobbies?  what makes you laugh a lot or gives you joy?

My hobbies are quite varied. I love watching horror movies but they don’t necessarily make me laugh because of their nature, but they bring me genuine joy. Beyond that, I’m passionate about board games. There’s something special about board games because they’re inherently social. They bring me so much joy, and I laugh a lot when I’m playing them with my friends. I especially love playing with my close friends and their partners because it creates this warm, familial atmosphere. Those moments around a board game table feel like I’m with family, like an extended version of my own loved ones.

3.- Mrs Petite Global 2026. When did you decide to take your first steps as a model and beauty pageants? What feeling do you have achieving your dreams, your passions and being a recognized influencer woman today?

I’ve always wanted to participate in a beauty pageant since I was young. I would watch Miss Universe Singapore on television, but I never had the courage to actually apply. I didn’t look as flawless as the women on stage. I also lacked the height that seemed so important, and I was quite typical in height for Singaporean girls. I simply didn’t feel confident enough to put myself on such a large stage where I’d face criticism and judgment. Everything changed when I was about to get married. I realized that once I married, I’d have other obligations, so I thought to myself, why not do the things I’ve always wanted to do now? That’s when I discovered that most pageants required contestants to be unmarried, which was ironic timing.

What’s interesting is that I got married in 2023, and that same year, I joined two different pageants to maximize the opportunity. I participated in Miss Grand Singapore in August 2023 and Miss Singapore International in June 2023. Through those experiences, I discovered my true passion for pageantry. Even after marriage, I realized I could still pursue my dreams. My husband was incredibly supportive, and I felt fortunate to have that backing. That’s when I decided to join Mrs Petite Global because I’d learned that height was a significant factor in beauty pageants, and I wanted to compete on a level playing field where I wouldn’t be disadvantaged by my stature.

Achieving this dream has made me feel truly happy and accomplished. I’ve checked something major off my bucket list that I used to obsess about constantly. Winning the crown gave me the recognition I needed to realize that my words matter, that I matter. This has made me more willing to share my story on social media, something I was terrified to do before because of cancel culture. Now I realize people want to hear about my journey to Mrs Petite Global and the legacy I want to leave behind. I’ve created content about the pageantry process because I want people to understand that it’s not just glamour and fun and there’s tremendous hard work, planning, practice, training, financial investment, guidance, and yes, luck involved.

I’ve started living much more passionately since winning the crown because I’ve become unapologetically myself. I pursue my dreams at full capacity and I’ve stopped letting fear control my life. When I was younger, fear held me back from putting myself out there. I wish I’d joined pageants when I was younger because I’ve blossomed into a better version of myself through this experience. I’ve learned to love all of myself more deeply.

4.- What do you think is the distinctive, unique stamp of Madeleine in each activity carried out as a  beauty queen and model?

The most distinctive and unique aspect of my work as a beauty queen and model is that everything I do is intentional. After winning the crown, I carefully thought about what my legacy should look like. I realized that I wished I’d had bite-sized information about how beauty pageants work, especially since the pageantry scene in Singapore is relatively small. I wanted to help grow the industry and provide a modern guidebook for young women to understand the pageantry process, its elements, and what it takes to be a winner.

When I created my pageant public speaking program and became a pageant and public speaking coach through Speak Sparkle Shine, every piece of content and every lesson was intentional. I went in with specific wisdom and knowledge I wanted to impart to my students, and I delivered on that promise. For me, every activity is purposeful and meaningful. I make sure not to waste other people’s time or my own time. This principle of intentional living is deeply embedded in my character, and perhaps it’s an occupational hazard from my background as a lawyer.

5.- Whats is the main virtue that any woman must have to be an internacional model?

The main virtue any woman must have to be an international model is professionalism. To appeal to international audiences and transcend any cultural or language barriers, there must be a high standard of professionalism. This means being punctual, respectful, polite, and hitting all the targets that competitions set. Professionalism is demonstrated through actions, not words. That’s how you convince people from different backgrounds, languages, and cultures that you are a good international model.

6.- Are you aware of being an influential woman for thousands of girls who want to be models? How important is it to you to be an idol for many girls and teenagers?

I’m aware that all beauty pageant title holders, regardless of whether they win first place or are runners-up, and regardless of the scale of the competition, have influence over young women and girls who look up to them. That’s why I try to embody the right values in both my public and private life, including on social media. It’s an honor to be an idol for many girls and teenagers, but it’s also a tremendous responsibility that I take seriously.

7.- What was your feeling the first time you modeled in front of a video camera? What did you feel the first time at a beauty pageant?

I can’t clearly remember my first time modeling in front of a video camera, but I do remember feeling very self-conscious. I wasn’t confident in myself yet, and I was over-scrutinizing every single move. I felt stiff, rigid, and awkward on camera. Over time, I’ve learned to flow and be natural, allowing my body to move with its own inherent rhythm. Slowly, I’ve overcome my fear of the camera, and now I’m always camera-ready.

My first beauty pageant experience was fascinating and challenging. I was surrounded by so many beautiful girls, and it was impossible not to compare myself to them. The comparison was amplified far more than in daily life. I had to actively manage my mental health and remind myself that I am enough, that I would do my best, and that beauty is subjective. These affirmations became my anchor during that first experience.

8.- What do you think about the power of social media today?

Social media today is a genuine phenomenon, and it’s a tool with the power to do both tremendous good and real harm. It can influence people positively and also negatively. It can spread awareness and also misinformation. What makes social media truly scary is that its impact depends entirely on the intentions of the person using it. Now that everyone has access to social media and not everyone has good intentions, there’s a real risk that this power could fall into the wrong hands with dire consequences.

That said, I’m grateful for social media because it’s allowed a girl from Singapore like me to connect with people overseas, have video calls with them, conduct interviews, and learn how people live outside my country. I don’t think I’d have these opportunities without social media. Moreover, social media has democratized influence in pageantry. Even if you don’t win a title, you can still win people’s hearts and have real impact. You don’t emerge as a true loser in beauty pageants anymore because you can harness your social media presence and build influence beyond the competition itself.

9.- How do you like to interact with your followers on social media? Whats your favorite social media?

I interact with my followers by posting regularly when my schedule allows and my work isn’t too demanding. I share content I feel they’d enjoy, whether it’s on my feed or in my stories. When people comment, I make sure to respond, whether it’s with likes or meaningful replies. People often DM me asking for tips and insights about my experiences, and I do my best to answer their questions and connect with them personally.

My favorite social media platform is actually TikTok. TikTok allows me to create fun, short-form content without as much pressure to curate everything perfectly. It’s all about what’s trending and what’s happening now, which takes the pressure off. I don’t curate as much on TikTok because the platform’s nature is more spontaneous and immediate, which I really appreciate.

10.- What would you advise young people who have talent but do not dare to take the next step? What would you advise parents who do not support their children’s talents?

I would advise young people who have talent but don’t dare to take the next step to really envision two futures. Picture one where they actually took the next step and succeeded, and another where they didn’t and remained in their current situation. For me, it’s all about not having regrets when I look back on my life. So far, I can honestly say I don’t have major regrets, though sometimes I feel like I could have done things earlier or better. I don’t want young people to reach old age and feel they should have done something when they had the chance. Envisioning these two futures can help them find the courage to take action.

For parents who don’t support their children’s talents, I’d encourage them to be more understanding and encouraging. Try to understand your children’s intentions and goals for their talents. It would be a real waste not to let them explore their abilities. That said, there should be safeguards in place. For example, make sure they continue studying and that they balance their talent pursuit with their education, not prioritizing one over the other. It’s definitely a juggling act, but it can pay off tremendously.

11.- What important lessons have you learned from the world of fashion and beauty pageants?

The most important lesson I’ve learned from fashion and beauty pageants is that everything requires learning and hard work. On the surface, people see the glitz, the glamour, and the runway walk, but what they don’t see is that every element must be learned. I went to a modeling boot camp to learn how to properly model. When prepping for pageantry, walking a runway in six-inch heels while wearing a pageant gown isn’t something anyone does casually and it requires discipline, practice, and stepping out of your comfort zone. It takes serious hard work to become a beauty queen, a model, or a fashion icon. There’s so much research, planning, practice, and trial-and-error involved.

This knowledge has definitely removed the rose-tinted glasses I once had about the industry. I now understand that if you put in the hard work, you can succeed in whichever field you choose.

12.- Madeleine, being a model for you has been easy? Were there obstacles? How did you overcome obstacles?

I wouldn’t say I’m a professional model, I’m far from that but as a beauty queen,  I do need to be able to model well. Being a model hasn’t been easy for me. When I look back at my early modeling photos compared to how I model now after attending an intensive modeling boot camp three to four times a week for about five weeks, the difference is clear. To many people, modeling might sound easy, but there’s so much to learn. You need to understand your angles, learn different styles of modeling, and develop technical skills.

I’m grateful I took the step to attend the modeling boot camp and put myself out there. Initially, the biggest hurdle was getting over the self-doubt and fear of being critiqued. I had to go through tests and model in front of others, which required me to be confident in myself. With every practice session and assessment, I slowly became more comfortable posing on camera, posing under time pressure, and being more comfortable in my own skin. I stopped overthinking every pose and started trusting my instincts.

13.- Are you singer? Have you thought about being an actress? Do you like the entertainment industry?

I like to sing, but I wouldn’t call myself a singer because no one has ever told me I have a beautiful singing voice. However, acting is something I’ve always wanted to pursue since I was young. I chose the more practical route of becoming a lawyer instead, but acting remained something I pursued whenever I could find the opportunity. I’ve acted in my law school graduation musical, attended acting boot camps, and continued trying to fit acting into my life whenever possible.

I do like the entertainment industry, but I’ve also realized it’s a very difficult industry to break into. There are so many people with their own unique talents, personalities, and looks competing for the same opportunities. That’s probably why I haven’t taken the full plunge into entertainment and have only dipped my toes in. But I’m still trying my best to squeeze in these passions while juggling my full-time job as a lawyer, which gives me a lot of purpose and fulfillment.

14.- Worldwide, women have acquired a greater role even though there are societies where they are still abused. What is your opinion of the role of women in the future in these societies?

Nowadays, we can see more women taking stands around the world. Even in societies where women are still abused, there are pockets of courageous women standing up for what they believe in, making their voices heard, and helping voiceless women express their opinions. I believe that change doesn’t happen overnight. In certain parts of the world, change needs to happen more gradually than in others, but that doesn’t mean it’s not happening. I’m hopeful that the role of women in the future in these societies will become increasingly integral. Women will become strong pillars for their societies and contribute meaningfully to them. As women’s contributions become more visible and valued, the mindset of these societies will slowly shift. Hopefully, no woman will be abused anymore, or at minimum, all women will have the strength and resources to step out of abusive situations.

15.- Madeleine, what is your motivation and what do you feel grateful for every day?

My motivation is to leave a legacy behind that I’m proud of and to live without regrets. I always envision myself as an old woman, reminiscing on all the things I did in my youth and being genuinely happy about the chances I took, the things I pursued, and the memories I built. That vision of myself at eighty, proud of who I’ve been and who I’ve become, is what drives me forward. I want to live a life of adventure and purpose.

Every single day, I’m grateful for my family—my husband Winfred and my daughter, my close friends who keep me sane and supported, the opportunities I have, my health, my youth, and my strong support system. I have a job I genuinely love.

16.- Madeleine, Do you like to travel? What countries do you know? What other countries would you like to know and which places do you recommend to visit from your country?

I love travelling and I am blessed to be able to have the privilege to travel. Last year, I spent two and a half weeks exploring the United States, which was my first time there. It was wonderful experiencing a different culture, seeing scenes I’d watched in movies, and truly experiencing what it means to be in places like New York and Las Vegas. The year before that, my husband and I went to Europe for three and a half weeks for our honeymoon, exploring Paris, Venice, and Rome. It was absolutely wonderful. This year, I’m bringing my dog overseas to Switzerland and Portugal, which will be another incredible experience for both of us.

Looking ahead, I’d love to visit the Maldives, a place where I can relax with sun, sea, and sand amid all the hustle and bustle of my daily life in Singapore. As for places to recommend visiting in Singapore, I absolutely love Gardens by the Bay, especially the Flower Dome. It’s so peaceful and serene, and the flowers change seasonally. Even though I live in Singapore, I love returning to Gardens by the Bay to see what they’re displaying that season and how they’ve arranged the flowers. It truly embodies what Singapore means as a clean and green city.

18.- Madeleine, your last words or final tips

My final tip is this: don’t wait for a crown to start living like the queen that you are. I don’t mean this in a narcissistic way, but don’t wait for something big to happen before you feel like you have permission to go out there, do what you want, be who you want, or feel like your words matter. We all wear invisible crowns that only we can see. So I hope everyone lives fiercely and fully and never feels the need to make themselves smaller. We are all kings and queens in our own right.
